Story
Jemima is a very sweet and loving little girl. She is reserved and timid in new environments, but once people gain her trust (she adapts fairly quickly), she is zen, snuggly, loyal, and interactive. Her favorite activities include snacking, napping, and lying on the bed with her people watching World News. She would love a person of her own that she can spend countless hours with. Jemima lives harmoniously with other dogs (big and small), cats, and young children. Due to her luscious locks, her new family will need to prepared for regular grooming. She is kennel trained, potty trained, rides quietly in the car, and walks politely on a leash. Jemima is a 3.5-year-old mixed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $800 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX, dental, and spay. This dog is also tested with other dogs, kennel trained, and housebroken. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if it might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525). For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772, or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned. Thank you for choosing adoption! If you would like more information on our organization please visit our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org.

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Chai, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Chai has a very engaging and sweet nature and is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. Chai is coming to Farfel's Rescue from rural Texas, where she was relinquished a small, high-kill shelter. Chai is believed by the vets to be just 9 months old, and she is only 9 lbs. She is most likely done growing, but may get up to 11 lbs. Chai is believed to be a Shih Tzu / Poodle mix. At only 9 months old, this sweet girl was forced into motherhood, and then abandoned at the shelter with her single puppy. Now, Chai is headed to Colorado for a new start at life. Chai would be a wonderful companion for an individual, a family, or active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with this irresistible pup that's beautiful both inside and out. Chai will do well with any loving guardian who's invested in spending time with their pup. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure. It can be a leisurely walk socializing with neighbors, a picnic in the park or a visit with family or friends. At day's end, a spot on, or beside the bed all night next to her favorite humans will speak to the loving nature of this little dog. We'd like to place Chai in a home where she'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Chai has been fully vetted, is up to date on her vaccines, and spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.

