Story
There is something wonderfully reassuring about bringing home a puppy who already knows how to be part of a family. Lucy Little Sprout isn't starting from scratch. She's already learning all the important basics, from house training and crate training to walking politely on leash, sharing toys, and making new dog friends with lovely manners. She's still every bit the fun, goofy puppy, just with a really solid foundation already in place. Go watch Lucy Little Sprout on YouTube, then come right back to read more. Her video is the best way to meet this fluffy little sweetheart, see her playful personality, and watch the kind of easygoing companion she's growing into. https://youtu.be/XyU1JY8OTjc We believe Lucy is a Poodle mix of some sort and is estimated to be 6 months old but she is a rescue, so her exact breed and age cannot be guaranteed. What we can guarantee is that she's ridiculously cute, with soft black curls kissed by warm brown highlights that somehow make her look freshly fluffed all the time. Lucy is being fostered in a loving home with children, and it shows. She already understands how to live inside a home, settles nicely in her crate, and has the kind of everyday manners that make life together feel easy. For a family looking to skip some of the biggest early puppy hurdles, Lucy has already been given a wonderful head start. She absolutely has the joyful side you'd hope for in a young dog. Squeaky toys are high on her list of favorite things, she'll happily splash around in the water when given the chance, and once she's comfortable, she bounces around with other dogs in that wonderfully goofy puppy way that makes you laugh without turning your living room upside down. One of Lucy's biggest strengths is how naturally polite she is with other dogs. She greets them thoughtfully, shares toys without fuss, and understands when it's someone else's turn for treats or attention. She especially enjoys kind, easygoing dogs that let friendships happen naturally, and she's the type of companion who would fit beautifully into a home with another respectful dog. Lucy would also be a lovely choice for someone welcoming their very first dog. She's already checking so many of the boxes that can feel intimidating to new owners, and she'll continue to flourish with regular walks, positive training, and fun ways to keep her clever little brain busy. Think puzzle toys, weekend adventures, backyard games, and plenty of opportunities to keep learning alongside her family. She has previously lived around a cat, but she does find cats pretty fascinating and will bark at them. Because of that, if her future home includes a cat, it should be a confident, dog-savvy feline, and her new family should be prepared to continue thoughtful introductions and training. If you're looking for a puppy that still has all the fun, all the goofy moments, and all the excitement of raising a young dog, but without feeling like you're starting completely from square one, Lucy might be exactly who you've been hoping to find. She already has the basics down. Now she's simply waiting for the family who gets to enjoy watching the rest of her story unfold. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
4 years old, 38 lbsYes, I’m gorgeous, and I know it\! But my beauty is only part of what makes me special\.I was lovingly surrendered when my owner’s life changed\. After she remarried and welcomed two very young children, I became nervous around all the activity\. I never growled or snapped—I would simply retreat to a quiet corner\. My mom loved me enough to realize I deserved a home where I could truly relax and be myself\.Now that I’m with my foster family, my sweet personality has blossomed\. I happily spend time with my foster mom’s older grandchildren, and everyone says I am the gentlest girl\. Even my veterinarian commented on what an amazing patient I am\!I enjoy going for walks on a leash, and I kennel quietly when riding in the car, making me a wonderful travel companion\. If you’re looking for a calm, loving, and well\-mannered dog who will be devoted to her family, I just might be your perfect match\. I can’t wait to meet the person who will love me forever\.Willow the Poodle is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Standard Poodle/Catahoula Leopard Dog

Story
12 weeks I’m a Poodle-houla, and that already makes me pretty special! My soft, fluffy coat and sweet personality are the perfect mix of my Standard Poodle mom and Catahoula dad. But what really makes me stand out are my gorgeous eyes—one bright blue and one warm brown. That means I’m double unique! Everywhere I go, people stop to admire my striking looks, but once they meet me, they fall in love with my gentle, loving nature. I’m ready to find a family who will cherish me for both my one-of-a-kind appearance and my big, sweet heart. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.
