Story
Hey there! My name is Minka and boy do I have a story to tell! To say I have been through a few things in my short little life is an UNDERSTATEMENT! See when I was very young, I was left at the animal shelter, a very scary place for any furry baby but even more so for a little one like me! The people there noticed my front foot was a bit “wonky” as were my elbows, but the nice doctor said I was born this way though I could have told them that! So, the people set out to find me a special place to help me and that’s how I arrived in rescue, and I was so grateful to be in a home! I quickly made friends with my foster mates and things seemed to be going great for me till I got sick with what my foster mom says is FIP. She was very very concerned about me since it used to be thought of as fatal, but she wasn’t willing to at least try. Well, I am very happy, as is my foster mom, to say the treatment worked and I am officially cleared, I even took a test to prove it, though not a fan of those whatsoever, even if the vet techs love on me! Mom says I am now ready for my own castle so here I am on the “love me” site! I am a very petite girl for my age, apparently, the 5-month kittens are bigger than me but that’s no bother! I am full of personality and spunk and mom says I like to share my opinions. I am good at doing almost everything the other fosters do and love to be loved. I would do best in a quiet home with a gentle friend who doesn’t mind an occasionally rambunctious gal (I love to skootch as quickly as possible around the house!) and a family who will be able to give me lots of love, oh and brushing, I like brushing! Hope to meet you soon! My foster mom says I am spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. They say that’s good! I currently live with my foster family in Sacramento. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats (like me) with qualified adopters who will cherish me and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you’re my perfect adopter please explain why in the comments section of my Adoption Application, and contact Dayna at meandmyfosters@outlook.com If you are unable to reach Dayna please email info@purebredsplus.org. NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!

Story
It used to be that a cat’s diagnosis of FIP was the worst of all news; it was 100% fatal. A research microbiologist tried a medicine being developed to fight Ebola and found it cured FIP. Though it was not yet FDA-approved cat lovers worldwide obtained this medicine and started saving the lives of their kitties. Sprinkles and Mickey were two of the very early “FIP Warriors” who were cured with this medicine. When Sprinkles suddenly had one of her big blue eyes turn brown, the eye vet said it was FIP. A friend knew someone treating a FIP cat with a new drug. Once on the medicine, Sprinkles got better immediately and has never looked back. When she was halfway thru her three-month treatment, we discovered Mickey had the same blood markers as hers. He was losing, not gaining weight. He, too, recovered. This process was so new that we were cautious and kept these bonded kitties under observation for over a year. Thousands of cats have been saved with this medicine, and its use is becoming routine. I have heard that UC Davis is working to get FDA approval so they can bring it to market. I hope so. These two kitties are a perfect bonded pair of opposites. Sprinkles is a smart, energetic, very interactive classic Siamese girl. Siamese kitties are called extroverts of the feline world. She is a shoulder-loving cat and is super affectionate. Mickey is quieter -more of an artist and poet, as is typical of Turkish Angoras. These gentle cats have delicate bones, fine silky easy care fur, and almond-shaped eyes. They are super sensitive, affectionate, and devoted to their people. Unsure about new situations and strangers, Mickey often looks to Sprinkles for reassurance. Sprinkles is the Curious, playful explorer, and Mickey is the Cautious, sensitive lover. Perfect. Both share a love of catnip and treats, bird feeders, windows, and climbing trees with high lookouts. Both are smart, funny, and entertaining. Both are very human-oriented and love to give and receive pets. Both need attention from their humans and are not good choices for people out all day at work. Mickey and Sprinkles are happy around other kitties. We don’t know how they are with dogs. ( Well, we can guess: Sprinkles will immediately set up the rules and Mickey will watch from the top of the climbing tree.) They would be fine with respectful older children. Some family will be so lucky to have their entertaining and loyal companionship. Sprinkles is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pets and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Sprinkles (and Mickey) please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet, please email us at info@purebredsplus.org. Story
Who could resist such a beautiful and charming boy!? Cosmo has beautiful, expressive, piercing blue eyes that perfectly complement his deep, rich, plush seal point coat. Cosmo is a sweet and expressive charmer who is somewhat unsure of other kitties’ intentions and can be a touch defensive when pressed, so a cat-savvy home would be best for him. You can expect Cosmo to be close to you and nuzzle you all the time. He loves getting his head rubbed and will not let you go until he is happy that he is sufficiently loved! This gentleman has a quiet, calm, though curious personality and will thrive in a home where he gets lots of love. Cosmo can get a bit overstimulated but is good about letting you know it’s getting to be too much for him. Can you blame him? All he wants is a family of his own and to express his love. If loving, sweet, and beautiful are the traits you are looking for, then look no further. Cosmo is ready to love you just as much! Cosmo is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. He currently lives with his foster family in Sacramento. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pets and create an ideal forever home. Story
