Story
Introducing Sakura! Sakura originally came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services with her 4 little kittens. Sakura was an excellent mom to her babies and now that they are weaned, she is ready for a home of her own! Sakura is a sweet, petite girl, who enjoys the company of humans. She would love to find a home with adult adopters or families with cat-savvy children over the six at this time. We are still getting to know Sakura and do not know how she does with other cats or dogs but may do well with them after proper introductions. Sakura is currently at Pet Food express at the Crossroads in Carmel. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to complete one today!

Story
Coming in hot, meet Fuego! Fuego is 9 years old and came to us as a stray with a microchip that was unregistered, so we were unfortunately not able to reunite him. Older cats, like older people, do require more frequent trips to their doctor and a higher cost of medical care. We have done blood work and other diagnostics here to get adopters off on the right foot. Fuego is very friendly with people and has an adorable, cuddly personality. His icy-blue eyes shine bright and add to his incredibly unique look. Due to his fluffy tail and senior age, Fuego is looking for an indoor-only home with his new family. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
Meet our “kitchen helper” kittens. This litter of kittens came in as strays and were creatively named after kitchen tools. Whisk and Spatula are the torties, Tongs, Collander and Grater are the tabbies. Oven Mitt is the Siamese mix. Ladel is the buff and white kitten. Peeler is the orange tabby. These kitties are playful and curious once they warm up. If you need a little kitchen helper, look no further than these guys!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ready for Pre-Adoption!Cinnamarol and the rest of our Sanrio 4 kittens are ready to find their forever homes! Kittens are bundles of love! Their personalities develop over time so we can't tell you exactly if this kitten will become a lap cat, a social kitty, a kneader, etc. Part of adopting a kitten is recognizing that they are babies and you will get to see first hand how their wonderful natures develop. I will be ready to meet you at Kittenpalooza on June 7th from 1-3pm! Fill out an application ahead of time to spend some time snuggling with me! To keep all of us kittens safe and healthy, only interested parties with a completed application will be allowed to handle us. Unless otherwise noted, all kittens are adopted out in pairs. 2 is always better than one! SVPP Kittens are fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed and FIV/FELV tested prior to adoption.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 6, 2025, 8:19 pm

We asked her foster mom how she would describe Ube and she told us: With her soft, silvery coat and striking blue eyes, Ube is a vision of elegance and charm. Her delicate coloring is matched only by her gentle, affectionate nature—she’s the kind of companion who curls up beside you with a quiet purr, always ready to offer comfort and warmth. Whether she's softly meowing for attention or resting her head in your lap, her sweet personality brings a sense of peace and connection to every moment. We'd love to introduce you to Ube!
