Story
Hello, I'm Olivia! I am a bashful and beautiful pup looking to find my furever home. I can be a bit shy at first, but I do enjoy attention and TLC once I warm up to new people. I can also be a little nervous around other dogs but may do well with a calm one given proper introduction. I don't know how I feel about cats but I am willing to try. I am open to living with children as well, as long as they can be patient and gentle with me. I am a sweet young gal and I don't want to be cooped up in the shelter for too long. I hope you will come meet me soon!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Fifi is a gorgeous, very social, black and white standard party poodle who was born 3/4/23. This sweet girl weighs about 40 pounds and is looking for a mom. She is great with other dogs and loves to play with her toys. Fifi is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, received a Proheart 6 shot and is also being kept on flea and tick prevention to maintain her good health. Her adoption donation is $1000 plus $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Fifi and shower her with all the love and affection she craves, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Gigi, a gorgeous, female, silver standard poodle, was rescued from a local shelter on 11/6/23, and was guesstimated to be about a year old. She weighed 41.4 pounds and was a little thin. While her coat wasn’t terrible, hair completely covered her beautiful eyes so that you couldn’t see them. After being brought up to date on vaccinations, she was groomed and it was easy to see what a gorgeous girl she is and her sweetness is every bit as spectacular as her looks. The groomer said that as she gets older her color will lighten to the color of her face, which was a beautiful silver color. The groomer said she is what is called a silver poodle. At the shelter they said she was good with everybody, dogs, cats, and people, and that definitely seems to be the case. She rides well in the car and in fact, she seems to love to ride in the car. She walks well on a leash and has not had any accidents in her foster mom’s house. She is an all-round super sweet girl. She is microchipped and was scheduled to be spayed on 11/16/23 but became ill at that time and had to be hospitalized for 8 days. All tests came back negative, but she began to get better with the administration of Prednisone. She was rail thin when she was released back to the care of her foster mom. Our vet wanted her to weigh 50 pounds before she was spayed. She finally gained the weight and was spayed and tested heartworm negative on 3/12/24. Her daily dosage of prednisone was slowly decreased to 5 mg every other day, by the end of March and she is doing fantastic. We feel she is ready to find her forever home. Gigi is located in Arkansas and her foster mom thinks she is the best. The adoption donation for Gigi is $1200 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Gigi, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi everyone, I'm Eleanor, aka Lenny! I'm a distinguished 3 year old standard sized poodle with gorgeous markings! I have put my years as a momma in commercial breeding behind me and I'm ready to learn what life is like in a safe and loving home. I am approximately 43lbs and I am crate trained, sleeping quietly in there at bedtime and I wait patiently to be let out.I will need some work with my ability to counter surf! I can really reach things and get into some precarious situations so a mindful eye on me will be needed. I do very well with bathing which is good because my coat will require frequent grooming appointments. I am housebroken, although when I go to my new home, I may regress. Thankfully I am an intelligent breed so things come fairly easy to me. I thrive on routine. I am a laidback type of gal, preferring a more calm and quiet life overall. I do like to watch tv and I'm currently binge watching Bridgerton. I enjoy the outdoors as well though, so an active family that enjoys walks/hiking would be best for me. I am very well behaved on my leash and walk like a dream! I will require a fenced in yard so you could say I'm a versatile type of gal! Loud sounds and sudden movement can startle me at times. Being kind and gentle are what I thrive to have in my home. My past experiences have made me timid but every day I'm becoming more and more confident and trusting. I'm a very sweet girl with lots of love to give. So far I haven't met a dog I did not like, and I would really like another fur sibling in my forever home .I have yet to meet up with a cat. I've had limited exposure to children but I think I prefer the company of those older. I am UTD on my vaccines, preventatives and spayed. If you are easy going, loving, and ready to continue to help me along on my journey to seeing what the good life is all about, please apply today!
