Smokey is bravely embracing his new life. He is still skittish, though his trust is improving daily as he learns that human hands bring kindness. He already shows immense love for gentle contact, melting into pets and enjoying a good brushing session. He’s done well with kids in the past and tends to prefer the company of female dogs over other males. House- and crate-training are going well, proving he is quickly adapting to the comforts of home life. Smokey follows his foster family faithfully from room to room, clearly thriving on connection. She knows her desires and goes after them without a second thought. Sure, if you leave food unattended, she won’t hesitate to help herself, but she’s not food aggressive—she's just a lady, after all.
