Mike’s previous store kitty was the beloved KitKat who lived at the market for 8 years before being run over and killed by a Waymo car. You might have heard about this incident. It was all over the news and was quite traumatic for Mike and the 16th street community, who all knew and loved KitKat. So Mike took Coco in to be spayed and was crushed when Coco turned out to be FeLV+. He was going to return Coco to the original guardian until he found out there were other cats living there. Now what? Enter Karen, a huge SNAP Cats supporter. Karen knows Mike through her hubby, Rick, who works at the Roxie theater next door Mike’s Market and who helped Mike navigate the whole publicity generated by the Waymo death of KitKat. Boots was abandoned by her feral mother when she was a very young kitten. She is one year old. She tries to suckle on your arm when she jumps into your lap. I feed her separately from my other cats because she will growl and try to eat their food. She has gone outside only in my catio. She would do best in a single cat household, as she does not get along with my other 3 cats. She likes to play and is very vocal. She is litter box trained.

Mae Mae was originally adopted by my grandmother and enjoyed a quiet, relaxed lifestyle. When my grandmother was no longer able to care for her, I welcomed Mae Mae into my home. Over the past year, our family has grown with the addition of a baby, and we've noticed that the increased activity and noise have been stressful for Mae Mae. She thrives in a calm, peaceful home where she can enjoy plenty of naps, lap time, and affection. We estimate that she is around 10 years old and would do best in a quiet environment where she can be the center of attention and enjoy the slower pace she loves.
