Meet Gizmo. At 15 years old, Gizmo deserves a soft place to land and someone to love her through her golden years. This beautiful senior girl has spent her entire life in a home where she was deeply loved. Sadly, when her family lost their house, they had to make the heartbreaking decision to surrender her. Through no fault of her own, Gizmo has found herself at Best Pals, a place that is simply overwhelming for a cat who has only ever known the comfort of a home. She is frightened at the rescue, but underneath that fear is a kind and gentle soul who has spent years as a cherished companion. Gizmo has lived around dogs and has done well with them. She can also get along with most cats given a slow and proper introduction. Senior cats have so much love left to give. They ask for so little in return, just patience, kindness, and a place to feel safe again.

Little Guy is a very friendly stray that started visiting my yard last year. I believe he is around 3 years old. I am looking to re-home him because I found out that he is FIV positive after taking him to the vet for a broken leg. I wanted to adopt him but I have an 18 year old cat who can’t be exposed. Little Guy needs to be an inside only cat because his leg break was pretty severe. It is in the last stages of healing, currently. Little Guy needs a home with a little extra love where he is the only cat, or with other FIV positive cats. He can also be around dogs. He does alright with children but can get overstimulated. He loves to look out the window and watch birds and he is very food motivated. He is also playful and sweet. He is updated on all of his shots, de-wormed, no parasites, and he is neutered.

Yoshi was acquired June 15 2025, He was given away at a Amazon warehouse and been home and loved for a year. What I’m looking for in a new home is someone loving and gentle enough to understand him. Id describe yoshi with is Energetic but at the same time beware he will wanna be in every room with you

Charlie is a sweet orange boy who is a cuddle bug once he gets comfortable. He’s a year and a half old, litter box trained and is a wonderful companion. I would prefer he goes with his brother, Atlas due to them being bonded.

Chewbacca is a big, sweet, gentle boy who recently came to Best Pals after a sad change in his family's circumstances. He is incredibly affectionate, talkative and has the kindest soul. He is also a front paw declaw. Shortly after arriving, we noticed Chewbacca was visiting his litter box a little more often than normal. To be safe, we brought him to our veterinarian. An exam revealed a bladder stone, along with the need for a dental cleaning and a few extractions. The good news is that Chewbacca's stone was analyzed and found to be a common and often manageable type. With a special urinary diet, he should be able to stay healthy and prevent future stones. This poor guy has lost his home, gone through surgery, and is adjusting to a whole new life. Through it all, he remains a loving and gentle cat who just wants a cozy and calm place to rest where he can feel safe and protected.

Onyx is a sweet, affectionate boy with lots of love to give. He enjoys chasing toys, soaking up pets, and once he gets to know you, he's happiest curled up in your lap. Onyx has the sweetest meow and absolutely loves attention. While he tolerates being held, he'd much rather choose to come to you for affection. He's the kind of cat who builds a genuine bond and rewards your patience with cuddles and companionship. Onyx came from a cat colony, so he wouldn't mind sharing his home with another friendly feline. He hasn't been around dogs or young children, so slow introductions would be best. If you're looking for a curious, loving companion who will happily explore by your side before settling into your lap, Onyx might be your perfect match.

Meet Lovebug! This sweet little girl lives up to her name. She loves to purr and is so sweet. She was found as a stray so we don’t know much about her past life. She came to us pretty sick, at first we were scared it was cancer. But with some medications and love, she improved! She seems to have some underlying chronic inflammatory condition of her lungs, possibly asthma. Could also be allergies, we are not sure. But with periodic steroid injections, she gets comfortable and has shown improvement.   Lovebug seems to have a sensitive stomach anytime she is given canned food, but she does great on her dry food. She does well with other cats and all humans-children too.    We believe she is older, possibly 10-11 years old. She is a petite little girl, about 7.2 pounds. She would love to find a home to rest in and be around people.  The $25.00 adoption fee (  payable by cash or check only  ) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; senior bloodwork, microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV testing.  Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application.
