Per Volunteer 1/19: Meet Pluto — a sweet, neglected girl who is a heartbreaking reminder of why we need to stop irresponsible breeding and why shelters are not just full of pitties. This angel was surrendered because her owner was moving, but the condition she came in is truly devastating. Matted from head to toe and absolutely terrified of the loud shelter environment. She was very nervous at first, but after I sat with her for a while — with some pepperoni, other treats, and gentle, kind words — she slowly began to trust me. She leaned in for pets and found comfort just being close, and it completely broke my heart. Pluto deserves a loving home that will show her what real love, patience, and care look like.
