Story
Benny is a 4 year old Saint Bernard with a heart as big as his paws. At 102 lbs (he needs to gain 10-15 more lbs), he’s a giant who believes personal space is overrated. Despite his size, Benny is convinced he’s a lap dog and is happiest when he is laying on top of you. He wants pets all the time and will paw you if you dare stop petting him. He’s the kind of dog who makes sure you’re never lonely. If you’re sitting, he’s touching you. If you stand up, he’s right behind you. Bathroom buddy? Of course. Cooking? Your supervisor is on duty next to you. Doing yard work? Don't work he will be laying at your side. He loves him walks and typically doesn't pull unless he sees a squirrel. But he does bark at people/other dogs who dare to exist and does need redirecting. Benny loves playing fetch, zooming around the yard. Benny is dog friendly but since he believes all personal space is his personal space, not every dog will appreciate his invasion of their space. This boy is extremely food motivated. All food is his favorite food, which makes him eager to please and will be great for continued training. He’s very tolerant of grooming and brushing (which is good, because he’ll need regular brushing to keep that gorgeous coat in check). As expected from his breed, Benny drools. A lot. If you believe slobber is a love language, you’ll fit right in. While he goes willingly into his crate and sleeps in it through the night and doesn’t attempt to claw his way out of it, he will bark his head off for a good while. Benny is dog friendly, kid friendly, up to date on vaccines, and neutered. He’s sweet, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s oversized shadow for life. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you with his whole (very large) body, Benny might just be your perfect match. Brandon is a 5 1/2 year old St, Bernard mix. He is a gentle giant. He is a little standoffish when meeting a new person(s). He is very affectionate once he knows you. He loves rubs and scratches. Brandon loves going for walks and checking out the many play yards here at the ranch. He is very mellow. He would thrive in any size family. He follows commands and is eager to please. Story
Meet Bumi.  This gorgeous boy is a Bernese Mountain Dog/Golden Retriever mix, also known as a Golden Mountain Dog. His original family purchased him from a breeder, but our vet believes they were allergic and unable to continue caring for him. Their loss is truly someone else’s gain because Bumi is an AWESOME dog. Bumi is being fostered by Ramya and her family, which includes a 10-year-old son, two large dogs, and three cats, and he does well with everyone. He loves kids and has been fantastic with their son and his friends. With dogs, he’s polite, adaptable, and reads the room well. He’s happy to play with the energetic pup, and respectful with the other dog who prefers space. He’s also good with cats (even though they’re still keeping their distance ). Bumi gets daily walks and has great leash manners; he even knows heel! He meets new people and dogs without issue and handles an active household with ease. Ramya describes him as playful, affectionate, and a total snuggler, but not pushy about attention. He also has excellent house manners: fully housetrained, crate-trained, and even chooses to nap in his crate on his own. Overall, Bumi is a big, sweet, happy-go-lucky boy who would make an amazing family dog.   NOTE: Bumi will be coming to town on 12/6 and is going to a foster-to-adopt home. We'll give his foster family a few weeks to assess his fit before we consider other adopters.   BEED ESTIMATE: Bernise Mountain Dog/Retriever Mix - Golden Mountain Dog GENDER: Male APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: 89 bs APPROXIMATE AGE: ~3.5 years old COAT TYPE:  Medium wavy coat ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: UTD on shots/neutered/microchipped LOCATION: Columbia, SC   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application.
