Story
Meet McGruff — the crime-solving pup your heart has been searching for! 🐾At just 1 year old, this handsome Schnauzer mix made his way to us all the way from Georgia. As for what he’s mixed with? That’s still up to the detectives to figure out! Whether it’s a stolen treat or a stolen heart, McGruff is always on the case. Before coming to us, McGruff was cat-tested and showed no issues beyond typical puppy curiosity. A dog-savvy cat would be the best match for him. When meeting new canine friends, McGruff can be a little forward at first, but he responds well to corrections and adjusts nicely with proper introductions.McGruff would do great in a home with kids who can help guide him as he continues learning his manners and polishing his crime-solving skills.Medical Note: McGruff has Ehrlichiosis and is currently on antibiotics. He may need antibiotics again if a flare-up occurs.Ehrlichiosis is a tick-borne illness that affects dogs. It is caused by bacteria transmitted through tick bites. Many dogs respond very well to treatment, especially when caught early. Some dogs can carry the infection long-term and may experience occasional flare-ups, which can cause symptoms like lethargy, decreased appetite, fever, or low platelet counts. These flare-ups are typically managed with another course of antibiotics and veterinary monitoring. With routine vet care and tick prevention, many dogs with Ehrlichiosis live happy, normal lives.McGruff is ready to close the case on homelessness and open a new one — finding his forever family! 🐶💙McGruff's adoption fee is $250, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption.
