Story
Hi, I’m Luna! I’m a curious, chatty girl with three legs and plenty of personality. I move quickly and get around just fine, though I can’t jump as high as most cats. I can be shy at first, especially in new environments, but I warm up quickly with kind people. I love being pet and brushed and I am very vocal when I want attention or when it’s time to eat. I am very food motivated and serious about my meal schedule! I prefer to be the only pet and would thrive with all the love for myself, though a quiet tank pet like a bird or lizard would be fine. I enjoy playtime, exploring, and relaxing in my favorite spot on a desk chair or sleeping near people’s feet. I can get overwhelmed by loud noises like vacuums or yelling. I’m a loving, playful companion who will keep you company and remind you when it’s dinner time.

Story
Amara is a shy but sweet Siamese-mix, 6-month old kitten with big blue eyes who loves to cuddle and to play. She is cream colored with an abstract design on her body in light brown with pale orange highlights. She has a striped tail with an orange tip. Amara can be quite talkative and will purr as soon as she sees her person. With strangers, she is more tentative and often hides behind a chair. Her favorite game is to pounce on a toy. She will hide behind anything. For some reason she thinks the toy mouse couldn’t possibly see her behind that ball of yarn. She’ll crawl into a paper bag, animating it as she gets into her best pounce position. She’ll then leap forward out of the bag, looking a little confused about what exactly she was after. Amara is fascinated with faces: staring directly into eyes, kissing a forehead, and even once putting her paw into a yawning mouth, purring the whole time. If there’s a choice between food and lap time, she’ll grab a bite and then jump onto the lap to cuddle. I met Amara when she would cry to me from across a busy street where I was feeding a colony of cats. She was smart enough to wait until I came to her side of the street to eat. Being patient when hungry is an unusual trait in a kitten.  It took Amara only a couple of days at our house to go from hiding behind a chair to running to greet me, purring loudly. We’re looking for someone who will give Amara the chance to come out from hiding to be  loved. Amara is being cared for by a member of the community.  To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, please fill out our application here: https://www.thedancingcat.org/adopt-courtesy For more information regarding our Courtesy Posts, see www.thedancingcat.org/courtesy-postsJanuary 13, 2026, 7:48 pm

Story
Andy & Lovey – Bonded Siamese Pair Seeking a Safe Home Brother Andy (part Siamese) and Sister Lovey (lilac point Siamese) are a bonded brother–sister pair looking for a safe, warm place to live together. They have grown up in a managed feral colony and are very familiar with people, though they are not handled or petted. They know their names, come when whistled for, sniff fingers, and happily hang around during feeding time. They even jump into the car to eat, showing how trusting and adaptable they are. Unfortunately, they currently live in an area with heavy traffic, and their safety is a growing concern. Andy and Lovey must be placed together and would do best in a protected garden, winery, barn, or similar environment where they can stay warm and safe from harm. A small adoption fee applies. Their caregiver is deeply committed to their well-being, will help ensure a good placement, and can assist with delivery and ongoing support. These two deserve a secure place where they can stay together and live safely for the rest of their lives. Andy & Lovey are being cared for by a member of the community.  To arrange to meet these cats or find out more, please fill out our application here: https://www.thedancingcat.org/adopt-courtesy For more information regarding our Courtesy Posts, see www.thedancingcat.org/courtesy-postsJanuary 20, 2026, 8:34 pm

Story
Puma is a striking beauty with soulful blue eyes, snow-white feet, and a short, velvety coat that hints at her Siamese heritage. At 10 1⁄2 years old, she has known deep love—and deep loss. Her first two owners adored her, but both sadly passed away, leaving this tender-hearted girl searching for one more forever home. At first glance, Puma may seem quiet and reserved, but once she knows you, her true personality shines. She is very talkative and chatty with her people, loves to interact, and still has a playful spark that makes her a joy to be around. She’ll happily share her thoughts with you, follow you around for companionship, and engage in gentle play when the mood strikes. Puma is looking for a calm, loving home where she can feel safe and cherished. She adores cozy bed snuggles, blissful head scratches, and quality time with her favorite human. She doesn’t need constant activity—just your presence, patience, and a heart open to a deeply affectionate, conversational companion as she settles into her next chapter Puma would do best as the only cat in your heart and home, where she can feel safe and loved again. A mellow dog might be okay with a slow introduction, but she truly shines in peaceful surroundings.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Johnny Utah! Johnny didn’t have the softest start — he was abandoned at the doorstep of Hollister Animal Shelter with his two kittens. But don’t let that backstory fool you. This guy? He’s thriving. Johnny is hands-down the most playful cat his foster has ever met. We’re talking Olympic-level pouncing. He carries toys around in his mouth like prized little mice, strategically relocates them around the house, and will literally bring them to you for a re-throw like, “Again. Obviously.” Fetch, but make it feline. Wiggling feet under the covers? Immediate activation. Morning and nighttime zoomies in bed are his love language. When you’re playing together, everything becomes a game — strings, shadows, your existence. And just when you think it’s all chaos and cardio? He pauses mid-play, trots over meowing, and climbs into your arms for a snuggle break before diving back into action. Balanced king. He’s a big fan of his “Costco Cat Tree” (luxury edition), especially the cave hideaway where he can bird-watch like it’s premium Cat TV. Initially shy, Johnny may dart under the bed — but he’s always observing. Give him a little time and curiosity wins. He’s cautious, thoughtful, and quick to re-emerge when he knows he’s safe. Unknown with cats and dogs. Best suited for adult adopters or families with cat-savvy kids 12+. Interested in Johnny Utah?
