Story
Meet Bruno, a gentle giant and a 4-year-old St. Bernard weighing in at exactly 100 pounds. Bruno is a friendly and sociable dog who gets along with most other dogs, although he particularly enjoys the company of female dogs. His love for people knows no bounds, and he has a special affection for children, though he should be placed in a home without small children or small dogs due to his tendency to resource guard his food. When it comes to mealtime, Bruno prefers his own space and should be fed separately from other animals to avoid any issues. It's important to note that he cannot be adopted into a home with cats. Bruno is up to date on all his vaccines, and if you decide to make him a part of your family, the rescue organization will cover the cost of his neutering. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who will bring joy and warmth to your home, Bruno might just be the perfect match for you. Adopt Bruno and give him the forever home he deserves! Story
Meet Mickey! Born 1-5-24, he's an adorable gentle giant -- half St. Bernard and half Great Pyrenees! His tan and white coloring and facial freckles are extra cute and make him look more like his St. Bernard half. His people love him to bits but because they're an older couple, they've been told his size (predicted to be 150 lbs. soon) will be too much for them to handle. They are heartbroken over this news and are coming to the realization he'd be better in a home with loving people who can handle his size more easily. Mickey is a sweet, playful pup and very affectionate. He's very friendly with other dogs and enjoys playing with them. Ideally he'll need a large yard to run around in. Mickey is up to date on all his shots and veterinary care. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Mickey, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.

Story
Hi there!  Mortimer here, checking in after arriving in Colorado! Im between 1 and 2 years old (no one ever told me my real birthday so the nice doctor at the vet's office took a guess) and the rescue people asked me to tell you a little bit about myself. I love tug of war!  I figured i would start with that since its really important that my new home like to play that with me.  I also like to play with other dogs, but can get a little scared if they are super loud and in my face at first.  I am "crate-trained" whatever that means, and enjoy these things called "leash walks" where i get to go out and smell and see new things.  My foster parents say that i have decent leash "manners". I've seen a cat a few times, and wasn't overly interested in it, but i have never lived with one, so I don't know how i would feel about that. I ended up in Colorado after someone dumped me in a very rural part of new Mexico.  A nice lady there found me and gave me food and water and shelter which was very nice, but she couldn't keep me so she found some nice people in Colorado to help me find a new forever home!  If i sound like the kind of dog you would like to hang out with fill out the application below and be sure to mention my name! If you are interested in fostering or adopting Mortimer, please fill out an adoption application at gotdrool.org
