Hi there!  Mortimer here! The nice rescue people have asked me to tell you about myself, so here goes .... I am a world class squirrel defense expert. I have been told that i shouldn't lead wth that, but I think it's the most important, so there we go. I am also an expert at eating snacks :) aaaaaaand now they say they are taking over writing this .... Morti is around 5 years old and survived prostate cancer in 2021! The required surgery has made him a bit sensitive about his rear end when it comes to other dogs sniffing it, so he can be a bit dog selective. He does better with female dogs that respect his boundaries. He was not kidding about the squirrel defense expert bit - he has an ongoing feud with the neighborhood squirrels at his foster house. Morti can't live with cats (or any small animals really) as his prey drive is just too high. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and a family that can continue his structured daily walks. If you have a garden, he will "help" you in it. His foster mom solved this by giving him his own garden bed to till. Morti is house and crate trained, and does fine in the crate while his foster family is away from the house.

As sweet as a summer meadow, this girl is a bit a shy at first, but warms up into a snuggly pint size barrel of Saint Bernard love! Continuing the theme of Saint Bernards that spent too long in the dryer, this adorable girl is perfect if you have ever thought to yourself “I would love a Saint Bernard, but my couch isn’t big enough for a 100+ pound dog”. She has started to show a preference towards men in her foster home, and can resource guard her “person” from other dogs, but takes direction well, so we suspect with some training this will not be a long term issue. When the first snowflake falls, Babs transforms into a frolicking snowball! Her joy in the snow is contagious and she loves it when her people join her in playing. She thrives on attention and will nudge your hand and give you "the look" until you shower her with the attention she deserves - she is a bit jealous with other dogs when it comes to attention, so an only dog home or a submissive friend would be best for her. Babs favorite place in the world is right with you.  Whether its the couch for a Netflix marathon, or a walk in the park, she is up for anything as long as it's with you! OK, so we may have a thing for wonky ears … Nacho is an adorable mix that came to us after being hit by a car. His front left leg was broken and his right front leg has some soft tissue (likely ligament) damage that we are evaluating. Nacho will likely never have a completely normal gait, but that’s ok, and it does not slow him down! He loves people – his favorite spot is your lap giving you kisses, so if you don’t like snuggles, this is not the one for you. Adoption application at www.gotdrool.org
