Story
Say hello to Nina! She came into rescue through no fault of her own when her family experienced medical issues and could no longer care for her. Nina has lived successfully with both children and other dogs and enjoys being part of a family. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and settles in nicely to home life. One of her favorite things is spending time with her people—whether that means lounging nearby or snuggling up for some affection. Like many dogs, Nina can be a little protective of especially high-value treats. She needs to eat separate so she can feel secure and doesn't feel like she needs to protect her dinner. The good news is that she communicates her boundaries appropriately and responds well when those signals are respected. Her adopters should be mindful of this behavior and continue to set her up for success through positive management and training. Nina is looking for a family who will appreciate her sweet nature, giant-breed charm, and love of companionship. If you're searching for a loyal best friend who enjoys cuddles as much as she enjoys being part of the family, Nina may be the perfect match. Story
Bonded pair Gus & Maggie come to after Maggie tore her CCL and their previous owner was unable to provide the level of care that she needed. Maggie is almost completely recovered from her TPLO surgery and these two are ready for their happy ever after! Gus can be protective of Maggie, so we recommend a home with no other dogs in it, but they get along just fine with their foster kitty brother! A home with few stairs and a fenced yard would be best for these two. Favorite activities include sunbathing, snowbathing, napping, watching squirrels, and getting belly rubs - in other words, the good life! Adoption application: https://cosaintrescue.org/adopt/

Story
Babs is an absolute sweetheart at 18 months young. She came in after her owner decided her energy no longer matched his own. She is a pretty active girl that needs someone to continue to work on training with her. Her current foster mama says she is very sweet little tornado 🌪 💜. She weighs in around 110 lbs and still needs to be spayed and have her gastropexy before she is ready to be adopted out. However, she is available to meet. She does have some resource guarding we are working through when it comes to food, and she is still learning how to be polite on a leash.

Story
Hi there!  Mortimer here, checking in after arriving in Colorado! Im between 1 and 2 years old (no one ever told me my real birthday so the nice doctor at the vet's office took a guess) and the rescue people asked me to tell you a little bit about myself. I love tug of war!  I figured i would start with that since its really important that my new home like to play that with me.  I also like to play with other dogs, but can get a little scared if they are super loud and in my face at first.  I am "crate-trained" whatever that means, and enjoy these things called "leash walks" where i get to go out and smell and see new things.  My foster parents say that i have decent leash "manners". I've seen a cat a few times, and wasn't overly interested in it, but i have never lived with one, so I don't know how i would feel about that. I ended up in Colorado after someone dumped me in a very rural part of new Mexico.  A nice lady there found me and gave me food and water and shelter which was very nice, but she couldn't keep me so she found some nice people in Colorado to help me find a new forever home!  If i sound like the kind of dog you would like to hang out with fill out the application below and be sure to mention my name! Story
Seymore is crate trained and is making great progress with house training. He's also doing well with his leash-walking skills and enjoys learning new things. Like many young dogs, he can be a little cautious when meeting new people and may need a few minutes to warm up. Once he decides you're a friend, though, you're in for life—Seymore is incredibly loyal and affectionate with the people he trusts. In his foster home, Seymore loves playing with his foster sister and has shown that having another dog around helps him feel more comfortable and confident. Because of this, he would do best in a home with another playful, social dog who can continue showing him the ropes. Seymore is looking for an adopter who understands that confidence is built through patience, encouragement, and positive experiences. With a little guidance and a lot of love, this wonderful pup is sure to blossom into an amazing companion. Apply to adopt on our website: https://cosaintrescue.org/adopt/
