Story
Meet Sprocket, a 4-year-old Poodle mix with a big personality and a heart full of potential. Sprocket has had a rough start and comes with a history of reactivity and biting. He’s a scared dog who needs a firm, experienced owner to help him feel secure and establish boundaries. Sprocket has had training sessions and responds well to clear, consistent leadership. Once he knows you’re in charge, he’s much more relaxed and doesn’t push back. However, he does react to new people and should wear a muzzle during initial introductions for safety. Despite his challenges, Sprocket has no health issues and thrives on affection from his trusted person. He enjoys being cuddled and will show his sweet side once he’s built trust. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to provide a structured, loving environment, Sprocket could be a rewarding companion. He’s looking for someone who can help him overcome his fears and show him the love and stability he deserves.

Story
Meet Goose (aka Seth Rogen) – Your Next Great Adventure Buddy! Are you searching for a loyal co-pilot for life’s adventures? Someone to ride shotgun on road trips, stroll with you on sandy beaches, or power up a mountain trail by your side? Look no further—Goose is your guy. This two-year-old Pyrenees-Poodle mix is packed with personality and ready for action. With the energy of a puppy and the heart of a cuddler, Goose is the total package. Whether you’re tossing a ball in the yard, playing a fierce game of tug-of-war, or just chilling on the couch, he’ll be right there, soaking it all in with you. Goose is larger than life, both in size and spirit, and he's happiest when he doesn’t have to share. In his previous home, he made it clear that food, toys, and treats are his personal treasures. Because of this, Goose would thrive as the only pet in an adult-only home, where he can soak up all the love and attention without competition. He walks well on leash and is learning to manage minor reactivity around small animals. For safety, we recommend keeping a respectful distance from other dogs on walks. Goose is also an impressive jumper, so a 6-foot fence is a must in his future forever home. If you're ready for a companion who’s equal parts adventure and affection, Goose is waiting to meet you. Story
This lovely lady is Autumn. Autumn is a 1 year old, female Poodle mix (likely Bernese/Poodle). She came to MHCR as a transfer from a local CO shelter where she was very shut down and fearful. Autumn was surrendered by her owners and had never had much socialization or been afforded indoor living. What a beautiful new world she’s seen since being in foster care! Autumn got all cleaned up and had a much needed spa day. Beneath her dreadlocks a gorgeous merle and tri-colored coat appeared. She’s a very skinny girl, at around 30 lbs. She will likely be a healthy 40-45 once she’s filled in. Autumn is looking for a patient home with other confident dog friends and a yard. She draws so much playful confidence from other dogs and she isn’t accustomed to leash walks. She’s not much of a barker, loves the water, and thinks dirt baths are the best thing ever. She has a very sweet, playful energy but is very much still an inexperienced puppy. Autumn is kennel trained, perfecting her house training, and will need some additional work with counter surfing. Autumn is being fostered in Longmont, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/autumn/. Story
Tina is a sweet, gentle miniature poodle, estimated to be around 12 years old. I adopted her in 2021, and she’s been my constant companion ever since. Despite her age, she still has bursts of puppy-like energy. She’s incredibly affectionate, friendly, and hilariously clumsy. She's got a lovable, quirky personality that wins people over instantly. She’s anxious by nature, scares easily, often shakes for no apparent reason and needs a lot of comfort, love, and reassurance. She would do best in a calm, quiet home with someone who’s around most of the day—ideally someone who works from home or is retired. FYI, she's up to date on all her medical care. In April 2025, she received her 3-year vaccinations, had a full dental cleaning, and a few extractions. She's in great shape for her age and still has so much love to give. If you feel like you might be the right person for Tina, I’d love to hear from you.
