Max wants nothing more than to be close to his person, share moments, and simply be part of your day. He absolutely lights up when volunteers arrive at the shelter — to him, that means a walk, fresh air, and attention from the people he adores. And during quieter moments, when caregivers sit down for lunch or take a short break, Max curls up right beside them, perfectly content just to be near someone. He’s affectionate without being demanding, and he gives his heart easily to those who show him kindness. Despite being abandoned by his previous owners, Max has never lost his love or faith in humans. He is a true companion — steady, gentle, and deeply loyal. Because of his easygoing personality, he could fit beautifully into many types of households, from a quiet apartment to a family home with other pets. Max’s story is heartbreaking but hopeful. When his owners moved away and left him behind in the backyard, a concerned neighbor contacted the shelter we support. They rushed to bring him to safety, knowing he wouldn’t survive on the streets.
