PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email.
It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life.
The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old.
GARFIELD and his 3 siblings (ODIE and JINX) were part of a huge TNR effort in El Monte, California. The group TNRed all the adult cats and rescued moms and kittens. We were asked to find them good homes. So they went with one of our fosters.
Meet GARFIELD: The Resilient, Shy Orange Tabby Ready for His Forever Home!
GARFIELD is a sweet, shy orange tabby with a heart full of potential. He was part of a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) project in El Monte, where he was rescued after living as a stray. He had a rough start in life, struggling with illness, but his resilience and strength have carried him through. Now, he’s ready to leave his past behind and find a loving, patient home where he can truly thrive.
About Garfield:
Breed: Orange Tabby
Personality: Shy, Playful, Resilient, Social
Likes: Playing, Other Cats, Observing, Soft Blankets
Dislikes: Fast movements, being overwhelmed
Special Needs: Needs a quiet, calm home with time and patience to adjust
Garfield may be a little shy at first, but don’t let that fool you—he has so much love and potential to give. Once he feels comfortable in a space, he opens up with the cutest bursts of energy, especially when it’s time to play. Garfield LOVES playing with toys, and his playful side shines through when he’s feeling safe and secure. He also has a special fondness for other cats, and would likely do well in a home with fellow feline friends who can help him feel more confident.
Garfield has a bit of a cautious nature, especially when encountering new people or situations. But this sweet boy has come a long way from the sick, scared stray he once was, and with patience, he’ll continue to blossom into the affectionate and loyal companion we know he can be.
What Garfield Needs:
A patient adopter who understands his shy nature and can give him time to adjust.
A calm, quiet environment where Garfield feels safe and can take things at his own pace.
A home with other cats would be ideal, as Garfield enjoys the company of his fellow felines.
Gentle handling and a soft, consistent routine to help him build trust and confidence.
Time, understanding, and a willingness to let him come to you on his terms.
Why Adopt Garfield?
GARFIELD may be shy at first, but he has a world of potential to be someone’s best friend. He’s come a long way from his difficult beginnings, and with the right environment and patient adopter, GARFIELD will make a wonderful companion. His love for playing, his affection for other cats, and his resilient spirit show that, given the chance, GARFIELD will bring joy and comfort to any home.
If you’re ready to give GARFIELD the safe and loving home he deserves, he’s waiting to meet you. With time, patience, and love, GARFIELD will become the best friend you’ve always wanted.

If the CAT/KITTEN is still listed (meaning here or other websites) they are still available. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets.
Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption.
We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. If we haven't reached out....be patient.
GARFIELD is ALREADY fully vetted.
The adoption fee of $200 covers:
Neuter
FVRCP shots
RABIES shot
FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative)
Drontal Dewormer
Stronghold Flea Control
Microchip
We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens. So, we do not do DISCOUNTS.
If for some unfortunate reason you missed out on the kitten/cat you emailed about...I'm sure that we could help you with another rescue baby! Just ask!
