Story
Luke is a 4-year-old, 68-pound Standard Poodle with a story of resilience, growth, and hope. After spending the first four years of his life in a commercial breeding kennel, Luke joined rescue and quickly found what everyone hoped would be his forever home. Unfortunately, despite the love and dedication of his adopters, it became clear that the match wasn't quite right for either Luke or the family. Wanting the very best for him, they made the difficult decision to help him find a home better suited to his needs. They even took the time to create a detailed guide about Luke to help his future family understand just what a special dog he is. Luke is an intelligent, sensitive soul who has made tremendous progress learning how to navigate the world. He loves long walks where he can stop and sniff to his heart's content, car rides to anywhere, tasty treats (especially watermelon), and spending time with people he trusts. He's a quick learner who already knows cues like "sit" and "touch," and has done wonderfully with positive reinforcement training. His trainer describes him as a bright dog with excellent potential who has made impressive progress building confidence. Once Luke feels comfortable, his goofy personality starts to shine. He enjoys zooming around the yard, lounging in cool, quiet spots, gently pawing his favorite people for attention, and soaking up affection on his own terms. He also enjoys the company of other friendly dogs and has lived successfully around dogs of various sizes. Like many dogs who missed out on important early socialization, Luke can be cautious with new people and overwhelming situations. Crowds, loud noises, sudden movements, and busy households can be difficult for him. He is looking for a patient, understanding family committed to continuing his positive reinforcement training and celebrating the small victories along the way. A predictable routine, calm environment, and people willing to let him build trust at his own pace will help him thrive. Luke has already come so far from the scared dog he once was, and we know his perfect family is still out there. If you're looking for a loyal companion and are willing to give a deserving dog the time and understanding he needs, Luke just might be your perfect match. His greatest adventure is still waiting to begin. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. Viking is a 6 year old neutered male moyen poodle who weighs 33 pounds. These dogs were rescued from horrible conditions and needed to be shaved down to the skin. Viking is very shy, but thrives with another dog to follow around and will need a patient family. He would do best with a fenced in yard and is working on learning how to walk on a leash. Story
Corky ❤️ A Sweet Boy Just Waiting to Feel Safe Corky is a handsome little poodle mix, who is about a year old and weighing 53 pounds, has been through a pretty big change in his young life. Corky and his brothers were left behind at a cabin when the renter moved away. For these dogs, that cabin and the life they knew was their entire world — and suddenly, everything familiar was gone. The man who raised them just disappeared and abandoned them. Because of that, Corky is understandably very shy when he is in a new or unfamiliar situation. New places, new people, and especially busy environments can be overwhelming for him here in his first week of being away from the original place he was born. If you take the time to slow down and let Corky figure things out at his own pace, you begin to see a completely different dog. Once Corky honestly settles in and realizes he is safe, he is an incredibly sweet boy. When we met him in a setting where he felt more comfortable, he was friendly and gentle. The shy behavior we see in unfamiliar places isn't who Corky is at his heart — it's simply how he copes when he isn't sure what is happening around him. Corky has lived with other dogs, including his dad and brothers, and seems comfortable having canine companionship around him. He enjoyed being outside and having the familiar routine of his previous life. We think another confident, friendly dog could potentially be a wonderful companion for him as he learns to trust and experience new things. Please don't let his initial shyness fool you — this boy is smart! Corky is very trainable and has so much potential. With patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and someone willing to celebrate the little victories, we believe his confidence will continue to grow. He may need a little extra time in the beginning, but every step forward will be worth it.   At the vet, Corky is especially shy and overwhelmed, which isn't surprising given everything that is new to him. But when he is somewhere he feels comfortable, we see that sweet personality starting to emerge. He just needs someone who understands that trust isn't built overnight.   Corky will do best with an adopter who is willing to support him on his journey rather than expect him to immediately be the confident, outgoing dog he may eventually become. He needs someone patient and kind, someone who will give him a safe place to decompress, a predictable routine, and plenty of encouragement. There is something especially rewarding about watching a shy dog realize that he is finally home. We believe Corky has the potential to become a wonderful, loving companion once he has the security and stability he has been missing. He didn't choose to be left behind. He didn't choose to have his whole world change. But with the right person beside him, Corky can learn that the next chapter of his life can be so much better than the first.    Corky is looking for someone who will give him the time, patience, and love he needs to blossom. In return, we think he will give you something pretty special — the joy of watching a sweet, smart little dog finally discover that he is safe, loved, and home.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in being the lifechanging person and family in Corky's life. Story
Stella is a 3.5-year-old, 45-pound dog whose life has been shaped by both deep love and repeated loss. None of it her fault. She was first surrendered to ACCT Philly due to seizures, placing her at risk with a time-stamped outcome. From there, she was rescued by Familiar Hearts Animal Society, given the care she needed, and finally adopted into a home of her own. For a while, Stella had what every dog deserves. But after nine months, she was returned. Again because of her seizures. And still, Stella remains exactly who she has always been :: a happy, gentle, deeply loving soul. She has a beautiful balance of energy, content to lounge by your side, yet quick to invite another dog into a playful game. She’s easy on leash, a wonderful walking companion, and adaptable to a variety of homes. Stella is especially tender with other animals, doing well with dogs and even cats, and she lights up around people, particularly children. Stella does have epilepsy, which means she will always experience seizures. Most are brief focal episodes lasting just seconds and don’t seem to interrupt her joy or engagement with life. Less frequently, she may have more significant seizures. She is on medication to help manage them, and her care team continues to learn what her “normal” looks like as her patterns evolve. What’s important to understand is this :: Stella is not a dog waiting to be fixed. She is a dog already living a full, connected, and joyful life. She is looking for a home that can meet her with steadiness and compassion. Someone who isn’t afraid of her diagnosis, but instead sees the extraordinary dog in front of them :: the one who keeps choosing joy, connection, and play, no matter how many times her world has changed. Stella has been let go more than once. She deserves this next home to be the one that holds. Apply to adopt her at https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoption-application. When approved, you can coordinate your meeting with her foster. Kennel License 18972

