Story
Artemis is a loving 8-month-old puppy who is all for pets and cuddles. She shows minor interest in toys, initially, but will play with one when she's up for solo play. She loves to explore and is moderately trained with a leash. Artemis does well with my 8-month-old child but isn't as aware of her body so I don't let them play out of arm's reach. Little Miss (a nickname) is semi-motivated by treats and attention - she'll let you know which is most rewarding at the time. She's used to playing with other dogs between the ages of 8 months and 8 years old. We're currently looking for a new home for her due to finances and a cross-state move. She'll need her shots as she doesn't have them past the first set.

Meet huge loverboy, Sampson! He is a sweet and cuddly gentle giant who responds to his name when you call him. Sampson doesn't pull on leash and is really well mannered. When he is not cuddling or leaning on you asking for pets, you can probably find him sleeping and snoring somehwere in a comfy corner. He does well with kids, dogs, and all people - he just wants the lovin's.  ##2174372##

Story
Hi there!  Mortimer here, checking in after arriving in Colorado! Im between 1 and 2 years old (no one ever told me my real birthday so the nice doctor at the vet's office took a guess) and the rescue people asked me to tell you a little bit about myself. I love tug of war!  I figured i would start with that since its really important that my new home like to play that with me.  I also like to play with other dogs, but can get a little scared if they are super loud and in my face at first.  I am "crate-trained" whatever that means, and enjoy these things called "leash walks" where i get to go out and smell and see new things.  My foster parents say that i have decent leash "manners". I've seen a cat a few times, and wasn't overly interested in it, but i have never lived with one, so I don't know how i would feel about that. I ended up in Colorado after someone dumped me in a very rural part of new Mexico.  A nice lady there found me and gave me food and water and shelter which was very nice, but she couldn't keep me so she found some nice people in Colorado to help me find a new forever home!  If i sound like the kind of dog you would like to hang out with fill out the application below and be sure to mention my name! Story
Dixie and Latigo come to us after their human dad passed and Dixie started escaping the yard on a regular basis. Their human mom recognized that she could not keep them safe and asked us to help. We of course said YES! Things they will need in their new home – a yard with a 6 foot fence. Normally we don’t require fences, but for these two a 6 foot fence is an absolute MUST. They will still try to get over it, but won’t be able to. They are still learning the finer points of being inside dogs, but are doing really well so far! Dixie is definitely the leader with these two – she’s first to try new things and Latigo will follow her. They are also learning about leash manners – and so far are doing really well!

Story
Meet Chevy! Chevy was picked up as a stray in southern Colorado, and after his stray hold was up the shelter contacted us to help. Chevy came in pretty beat up – he had several fly strikes on his muzzle and ears when he was found and was also very underweight. Upon arriving at the shelter, he vomited up several plastic bags, a clear sign he had been surviving on garbage for quite some time. Chevy was adopted and became Asher, unfortunately his adopters had some health issues that meant they could no longer take care of him so he came back to us! His favorite game is race car laps in a yard, so his next home will require a fenced yard. He attaches quickly to his people and wants to protect them, so a family who can help him learn that he doesn’t need to is a must. He also adores cats, so a home with a dog friendly kitty would be an added bonus! He is a champion snuggler who is perfectly happy to hang out with you (on or off the couch) while you binge the latest show. He will help you keep your counters clean of all things edible and check the trash for any wrappers that might have a tidbit on them, so a its important to be mindful of these things. he hasn’t lived with kids but has gotten along with kids that he met out and about.
