This girl has been through a lot of changes and needs a special person to love her forever. Macy IS an approx 10 year old, 17 lb house trained Poodle/Bichon mix (best guess) who found herself in a shelter after her devoted mom passed away. In all honesty, Macy is a bit finicky, isn't too much of snuggler, and needs time to relax and warm up to a new person, BUT at the end of the day, she's still a Teflon dog who'll follow you everywhere. She loves being outside and going for walks, loves meeting other dogs, and is the epitome of a couch potato. She's looking for that one special person in a quiet home who may also be a bit finicky but needs a loving little shadow right by their side. This handsome poodle mix is approx 3 years and 40 lbs. He was found laying in a ditch unable to move and taken to the local city shelter in Houston TX. His x rays showed that his sacrum had separated from his Lumbar Spine, he also had a bullet in him, but they did not feel that it was affecting his ability to walk, Our orthopedic surgeon said it was an injury that was unable to be repaired. We started him on some physical therapy and after a few days he was able to stand up and while his back legs remained crossed he was able to hop around the yard We started him on a rehab program with the Gulf Coast Physical Therapy and after a few weekly sessions, he is able to run around the yard like the other dogs!! The legs are now uncrossed and he hops with his back legs, he has started to walk at times like a normal dog and we are hoping with some more underwater treadmill sessions that he will continue to improve. He will go out to the yard with the other dogs to urinate etc but at night only he cannot control himself and he sleeps in a crate with a puppy pad or a belly band. He is a sweet boy, he loves to be with people, he gets along with the other rescues but does not like big active dogs and will bark and chase them. We had a special cart made for him so that he can go on long trips around the neighborhood or to the dog park etc.. he still prefers to hop on his own, but it works great for when he gets tired. we do have videos avail for anyone interested in adopting him, he does have some urine staining on his back legs and body and most of it will come out when he gets a bath, but he is not perfect and an owner will need to give him weekly baths. OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with no children under the age of 8, and experienced dog owners only. WE REQUIRE VET RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. RECORDS MUST SHOW THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER AS THE OWNER The total adoption fee of $500 ( and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper and canine influenza, and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. We also provide a free wellness visit to the South Wilton Vet group if convenient for you. Hi my name is odie I’m 5yrs old all white poodle. My family brought me in when I was a few months old from another family member that’s when I met my brother he love me so much. I’m very playful & loving I may just require alil extra attention. One main thing about me I won’t use the bathroom indoors let’s say I’m well trained. I eat 2/3 times a day walked 3 times a day. And I’m like a personal security guard I could hear you coming home from far away. What can I say I’m a very smart poodle. I just don’t like to be alone when I know someone is home. I have no problem eating food dog but alil human snack is Okay !! Unfortunately my family are unable to take care of me anymore makes me sad but I hope you could love me just as much as they did!!! By the ways I kinda don’t get alone with other male dogs unfortunately I feel like I’m the boss sometimes. I’m a loyal son that’s very smart that needs a loving family just like my first family !!

Fifi is a gorgeous, very social, black and white standard party poodle who was born 3/4/23. This sweet girl weighs about 40 pounds and is looking for a mom. She is great with other dogs and loves to play with her toys. Fifi is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, received a Proheart 6 shot and is also being kept on flea and tick prevention to maintain her good health. Her adoption donation is $1000 plus $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Fifi and shower her with all the love and affection she craves, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview.
