Story
Marshmallow was found wandering the streets of Philly after being kicked outside by a Siamese cat breeder. She is an extremely affectionate but needy girl who wants the attention all on her. She unfortunately does not get along with other kitty cat friends and we expect she will be the same with dogs. PLEASE do not let this scare you away because we have gotten to know this special girl who also deserves a special home of her own who can fit her needs. All she wants to do is sit by your side, on your desk, help you type on your keyboard or nibble at your hands to get your attention. She likes to reach out and grab your leg gently to get your attention & let you know when she wants to be pet. She is truly what you call a spoiled little princess in every way. We think she would do best in a quiet with the occasional guest household who has older respectable kids. She is absolutely a wonderful kitty, we just need to find a home to suit her needs.

Story
Warrior was brought to a New York shelter by the police department along with 4 or 5 other cats after his owner passed away. We unfortunately don't even know Warrior's original name - all of the cats were named after basketball teams by the shelter staff. Journeys stepped in to help Warrior find a new home since the New York shelter was not an environment that would help him come out of his shell. We don't know what kind of home Warrior lived in before he was taken to the shelter, but we would venture to guess he was living with an older individual who did not spend much time with the cats. Poor Warrior continues to be terrified of people. He is hoping to find a foster home (possibly a foster to adopt home) that will be able to spend a lot of time helping him learn to trust people. He does seem to be great with other cats and having some friendly cats in a home could be a very good environment for him. Despite being extremely scared, he has always used his litterbox faithfully. Please contact Journeys at journeyscatrescue@gmail.com if you would be interested in fostering him.

Story
Mia is a gorgeous young flame point diva with a big personality and zero interest in sharing her spotlight. This sassy, bougie princess knows exactly what she wants, and what she wants is to be the one and only queen of her castle. She’s chatty, expressive, and not shy about telling you her opinions. Whether she’s announcing mealtime, requesting attention, or just narrating her day, Mia always has something to say and expects her loyal subjects to listen. When she first came into care, we thought she might be feral, but it turns out she simply has very high standards and other cats do not meet them. Mia would be happiest as the only cat in the home where she can fully relax, rule her domain, and soak up all the attention without competition. While she might tolerate one extremely respectful feline roommate after very slow introductions, her royal preference is a cat free kingdom. If you’re looking for a confident, entertaining companion with main character energy and model good looks, Mia is ready to claim her throne in your home.If Mia’s bold queen energy doesn’t feel like the right match for your home, no worries at all. You might just fall in love with her flame point male doppelgänger, Soul. He’s a gentle, easygoing gentleman with charming manners and a noble spirit to match his good looks. Unlike Mia, Soul is wonderfully gets along great with both cats and dogs, making him a lovely fit for families looking for a more laid back companion.

Story
This new friend has just arrived! They have come to us either as a transfer from another shelter, being found as a stray, or have been surrendered to us by their owner. When our friends are new to us, we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, comfort with handling, or experience with other pets or children. Our staff will spend some time reviewing any information provided by previous owners and spend some time with our new friend so that we can better update their biography. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.
