Story
Junebug is around 7 years old. I acquired her at the Wilco Animal Shelter. I am no longer able to care for her, so I need to rehome Junebug for this reason. She is a nice, playful cat who will enjoy sitting in your lap for hours on end and is not in the least shy about using her voice around the house. The only issue with Junebug is that she has a tendency to overgroom her backside, leading to a spot with thinner hair than the rest of her body. I have had this looked at and the vet essentially concluded it was just a quirk of her personality and not a major health issue. However, I also have limited time to spend with her most days and I would wager she unfortunately does this out of boredom more than anything else.

Story
Baby is a talkative and beautiful flame-point Siamese mix cat, who enjoys calm and predictable environments where he has lots of room to roam and explore.  He approaches doors like a challenge and is curious about what's behind or beyond everyone.   He's active and energetic, interested in (and into) everything.     Baby wants attention, but is unsure of himself in new situations, which makes him wary of new people. He may hiss or act out with swats or biting if he becomes overwhelmed, until he establishes trust and safety.  Giving him space when he becomes stressed but interacting with him frequently will help him get there. He does best if you let him be in control; he will come to rub up on you and invite that touch.     Play is best in the beginning with wands and throwing toys. When he plays, he loves catnip, anything you can throw that makes noise, and his cat tunnel that he can hide in and run through.    Baby needs space to explore, and a home with a catio or protected outdoor area would be ideal for this interested kitty.     Baby needs new people to take their time to establish trust with him, and he will reward you ten-fold with affection!  Once he trusts, he loves being around his people, and he likes chatting to them throughout the day with his adorable meows. When he feels safe and comfy, he will curl up on your bed, come for pets, and give purrs.  Baby lives in a home with his foster-friend Marmalade. He enjoys the company of another chill kitty, and they get along very well. Baby’s ideal forever home would be with a cat savvy person or people in a low traffic/lower energy home. A home with his friend Marmalade would be ideal, but he would likely come to enjoy another kitty as well, with time and a good introduction.   Baby would do best in a home with adults only who can give him time and space to feel secure. He blossoms into a true love bug once he feels comfortable.    If you love the quirky ones, admire the beautiful ones, and speak fluent "cat" then you could be lucky enough to adopt Baby.  He is worth it! Story
Playful, Talkative, Smart Meet Trainers, your new best friend! She absolutely loves to play, especially with mice on a string, or anything on a string! She jumps a lot when she plays, and is very interactive. She loves being close to her favorite humans, especially when they give her lots of affection--especially belly rubs! Bring out the brush? Even better. Trainers enjoys the little things in life, if you turn on the faucet she'll run over to drink out of the sink! Trainers has the silvery coloring of a Lynx Point, with beautiful dark gray stripes and black-and-white paws. She also has an adorable white spot on her tail. Bring out the catwalk! Based on her personality, she would likely do well in a home with children and/or stairs, to give her plenty of opportunities to play and run around. Trainers is now with us in foster, and her diabetes is being managed with a special diet and two insulin shots daily. Her foster says "She is extremely sweet and easy to care for." She is very good about her shots, and sits nicely for them. If you have questions about diabetic cats, please reach out to us. We're happy to talk with you about her care. Trainers is all heart! Contact us today to arrange a meet & greet! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. Story
Friendly, laid-back, watchful KG Special is a beautiful Siamese girl with the most elegant dark brown socks. Unlike many Siamese, she's pretty quiet. She is slightly anxious about new environments and unfamiliar noises at first, but warms up quickly to people who are calm and gentle with her. Then, she will head-butt you and rub against you to ask for pets and cuddles! KG is leery of other pets - and even stuffed animal toys! - so she would prefer to be your one and only furry friend. KG Special has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. She can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet KG Special, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.
