Story
Meet Ranger (aka Frankie — our “Ole Blue Eyes”) Ranger — who we’ve been calling Frankie — is an incredibly sweet, people-loving puppy who is happiest when he’s close to his humans. He’s the kind of boy who watches you with total devotion, follows your lead, and bonds quickly Frankie happens to be deaf, but don’t let that fool you for a second — it hasn’t slowed him down one bit. In fact, he’s so attentive and tuned into his people that he’s already doing wonderfully with visual cues, learning through eye contact, and staying connected to whoever he’s with. He’s affectionate, playful, and full of puppy joy. What to know about Ranger/Frankie: About 11 weeks old Currently around 20 lbs Mini Bernedoodle (on the larger “mini” side — likely 45–50 lbs full grown) Deaf, but extremely people-focused and affectionate Friendly with dogs and cats High-energy, playful puppy Potty training in progress — going outside with normal puppy accidents Working on leash training Working on crate training — may cry at first, but settles more with consistency Ranger’s ideal home:Ranger would thrive in a fun, active home — ideally with a fenced yard where he can run, play, and burn off that puppy energy! He also needs a home with confident dogs who enjoy playtime and can help guide him. Because he is both a puppy and deaf, Ranger would do best in a home without young children, as little ones may accidentally startle him since he can’t hear them coming. He’d be happiest in a household where someone is home much of the time, and he is not a good fit for apartment living (he can be vocal at times, especially during crate training). Ranger does not resource guard food or treats, but he can growl when you take away items he shouldn’t have — so he’ll need continued training and guidance in that area (which is very common for puppies!). After he’s had his playtime and zoomies, Ranger’s favorite thing is curling up close and snuggling with his people. A home with experience with deaf dogs would be amazing — but what matters most is a family committed to learning and training alongside him as he grows. Ranger is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and a neuter deposit is required as part of the adoption process. He is available for adoption in New Jersey and surrounding areas.
