Story
Meet Sander! At 16 years old, Sander is proof that it`s never too late for a fresh start. When Sander arrived, he was in heartbreaking condition. Years of neglect had left him severely matted and uncomfortable, and it was clear he hadn`t received the love and care every dog deserves. Thanks to some much-needed grooming and lots of TLC, Sander is finally feeling like himself again—and he`s ready to find the forever home he`s always deserved.Don`t let his age fool you—Sander still enjoys getting out for walks and happily trots along, taking in all the sights and smells. He`s also a certified foodie who never misses a meal or a tasty treat, and after a little adventure, he`s more than happy to curl up on the couch for a well-earned nap. Best of all, Sander appears to be housebroken, making him an easy companion to welcome into your home. We think he would do fine with another low-key dog and has met cats with no issues!Senior dogs have a special way of appreciating the simple things in life, and Sander is no exception. A soft bed, a leisurely walk, good food, and someone to love are all he could ever ask for. After everything he`s been through, we`d love nothing more than to see Sander spend his golden years surrounded by comfort, kindness, and the family he`s waited so long to find. If you have room in your heart for a sweet senior, Sander is ready to show you just how much love a 16-year-old dog still has to give.

Story
Winston is a big fluffy happy high energy boy! He is very sweet, loves hard and plays hard. Winston cannot go to a home with kids due to his mouthy form of play. There is no aggression just overly excited. He does know a few basic commands and takes treats very nicely. He does need some basic training especially on leash, he pulls and crisscross in front of you while walking. He can be very reactive to strangers when out walking as well. All that aside his personality is fantastic. He is an oversized puppy at heart and loves every person he meets.

Story
Stella is a 3.5-year-old, 45-pound dog whose life has been shaped by both deep love and repeated loss. None of it her fault. She was first surrendered to ACCT Philly due to seizures, placing her at risk with a time-stamped outcome. From there, she was rescued by Familiar Hearts Animal Society, given the care she needed, and finally adopted into a home of her own. For a while, Stella had what every dog deserves. But after nine months, she was returned. Again because of her seizures. And still, Stella remains exactly who she has always been :: a happy, gentle, deeply loving soul. She has a beautiful balance of energy, content to lounge by your side, yet quick to invite another dog into a playful game. She’s easy on leash, a wonderful walking companion, and adaptable to a variety of homes. Stella is especially tender with other animals, doing well with dogs and even cats, and she lights up around people, particularly children. Stella does have epilepsy, which means she will always experience seizures. Most are brief focal episodes lasting just seconds and don’t seem to interrupt her joy or engagement with life. Less frequently, she may have more significant seizures. She is on medication to help manage them, and her care team continues to learn what her “normal” looks like as her patterns evolve. What’s important to understand is this :: Stella is not a dog waiting to be fixed. She is a dog already living a full, connected, and joyful life. She is looking for a home that can meet her with steadiness and compassion. Someone who isn’t afraid of her diagnosis, but instead sees the extraordinary dog in front of them :: the one who keeps choosing joy, connection, and play, no matter how many times her world has changed. Stella has been let go more than once. She deserves this next home to be the one that holds. Apply to adopt her at https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoption-application. When approved, you can coordinate your meeting with her foster. Kennel License 18972

Story
Meet Kotter, a big, beautiful St. Bernard–Doodle who is just over 10 months old and already weighs about 95 pounds! And yes—he is still growing! This gentle giant is looking for a very special forever family who understands that big dogs sometimes need a little extra time, patience, and guidance.Kotter is a sweet and gentle boy, but he can be insecure and skittish when faced with new situations. He will need an owner who can offer him kindness, patience, and experience with large-breed dogs while helping him build confidence and learn that the world is a safe place. A confident female dog in the home may be a wonderful match for Kotter, giving him a friend to help show him the ropes and help him feel more comfortable.Because of his size and current needs, Kotter is not recommended for a home with children and is not suited for apartment or condo living. A secure fenced yard is required so he has plenty of room to stretch those long legs and enjoy the outdoors.Kotter is still just a puppy in a very big body, and with the right person, we believe he has so much potential to blossom into an amazing companion.Kotter is waiting for someone who will believe in him, be patient with him, and give him the time he needs to become the confident dog we know he can be
