Story
Gigi, a gorgeous, female, silver standard poodle, was rescued from a local shelter on 11/6/23, and was guesstimated to be about a year old. She weighed 41.4 pounds and was a little thin. While her coat wasn’t terrible, hair completely covered her beautiful eyes so that you couldn’t see them. After being brought up to date on vaccinations, she was groomed and it was easy to see what a gorgeous girl she is and her sweetness is every bit as spectacular as her looks. The groomer said that as she gets older her color will lighten to the color of her face, which was a beautiful silver color. The groomer said she is what is called a silver poodle. At the shelter they said she was good with everybody, dogs, cats, and people, and that definitely seems to be the case. She rides well in the car and in fact, she seems to love to ride in the car. She walks well on a leash and has not had any accidents in her foster mom’s house. She is an all-round super sweet girl. She is microchipped and was scheduled to be spayed on 11/16/23 but became ill at that time and had to be hospitalized for 8 days. All tests came back negative, but she began to get better with the administration of Prednisone. She was rail thin when she was released back to the care of her foster mom. Our vet wanted her to weigh 50 pounds before she was spayed. She finally gained the weight and was spayed and tested heartworm negative on 3/12/24. Her daily dosage of prednisone was slowly decreased to 5 mg every other day, by the end of March and she is doing fantastic. We feel she is ready to find her forever home. Gigi is located in Arkansas and her foster mom thinks she is the best. The adoption donation for Gigi is $1200 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Gigi, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This doodle is CHRISSY, she is about 1 1/2 years old and 44 pounds but underweight.  She has a good appetite and should gain the weight she needs pretty quickly.  She is active but knows how to calm down and rest when I am resting or on my laptop.  She really likes to hang around me but does not cause a stir if I put her in her area while I am dealing with the other dogs. CHRISSY gets along with all of the dogs in my home and I mostly have small breeds here right now.  I do not have any cats in my home so I am not sure how she would do with them.  She seems to mind her own business and follows directions pretty well. She can be a little bit apprehensive on the leash when you first get started but after about 2-3 minutes she will walk next to you you.  She does not get car sick.  She did great getting groomed and her coat is mostly curly when grown out. She was matted when I got her so I had to have her shaved down.  But it'll grow out fast in no time.  She will probably need to be groomed every 8 weeks. CHRISSY does not really play with the smaller dogs but she watches them and she has not picked up a toy.  She likes treats, bully sticks though.  There is no aggression in her in any area and she is a good companion.  She does like to run zoomies in the yards. More pictures are available.   If you are interested in adopting CHRISSY please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         April 28, 2024, 3:53 pm

Story
Harvey is ready to start looking for his forever home!  Harvey is a 4 month old Poodle mix! When Harvey was rescued from the puppy mill in PA, we were told he is a “mini Bernedoodle”, so we will stick with poodle mix!  Harvey is good with other dogs and loves to play. He would love another playful companion in the home. Harvey is good with kids but they should be stable on their feet as he is an energetic and very puppy like boy that would accidentally cause some tumbles. Harvey has not been around cats but we believe is young enough to do fine with them with proper integration. Harvey is working on house breaking and crate training and will need his forever home to continue to work with him on it. Harvey is a very energetic pup. He will need a home that will be sure to give him A LOT of exercise and play time. He is not the “sit still” type. Harvey will require grooming every 4-6 weeks so his forever home should be prepared for the additional costs of that throughout his life. Harvey will need a family that is willing to dedicate plenty of time to training and socializing him! As always, we will not consider homes that are looking for “hypoallergenic” dogs for allergy or asthma reasons.  If you would like to welcome Harvey home, please visit our website and fill out an application.  Astdogrescue.com ##2038071##

Story
Polo is the standard Poodle that you have been looking for!   This boy is roughly 5-7 years old and weighs 50 pounds with a little that he could gain to fill out better.   Recently his owner passed away and he was on the way to being dropped off at the local county shelter when a kind woman stepped up and took him home.  Soon Critter Cavalry Rescue was called about Polo and asked to help him find a foster and a new home.  This dog is the best and most chill dog on the planet. He is ALL ABOUT PEOPLE!   He is not a dog that is looking to join a family and be a playmate to another dog.  While he might play some….he just wants to be your shadow and your love.  He is housebroken, totally healthy, happy with a ready smile for everyone and good with all creatures he meets.  Polo needs to transition soon to a new family before he gets attached to the foster.   His heart and soul needs to be settled and reassured he will be loved and not bounced anymore. Critter Cavalry Rescue can help you adopt this boy right now with all the right credentials and good home that you can provide.  Please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   We transport to the northeast . PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 28, 2024, 4:57 pm