Story
Everyone meet Miss Tulip. Tulip is a 3yr old(ish) Merle mini poodle weighing in at 12lbs and boy is she a stunner!!! With her beautiful Merle coloring and her ice blue eye she is sure to melt your heart. Tulip is still a little shy and will require a very patient and understanding home. Hi friends, it’s me Tulip. I’d like to start by telling you I’m still pretty skeptical of the world. My life before rescue wasn’t great, I hold a lot of trauma from that. My foster family is teaching me that not all people are mean and I trust them, but Im still a little nervous. I will need a new family that is quiet and chill with very minimal commotion. Another furry sibling who is confident and chill would be amazing. I love all my foster siblings very much, both canine and feline, and I know having another doggie friend will make my transition a little less scary. My foster mom says I am a Queen with the potty thing, whatever that means. Maybe she is happy cause I never go inside. I’m also ok with a crate. My favorite place to be is on my dog bed, except for when the black kitty of the house won’t leave me alone, then I take a nappy in my crate. I don’t get on the furniture, yet. My foster mom keeps trying, bless her heart. Tulip has not had much practice on a leash, they scare her. We have no doubts she will be fine one day but today, she is not so she will require a physically fenced in yard. This is NOT NEGOTIABLE! She is UTD on all vaccines and preventatives. She has also been spayed and had a full dental. If you are the calm and quiet home with a fenced in yard that Miss Tulip needs to be her bestest self, please apply for her at www.zoeshouserescue.com Kennel License 9117 Reading PA 19608

Story
Sweet and shy Kira was surrendered from a commerical breeder. She is a 1 year old, ~40lb golden doodle. Kira means sunshine. Unfortunately, her previous life does not appear to have include any sunshine. It is said some dogs need so much extra love to forget about their past life. She definitely falls in that category. Now in foster she is very slowly starting to shine. She is excellent in the car, learns a routine quickly, and does not have accidents in the house. She could be your one and only for you to give all your attention or could share with a calm fur sibling. Her favorite toy is a tennis ball. She throws it and catches it by herself. Kira requires a fully fenced yard, as she is still very scared of most everything. She needs a super patient person to continue breaking down the wall she has built around herself - we promise she will be worth the wait. We are expecting that Kira will specifically need more adjustment time than some others - she does well with consistency and having routine throughout her day. In her current foster home she has made much progress - initially needing to be carried outdoors. Now Kira will walk on a leash and is known to play with her tennis ball and explore the yard, or will hang out with her foster mom and relax. She is not fond of the male in the foster home, so an all female home would be best for her. Kira came to us extremely matted, and went through a beautiful transformation with her first real haircut. She will need routine grooming to keep her looking her best! She is microchipped, and has been on flea/tick/heartworm prevention since coming into the rescue and current on vaccines and has been spayed. If you are the person to give lots of love and time to this girl apply today at: http://www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoe's House Rescue Kennel 9117 Reading PA 19608

Story
Meet Sugarplum! Age: 7years Breed: Mini Poodle Size: Small Energy Level: Moderate Sugarplum is a gentle, loving little poodle with a soft spirit and so much love to give. She may be a bit shy at first and needs some time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she becomes a devoted and affectionate companion. She walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys calm, relaxed strolls. Sugarplum would do best in a home with another friendly dog to help her feel secure and show her the ropes. She also does well with older, respectful children who understand that she may need a little space as she settles in. She is crate and potty trained, regression is common with a change in environment. Sugarplum has been through quite a bit and is looking for a compassionate adopter who will continue to support her care. She has had a dental procedure with extractions and has undergone surgery to remove both mammary chains due to multiple mammary tumors. She also has a stage 3 heart murmur, which will require daily medication for the rest of her life, along with annual checkups with a cardiologist to ensure she stays as healthy as possible. Despite everything she’s been through, Sugarplum has a quiet resilience and a sweet nature that shines through. With patience, understanding, and love, she will blossom into a deeply loyal companion. If you’re looking for a special little dog who will reward your kindness with unwavering devotion, Sugarplum may be the perfect addition to your home. Sugarplum is being fostered in Lancaster, PA and all potential adopters will need to travel there for a meet and greet!  Kennel License 9117 Reading PA 19608