Story
There's nothing quite like puppy sweetness and silliness...and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These gorgeous puppies are so pure and vulnerable, with their whole lives lying in front of them, that it's unbearable to think of them homeless and alone or in a high-kill shelter scheduled for euthanasia. Barley is a cuter than cute 12 week old, 5 lb Poodle /Shih Tzu mix (anticipated full grown weight is approximately 15 lbs). Farfel's can't swear to the accuracy of this breed mix as no DNA test was done. This was the opinion of Texas vets and we're going with their educated guess. Barley is starting out with great energy. While initially shy, this sweet puppy is blossoming in his foster home as he learns about living in a safe and nurturing environment with love and kindness . Now at 12 weeks old, while still just a bit shy, Barley's self esteem is getting better each day as he learns that he's a very valuable guy that has so much to offer a dog-loving family. The photo of Barley is awful. There's no way that it shows how adorable and fluffy this sweet boy is. We've requested new photos from Barley's Texas foster and will update as soon as we receive them. Barley's non-shedding coat (perfect for those with allergy concerns) is currently shelter-sad. This gorgeous guy's forever family will need to make a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately once every 8 - 10 weeks) and excellent nutrition. 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect lifelong protocols for general longevity and coat care to keep Barley's hair super-healthy, shining and as soft as cotton. Barley is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's also so loving and cuddly once he's comfortable in his environment. This snuggly little guy would be very excited to be a couch potato and snuggle with his favorite people at the end of an active day. Even at just 12 weeks old, it's clear that this puppy is SO smart and very sweet - typical of the Poodle and ShihTzu personalities. Many would say these two breeds are the most loyal, intelligent and intuitive in the dog world. Since Barley is just a puppy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Sweet Barley will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free puppy kindergarten followed by force-free level 1 Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in his relationship / bonding with his people. It does take time and commitment yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement / force-free training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Barley out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. We're open to Barley finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart puppy. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a puppy that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Barley enjoys his relationships with all humans and dogs. We would prefer, however, to place him in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Barley will be up to date on his vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. Extensive new research shows that Barley is far too young to be neutered at this time. When he's approximately 12 months old, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Barley's neuter and microchip if one of our rescue vets is used. Applications are currently being accepted for this stunning and sweet as can be puppy who is learning about love and acceptance in his life. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Barley, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Shiloh is a beautiful and sweet as can be Poodle / Wheaten Terrier mix with all the traits that make these super- smart and personality-plus dogs very popular and beloved breed mixes that are excellent companions for dog-loving families. Shiloh's breeds were identified by Texas shelter vets. We can't swear to it without a DNA test...all we know is that this little guy is irresistible. Shiloh is a sweet and loving little dog who is a bit shy after spending his time in a high-kill Texas shelter where he was scheduled for euthanasia due to lack of space. Sweet Shiloh was recognized for his excellent temperament and Farfel's stepped up to save his precious life. We are now searching for a patient and loving home that will show our sweet guy kindness and teach him that the world is a loving and safe place. Farfel's feels it's very important that sweet Shiloh participates in virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free training classes to build his confidence and teach him the skills to go out in the world with great behavior. A positive training experience is also one of the most important elements in a family successfully bonding with their new rescue dog. Shiloh enjoys the company of other like-sized, gentle dogs and enjoys playtime and fun with his canine friends. Due to his sad background, Shiloh can be initially nervous when meeting humans, but with kindness, love and patience, this little guy comes around to be a full-time best friend. Shiloh's rescuer has shared that this sweet Poodle / Wheaten is coming around more and more each day. He is allowing petting and closeness that he worried about previously. Sweet Shiloh's basic nature is to be loving and goofy, and he's becoming exactly that with the love and patience of his Texas foster mom Shiloh, at between seven and eight years old, is just naturally a lover who has had a very sad life. But when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. Shiloh is a snuggler at heart! He wants so much to cuddle but it takes a bit of time for him to feel safe enough to dog so. This little guy loves his rescuer mom so much and after some time with her, he's asking for pets and loving. Shiloh will have so much fun exploring, and ultimately taking long walks along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. His previous life had been about darkness and confinement, but now that he's in a foster home with a loving and involved family, every day is an adventure filled with new experiences and relationships...and this little guy is having the time of his life! Shiloh's rescuer mom had the following to say about this sweet guy: Shiloh is a dream dog waiting to happen as so much love and kindness lives inside of him! We would love to see him in a home with a quiet and patient family that understands that with time, this little dog will blossom into an amazing family dog. Dog-crazy retirees who have the time and love for a very sweet pup would be perfect for our sweet pup. We'd hate to see Shiloh left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. He seems too sensitive for that type of arrangement. Shiloh will thrive with spending the days near his people...getting treats and hugs periodically throughout the day is a dream come true for our sweet guy. Farfel's would like to see Shiloh in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A virtual or in-person positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a little guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important to the future behaviors of every dog that we're unwilling to adopt Shiloh out to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Shiloh's breeds support that he's a non-shedding guy (perfect for those with allergy concerns). He will therefore require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks) and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great lifelong protocols for coat care and general health) to keep his coat cottony-soft, matte-free and shining with great health. Shiloh has been fully vetted, vaccinated and neutered. These protocols support Farfel's adherence to adopting out only healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation crisis within the canine community. Shiloh is scheduled to arrive on transport in Boulder on Friday 6/7/2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Shiloh please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. UPDATE 4-21-24: Check out Remy's new video on our SummitDogRescue.org website! https://www.summitdogrescue.org/meet-remy.html - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Meet Remy! He is, according to his DNA, a mix of Poodle, Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Pekingese, Papillion and Rat Terrier (with maybe a touch of American Eskimo). Chihuahua and Poodle are his dominant breeds (over 25% each), and then the others are splattered in there. Despite his size, he would love an active lifestyle. This adorable little guy needs a patient, loving and calm home in order to live his best life! We suspect he was abused at some level as he has some trauma around being handled. He was adopted out but is being returned due to his handling issues, and he just isn't a right fit for his current home. Remy did great living with multiple dogs in his foster home and seems to really like dogs. He has lived with a cat and did okay, but it should be a fairly confident cat. Remy is 16 lbs. of cuteness. He's young, neutered and up to date on his vaccines. We suspect that his time before coming to rescue was not so great... He's easily startled by quick hand movements and will need people who are very conscious when petting him. He'll need a special adopter to go slowly and continue to help him feel safe. We think he'd love a quieter house, maybe with a dog or dog-savvy kitty who can hang out with him and help him learn that life is good, and that no one is going to hurt him ever again, nor will anyone force him to do anything. He doesn't like being picked up, and he doesn't feel comfortable at the veterinarian. This will take time, commitment and giving him confidence (please Google "cooperative care" to learn more). All that being said, despite being low in confidence, Remy loves being outside and going on sniff walks and exploring trails. We actually think this little guy would love to live in a rural setting and just run free on a farm, hiking and exploring trails, chasing squirrels, etc. but he could do well in suburbia with a large yard! Applicants will need to work with our behavior team to learn how to work with him and help him gain confidence (his human needs to be very open to learning!). This is included in his adoption fee of $125. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Remy, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can. Thanks.

Story
Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogIf you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Toyota, and I am a Maltipoo boy who was born 7/15/16, and I weigh 7 pounds. I have been shaved for hygiene, but my hair will grow back, and I will be beautiful. I need aa quiet home and I would love a sibling to play with and learn from. If you have been waiting for a beautiful Maltipoo, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Toyota 031823-34  May 27, 2024, 5:25 pm
