Story
Meet Shadow, a beautiful 10-year-old girl with a heart full of loyalty. Shadow devotedly stayed by her owner’s side during recovery from a hip replacement—truly a constant companion. Sadly, due to ongoing health challenges, her owner could no longer care for her, and Shadow came into our rescue. Shadow is a typical cat who enjoys affection on her own terms, and she’ll do best with someone who respects her boundaries. She has lived with other cats and small dogs, making her a great fit for a calm, loving home. If you’re looking for a sweet, independent companion, Shadow may be your perfect match. She has excellent litter box habits, is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and had full bloodwork. She is a healthy cat with no medical concerns. If you are interested in Shadow, please email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application available here: https://tysonsplacerescue.org/cat-and-dog-adoptions/#adopt (scroll down to the bottom for the application).

Story
Meet Taz! Taz is a spunky, affectionate 6-year-old guy who came to us when his owner could no longer care for him due to her own health issues. He’s a friendly, outgoing cat who truly enjoys people and would make a wonderful companion. Taz loves his wet food, enjoys playing with toys, and can often be found basking in a sunny spot after climbing to the very top of his cat tree—one of his favorite pastimes! He loves his people and will greet you at the door. He is super smart and knows how to play fetch - he will bring a toy right to you for you to throw again. He also likes to bring you gifts - toy mice and stuffed toy fish to show you that he loves you. He has excellent litter box manners and an easygoing personality that makes him a great choice for a first-time cat owner. Taz is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and has had full bloodwork. He’s a healthy boy with no known medical issues and is ready to find his forever home. If you’re interested in adopting Taz, please email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com or complete an adoption application here: https://tysonsplacerescue.org/cat-and-dog-adoptions/#adopt (Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application.) Story
Mochi was my first cat—adopted during the COVID shutdown when she was just 8 weeks old. For the past 5 years, she’s been my little shadow, always curious, smart, and full of personality. She’s incredibly affectionate with people and loves to play, especially fetch with balled-up tinfoil. She’s also a bit of a trickster—she’s figured out how to open cupboards, unscrew feeder lids, and will find bread no matter where you hide it. Recently, I moved in with my girlfriend who has multiple cats, and unfortunately, Mochi hasn’t been able to get along with them despite weeks of slow introductions. With a baby on the way, we’ve realized that rehoming her is the kindest and safest option for everyone involved—including Mochi. She’s a wonderful, loving cat who just needs to be the only pet in a quiet home where she can thrive as the center of someone’s world. Letting her go is incredibly hard, but I know she’ll bring so much joy to the right person.

Story
Meet Lovebug! This sweet little girl lives up to her name. She loves to purr and is so sweet. She was found as a stray so we don’t know much about her past life. She came to us pretty sick, at first we were scared it was cancer. But with some medications and love, she improved! She seems to have some underlying chronic inflammatory condition of her lungs, possibly asthma. Could also be allergies, we are not sure. But with periodic steroid injections, she gets comfortable and has shown improvement.   Lovebug seems to have a sensitive stomach anytime she is given canned food, but she does great on her dry food. She does well with other cats and all humans-children too.    We believe she is older, possibly 10-11 years old. She is a petite little girl, about 7.2 pounds. She would love to find a home to rest in and be around people.  The $25.00 adoption fee (  payable by cash or check only  ) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; senior bloodwork, microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV testing.  Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Cats for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application.  Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption. Story
Eevee is a sweet, three year old girl and one of the biggest love bugs you’ll ever meet. She adores being hand fed treats like the queen she is, getting chin scratches and gentle pets. She also has the cutest little quirk, when her purr motor really gets going, she drools from pure happiness! Eevee lives comfortably with other cats here at Best Pals, so she would do well with friendly feline companions. Because of her past, she will need a home without dogs. She may come across as shy at first, but once she settles in, we’re confident she’ll be the type of cat who wants to stay right by your side. Eevee is ready to find a loving home where she can feel safe, adored and spoiled the way she deserves.

Story
Our beautiful boy Simba is looking for his fur-ever home! Simba was returned to us. He was adopted from us about 7 years ago as a kitten. He was adopted with his brother (their names were Timone and Pumbaa). Sadly Simba was returned but his brother stayed in their home. He now has to navigate a new life without his family and without his brother The family returned him saying he had an issue with a uti 2 years ago and was urinating out of the box, but after they treated the issue was resolved. But now they have a baby in the home, Simba urinated once out of the box again and they said they couldn’t have him in the home anymore. When we asked if they took him back to the vet to see if he had a uti again and could just treat him again, they said no. Simba has been back with us for a little while now. We have been closely monitoring for any accidents but he has not had any issues, he is using his litter box great. We had him evaluated with our vets and he had urinary cystitis-a painful bladder condition usually brought on by stress. He has received medications and laser therapy and currently the cystitis is resolved. He joined our other cats in the free roaming cat room to see how he does in there and he continues to be a good boy and using his litter box with no issues. Simba is now ready to find a foster home or fur-ever home. He is about 8 years old. He is SO sweet. He loves pets and snuggles. He is also adventurous and loves to explore but appreciates a nice comfy spot with a blanket to overlook everything.   Simba is neutered and microchipped, current on age appropriate vaccines. He has a negative fecal test, negative FIV/FeLV test as well. We also did additional organ screening bloodwork with him since he is over 7 years of age and the bloodwork had no concerns. Let’s see if we can find Simba a place to call his own for the New Year! The $75.00 adoption fee (  payable by cash or check only  ) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; senior bloodwork, microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV testing.  Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application.
