Crate-trained: Yes PLEASE NOTE: To apply to adopt, the application and adoption process can be found on our website greenmorerescue.org. Please read dog's bio carefully before applying. Meet Candy! Candy is a sweet and lovable Terrier mix with a playful personality, a little bit of sass, and a whole lot of charm. Born September 20, 2020, Candy is a girl who knows what she wants—and one thing she definitely wants is to be loved! Candy enjoys the simple things in life, from leisurely walks and cozy naps to spending quality time with her favorite people. She can be playful and silly, and she absolutely knows when the camera is on her. If there’s a photo being taken, don’t be surprised if Candy makes sure she’s right in the middle of it! Candy is a gentle companion who does well with other dogs and can happily coexist with canine friends. Since she’s a more mature girl, children in the home should understand how to be gentle and respectful with her. In return, Candy will give her people plenty of love, loyalty, and companionship. She doesn’t need a fenced yard and would be perfectly happy in a home where she can enjoy regular walks, cozy places to nap, and lots of affection. She’s looking for a family who will appreciate her sweet nature, playful side, and the occasional little dose of sass that makes her so special. Candy has the kind of personality that makes you smile. She’s affectionate, fun, photogenic, and just a little bit sassy—and we think that’s a pretty wonderful combination. If you’re looking for a loving companion who can keep you company, make you laugh, and happily curl up beside you at the end of the day, Candy may be your girl! She’s ready to find her forever home and a family who will love her just as much as she’ll love them. Adoption donation is $425 cash, $450 credit, debit or Venmo. This donation includes a microchip. Story
Viking is a 6 year old neutered male moyen poodle who weighs 33 pounds. These dogs were rescued from horrible conditions and needed to be shaved down to the skin. Viking is very shy, but thrives with another dog to follow around and will need a patient family. He would do best with a fenced in yard and is working on learning how to walk on a leash. Story
Meet Sander! At 16 years old, Sander is proof that it`s never too late for a fresh start. When Sander arrived, he was in heartbreaking condition. Years of neglect had left him severely matted and uncomfortable, and it was clear he hadn`t received the love and care every dog deserves. Thanks to some much-needed grooming and lots of TLC, Sander is finally feeling like himself again—and he`s ready to find the forever home he`s always deserved.Don`t let his age fool you—Sander still enjoys getting out for walks and happily trots along, taking in all the sights and smells. He`s also a certified foodie who never misses a meal or a tasty treat, and after a little adventure, he`s more than happy to curl up on the couch for a well-earned nap. Best of all, Sander appears to be housebroken, making him an easy companion to welcome into your home. We think he would do fine with another low-key dog and has met cats with no issues!Senior dogs have a special way of appreciating the simple things in life, and Sander is no exception. A soft bed, a leisurely walk, good food, and someone to love are all he could ever ask for. After everything he`s been through, we`d love nothing more than to see Sander spend his golden years surrounded by comfort, kindness, and the family he`s waited so long to find. If you have room in your heart for a sweet senior, Sander is ready to show you just how much love a 16-year-old dog still has to give.

Story
Socialization: Webb is cautious and respectful when meeting new people, however he quickly opens up and enjoys cuddles/pets; he is very much a Velcro dog and wants to be by your side. Webb prefers slow and respectful introductions with dogs, but is generally very friendly once he is used to them. He is very playful with dogs, and would love another young dog to play with and learn confidence from. He has met children and was respectful of them as well. Webb has been working hard on staying calm around our cat/the neighborhood cats but is easily over-stimulated around small animals/prey; due to this, we feel his ideal home would be cat-free, or one with a large, dog-saavy cat. Webb is a joy to have and would love to continue to blossom with another medium to large dog in the home. Training: Webb is very smart and has learned sit, down, stay, and kennel. He enjoys learning and training and would excel in a sport such as rally or obedience. Webb walks calmly on a leash with a no-pull harness, and has been taught to sit whenever his human stops. He is also working on impulse control with the command "break", and other games. Webb will need ongoing training, and specifically training to support his enrichment needs and provide a mental and physical job, he is not a dog who will be happy staying at home 24/7. Crate trained: Webby is crate trained, and will go to his kennel on command using the cue, "kennel". However, Webby struggles with separation anxiety and will vocalize in his kennel if left alone for any period of time; he can also be destructive, with a tendency to swallow items. Webb would love a person who can be home a lot, and/or take him with them when traveling. Alternatively, another dog companion who can stay home with him. Webb does well when my personal dog stays home, and will sleep in his kennel as long as he has buddy. He does not like to be the only one left alone. His humans should use caution when leaving him alone/out without more training or removing items that may be tempting to destroy and eat. Leash trained: Webby does great on a no-pull, front clip harness. He has learned to sit/lie down when cued on walks, and will automatically sit when his human stops while walking, or at intersections. Webb responds excellent to positive reinforcement and is highly food motivated. Webb will react to cats and squirrels on walks, and sometimes other reactive dogs, but can be redirected using treats. While this has improved, he still experiences nervousness to loud noises outside of the home. Webb requires an active person to accompany him on walks and would do best with someone who can handle his strength and excitement. Activity level/requirements: Webb is a high-energy breed and will need active daily enrichment in order for him to stay well regulated. Without proper mental and physical stimulation, he can become reactive/vocal and restless. After proper enrichment, Webb will match your energy levels and loves to nap on the couch. His ideal home is someone dedicated to his ongoing training and who can balance his activity needs. Fence requirements: While he has never tried to jump our fence, he could easily clear a fence less than 6ft. As a result, a home with tall fencing is ideal as he currently does not have strong recall or any training off-leash. Personality: Webby is extremely lovable, sweet, and playful. He is a true velcro dog, and does not want to leave his person's side. He can by shy or aloof at first, but once he learns to trust you, he will open up and show his playful/goofy personality! Webb has some reservations out in public, and will need someone dedicated to continue building his confidence. Health history: UTD on vaccinations, is spayed/neutered, microchipped, & on monthly heartworm preventative. Webb has completed Heartworm treatment and will need to be retested in 6 months. He also experienced a multi-fracture in his left front leg, and while he has no current limitations, arthritis may surface in the future. Foster comments: Webb's dream home would include an active and patient family who are dedicated to his ongoing training and anxiety needs. He would thrive in a home with another playful dog, and would love the chance to be with a family who he can go majority of places with. Webb is truly so special and we have adored having him, he will be a wonderful addition to the right home. Foster Location: Houston, TX Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000-mile distance between adopters & foster home. If interstate transport is provided for your adopted dog, there will be an additional charge of $75.00 for the required Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI).  Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000-mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000-mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog. Transports to far Western states, from Eastern states, may have additional restrictions. ##2623079##
