I'm Maximus, the funniest dog you'll meet. I ended up here after chasing a squirrel into a birthday party, accidentally diving into the cake! Everyone laughed, except the cake. Now, I'm looking for a new adventure, preferably squirrel-free. Adopt me for endless laughs and companionship!July 6, 2026, 2:19 pm

Story
Odin and Nixi came into the shelter together and evidently the owner never came for them. They were close to being put down. Odin is lovely and super sweet like his sister. They are great with other dogs and have calm demeanors. He is about 3 years old and weighs 46 lbs. Potty trained as well. He, like his sister has beautiful eyes. ##2782331##

Story
I adopted Gemi from Humane Society in April of 2016. Later in August, I adopted a schnoodle puppy from a friend, thinking it would be good company for Gemi. But she was not having it! I hoped with training and time she will eventually come to accept her, so I had to take my puppy to work until she was old and big enough to stand up for herself. She grew up to be much bigger than Gemi and after a couple of years, Gemi stopped harassing her. My schnoodle loves other dogs and wanted to play with Gemi and she wouldn't have it. She wanted another dog to play with, so in 2018 i found a Morky (4 yrs old and 8 lbs at the time, 13 lbs now) and he and my schnoodle have become best buds. However, Gemi has absolutely refused to accept the morky and frequently tries to attack and bite him. This has created a very tense environment in our home. So, I have decided to rehome Gemi, where she could be the one and only! Gemi is a great dog by herself and is healthy, most likely many years left to live.

Story
Beta is being fostered in NC Such a sweet laid back lady who is a joy to have around! ... enjoys being scratched and loved on, but not too much of a cuddler🤷‍♀️ or at least not with me…. Chewing on bone marrow is a favorite pastime, along with wandering around the yard if it is not hot out😂. She isn’t particularly attached to any specific bed, she kind of likes to bounce from one place to another…sort of like Goldie Locks😉. If she is needing to go out she starts wandering around, so regular bathroom outings are definitely suggested… she is wonderful on a leash, slowly enjoys sniffing everything while perking up at all the sounds around and responding with a few barks that are too adorable. As for eating, she is definitely spoiled, plain dry kibble is not going to do it. So we rotate different foods mixed into her kibble… she is quite fond of chicken broth and rice with frozen mixed veggies though so she gets that several times a week. Shredded boiled chicken and plain yogurt is another favorite… it has been a wonderful experience watching her come out of her shell, and I’m sure she has only begun that personality development… she would make anyone a fabulous companion, excellent with dogs of all sizes and cats are of zero interest to her, she just passes them by or lays with them. I can’t say enough of how much of a joy she is to have around. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
