Story
Hi, I’m Kinoko - a gentle, thoughtful 10-year-old Siamese girl with big blue eyes… and yes, they’re just a tiny bit cross-eyed. It just means I have my own special way of looking at the world—and people tend to fall in love with it pretty quickly. I like to take my time getting to know things. I’ll sit back, observe, and think things through… and then come over for a soft headbutt and a cozy purr once I decide you’re my kind of person. I enjoy the simple things—quiet spaces, comfy spots to nap, and being near my people. I’m not overly demanding, but I do love companionship, and I’m happiest when I can sit with you and keep you company (your lap is a pretty great place, just saying). I’ve been with another cat in my previous home and we got along really well. Right now, I’m being treated for a gastrointestinal condition, and I’m doing really well. I have a great appetite, I’ve been gaining weight, and I’m feeling more like myself every day. I’ll likely need to stay on a consistent diet and may need ongoing medication to keep my tummy feeling good. Because of that, I’m looking for a home that can offer: • a calm, stable environment • consistency with my food and routine • someone who’s comfortable keeping an eye on my health and working with a vet if needed In return, I’ll be a very sweet and loyal companion. I may be a little thoughtful at first, but once I feel safe, I’ll show you just how affectionate I can be. If you’re someone who appreciates a quiet, loving cat (with a slightly unique perspective), I think we could be really good for each other.

Story
Meet Marshmallow, the 1 year old Siamese mix! This sweet boy has been warming up to the shelter staff quickly and has been enjoying playtime and cuddles. He is a little bit shy at first, but soon he is head butting, rolling over, and soliciting pets from everyone. Because marshmallow was a stray, we are not sure if he has lived with cats, dogs, or children in a previous home, so potential adopters should keep in mind that a slow and thoughtful introduction would be necessary with any resident animals. If you are looking for a kitty as sweet as an ooey-gooey marshmallow, this might be your guy! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them

Story
Meet Pepito (lynx point Siamese) & Nopalito (brown tabby), the bonded pair of boys. These boys came to the Shelter as strays after a good Samaritan found them hanging out outside a store in Watsonville. Although initially reserved, they started to let their walls down within 48 hours of arrival to the Shelter. Nopalito is the more outgoing of the two – giving elevator butt when getting scritches and purring loudly. Pepito is a bit more shy and relies on his brother for support. We anticipate these boys will continue to show their true colors after adoption and their transition to the adoptive home. Adopters should be patient in the transition and take things slow. A home with other animals may be appropriate with a slow, thoughtful introduction. Pepito and Nopalito may do well in an indoor-outdoor home after a period of acclimation to their new space. They may also be just as happy to be indoors with their people moving forward. Pepito & Nopalito, being bonded, do need to be adopted together. Their adoption fee is 2 for 1. They are currently available for pre-adoption: come meet them, fall in love, and take them home after their neuter surgeries. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. Story
Meet our senior tortie Diva. This 14 year old gal really embraces Beyonce’s song lyrics to her core. She is truly a diva. Due to her blue eyes and light coloration, we suspect she may be some sort of a mix of a Siamese. When you meet her at the kennel, sometimes she’s into attention and other times.. she simply is not. This is common in older cats and can be a classic behavior trait of a “tortie-tude”. During her vet examination, Diva did great – soliciting pets, purring up a storm, walking around rubbing against people. Diva arrived to the Shelter after her senior guardian could no longer care for her. She is looking to be the Queen Bee of her adoptive home. Could that be with you? Diva`s adoption has been sponsored by a generous donor! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**Piper must be adopted her brother Shiloh** All of our kittens are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, dewormed, deflead and microchipped prior to being delivered to their loving forever home. All of our  kittens are only available for adoption in pairs  as it is our policy not to place kittens under six months of age in a forever home without another same aged kitten. We also do not place kittens older than six months into homes where there is currently not another young cat in residence. Most of our kittens are in "bonded pairs" or bonded with their littermates. We reserve the right not to separate bonded pairs or place kittens individually. The happiness and quality of life for our kittens is our top priority. =^..^=Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 17, 2026, 7:56 pm
