Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Thank you, HSMC Staff ADOPTION FEES Adoption Fees may change without notice. Story
Meet Courie!  Is this not the most adorable little girl?!?! She’s an extra special girl, looking for an extra special home! Courie - pronounced KUR•eee and short for “Courage - is a 1(ish) yr old Schnauzer mix. Courie was found running scared down Peachtree Industrial Rd in Atlanta. Shelter staff quickly realized that she would not handle a crazy shelter environment very well and so reached out to RMG so she could get into a foster home. It took a few weeks of being absolutely terrified, but once Courie started to decompress we finally got to see glimpses of her amazing personality!  Courie LOVES to play with friends - her current foster bestie is Huxley! She will definitely need a more confident playful dog in her forever home to play with and to help her continue to build confidence. One fear Courie is still working on conquering, though, is her fear of men so she will need an all female household - one that is calm and patient, and has experience with timid/fearful dogs. We know this might seem like a bit of a unicorn situation, but Courie deserves nothing but the best and so we are off in search of the best for her! Are you the Unicorn Courie is waiting for? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org   ##2629744##

Story
Charlie needs a foster home!! Meet Charlie — 2-3 Year old Schnauzer/Terrier With a Big, Brave Heart.  Charlie is young, but he has already endured more than any dog  should. When he was found, our vet believes he had been neglected for six months to a year. His 13 lb body was hidden beneath painful mats that took hours to remove. But underneath it all… was the sweetest little soul just waiting to be seen.    Despite everything he’s been through, he is gentle, loving, and endlessly forgiving. He melts into your arms when you hold him and looks up at you with the softest eyes — the kind that say “thank you” without a single word. He’s wonderful with other dogs and even cats, and he just wants to be close to someone who cares.  Charlie checked out well at the vet (aside from a treatable eye infection he’s receiving medication for), and now he’s finally ready to start his new life… but he needs a safe place to land. We are desperately searching for a foster home for this precious little boy. After so much neglect, he deserves warmth, softness, and love — even if only until he finds his forever family.  Do you have room in your home… and in your heart? He’s good with cats and other dogs. Charlie has eye mediations for both eyes and is doing great. He may need eye medications for life for dry eyes and potential adopters need to understand this if interested in adopting Charlie.January 15, 2026, 5:12 pm
