He’s a scared dog who needs a firm, experienced owner to help him feel secure and establish boundaries. Sprocket has had training sessions and responds well to clear, consistent leadership. Once he knows you’re in charge, he’s much more relaxed and doesn’t push back. However, he does react to new people and should wear a muzzle during initial introductions for safety. Despite his challenges, Sprocket has no health issues and thrives on affection from his trusted person. He enjoys being cuddled and will show his sweet side once he’s built trust. There's nothing quite like young dog sweetness and silliness, and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These gorgeous pups are so pure and vulnerable with their whole lives lying in front of them, that it's unbearable to think of them homeless and alone on the streets or in a high-kill shelter scheduled for euthanasia due to lack of space. Kazoo is a cute as can be 10 month old, 46 lb Labradoodle (Labrador Retriever / Poodle mix) who is just waiting to be the love of a special family's life. Farfel's can't swear to the accuracy of this breed identification as no DNA test was done. This was the opinion of Texas veterinarians and we're going to go with their educated guess. Kazoo is starting out with great energy. While initially just a bit shy, this sweet guy is blossoming as he learns about living in a safe and nurturing environment with love and kindness . Now at 10 months old, Kazoos self esteem is getting better every day as he learns that he's a very valuable guy that has so much to offer a dog-loving family. This gorgeous guy's forever family will need to make a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect lifelong protocols for general longevity and coat care) to keep his hair super-healthy, shining and cottony soft. Kazoo, with his gorgeous coat (and the cutest chocolate brown markings ever) will require a lifelong commitment to periodic sudsy baths and excellent nutrition to keep his hair super-healthy and cottony-soft. There has been extensive new research that a human-grade, natural diet will provide a healthier (far fewer vet visits) and longer life for our best friends. Kazoo is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's also so loving and cuddly once comfortable in his environment. Kazoo will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a young dog's ultimate behavior and in his relationship/bonding with his people. It does take time and commitment yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Kazoo out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. We're open to Kazoo finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart Doodle. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a dog that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Kazoo enjoys his relationships with all humans and dogs. We would prefer, however, to place him in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment will create a dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Kazoo will be up to date on his vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to support zero population growth in the canine community. I’m Maiden, a 5 month old Boxer/Pit Bull/Poodle mix. My foster says I’m growing into such an incredible pup, have the sweetest floppy ears that somehow always end up flipped inside out (my lil’ bear ears ), full of energy, some joke I must be part kangaroo and that I learned to jump before I learned to walk, always ready for fun and adventure. Beau and Lulu are siblings who came to us from an elderly adopter who was moving into a senior living facility which did not allow pets. They have always been extremely well cared for and loved, however were not well socialized with lots of different people. They are a bonded pair and must go to a home together. They are 100% housetrained and love to take long walks. They are good on a leash and come with a leash in which they are linked together. Beau and Lulu would love to find a home in which they are the only pets in the home. They are extremely athletic and have a prey drive with small animals. They will definitely keep the squirrels out of the yard. They are both extremely loving and love to be on your lap or next to you. They bond quickly with new people and done very well in the 2 different foster homes. The reason they would be best as the only pets is they are very protective of one another and while there have no incidents in either of the foster homes with other dogs, they are currently in a foster home with a blind reactive dog who can be aggressive when startled by another animal. The foster has always been there to de-escalate before it becomes problematic. These two would do great with an active family who has older children who understand how to treat pets. They are both very strong and could easily knock a small child over when they get excited. They are both current on all vaccinations including lepto and rabies and both have had a dental within the past year. They