Meet George a stunning 4 yr old Lynx Point Siamese. George is very gentle, intelligent, and sweet. He has anxiety which leads him to being timid and skittish. While he enjoys interacting with you (rubbing against legs, getting head/neck pets), he prefers for it to be on his own terms when he seeks out pets. He mainly seeks pets out when you are seated so that he is fully in control of the interaction. He is very polite, carefully walks around items on desks, and is never involved in mischievous cat antics. He is low energy and spends most of the day sleeping on the balcony. If you have been out, he likes to smell your breath when you come home to see what you have been doing. He is usually not very talkative and loves treats. It will take time and consistency for him to adjust and trust. He needs to be in a calm and peaceful household, without a lot of commotion, noise, or people coming and going. No children. He would probably prefer someone who is home a lot, to be your one and only pet and to form a strong bond with you doting on him. With time, he may turn into a very clingy cat. We’d prefer George to be in a home versus an apartment, so he has plenty of space to explore. George’s current owner loves him to death, however they are experiencing some health issues, which is causing George some stress. He loves her very much and can sense something just isn’t right. He is very in tune with his people’s emotions. He is litter box perfect and always has been. Currently, he eats Nulo dry food mixed with Hills Prescription Diet Dental Care food to graze on and given a small amount of Weruva wet food daily but does not always eat it. All in all George is the most perfect of cats and would be a great addition to the perfect home! George is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. He currently lives with his foster family in Canyon Lake. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home. Story
Chonky! Yes Maxwell is a Chonky kitty for sure. Why is it these big guys are so adorable? They reach out and grab our hearts. A volunteer was petting Maxwell in the shelter and Max reached out and took the volunteer’s hand in his mouth. “Don’t go. Stay with me longer” he said pulling the hand back a little towards him. He was mistakenly labelled a Biter and rescues would have nothing to do with him. I saw his paperwork and learned that far from being aggressive he was imploring the volunteer to keep petting him. “Oh for heaven’s sake !” I said annoyed that being called “a Biter” almost got him killed. We got him out of the shelter literally two hours before his euthanasia. And what a nice guy we found him to be! He showed us he loves everyone from the first day we got him. He is a classic Siamese boy. People love their Siamese kitties because they are very connected with their humans, loyal, bonded and loving. Maxwell arrived very stressed. What had been going on in his life before the stress of being in the shelter? It is frustrating not to know the back story. We loved him up and took him to the vet to treat a bladder infection. We learned that other cats really frightened and upset him. He came into the shelter with a wound on his shoulder. Was he attacked by a cat or two ? It would make sense with how he acted. We knew that Siamese and Ragdoll cats are very emotional. Sensitive Max definitely needs to be an only cat in his new home. We don’t know how he is with dogs. Unfortunately in his foster home there are other foster cats around. We try to give him privacy but he wants to be around us and we are around other kitties. He is much more tolerant of that than he was but he will be so happy to have his own humans. And yes, he has been eating too much and exercising too little. He has gained weight on the weight-loss food we give him. ( We dieters all know how that works!) He needs measured food. He weighs 16 pounds and, big boy that he is, should probably be 12 or 13 pounds. Running around overseeing his new home will help him. If you are looking for a friend and companion this funny boy will fit the bill. He wants a friend and companion too. His life had not been going well when we got him. Now it is time to find the happy ending for him, his own happy family and home. Want a wonderful temporarily chonky blue eyed boy? Max eats limited amounts of wet and dry food and uses his litterbox. Some family will be so lucky. Maxwell is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped. He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home. Story
Casanova is a gorgeous seal point Siamese. He is an easygoing, friendly and fabulous cat who loves to play, nap, and eat! Casanova is so easygoing: his favorite toy is a balled-up piece of paper that he chases around and then brings back to throw. He is a good eater, not picky (although doesn’t particularly enjoy wet food), but he does like arugula and will always come running for treats or playtime! Casanova loves attention and will start purring as soon as you pet him. He has a wonderfully soft and thick coat that he keeps so clean. Casanova is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. He currently lives with his foster family in San Francisco. If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Casanova please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Emily at esharkey@ymail.com or (415) 516-9794.
