Story
Meet Shadow, a beautiful 10-year-old girl with a heart full of loyalty and so much love to give. Shadow faithfully stayed by her owner’s side during recovery from a hip replacement—truly a devoted, constant companion. Sadly, due to ongoing health challenges, her owner could no longer care for her, and Shadow came into our rescue. Once we spent more time with her, we discovered that Shadow is far more than “independent” — she is incredibly affectionate. She loves being petted and starts purring almost instantly when you touch her. She has the most expressive tail that happily whips and swishes when she’s content, and she absolutely enjoys chatting with her people. She will happily carry on little conversations with you throughout the day. Shadow would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can bond closely with her person. She has previously lived with other cats and small dogs and may do well with gentle companions, given proper introductions. She has excellent litter box habits, is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had full bloodwork. She is a healthy senior with no medical concerns. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will purr the moment you reach for her, Shadow may be your perfect match. If you are interested in Shadow, please email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application available here: https://tysonsplacerescue.org/cat-and-dog-adoptions/#adopt (scroll down to the bottom for the application).

Story
Meet Taz! Taz is a spunky, affectionate 6-year-old guy who came to us when his owner could no longer care for him due to her own health issues. He’s a friendly, outgoing cat who truly enjoys people and would make a wonderful companion. Taz loves his wet food, enjoys playing with toys, and can often be found basking in a sunny spot after climbing to the very top of his cat tree—one of his favorite pastimes! He loves his people and will greet you at the door. He is super smart and knows how to play fetch - he will bring a toy right to you for you to throw again. He also likes to bring you gifts - toy mice and stuffed toy fish to show you that he loves you. His stuffed fish is his absolute favorite, as seen in the photo, and he will gift it to you on the bed overnight or by the back door, waiting for you to return from work. He has excellent litter box manners and an easygoing personality that makes him a great choice for a first-time cat owner. Taz is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and has had full bloodwork. He’s a healthy boy with no known medical issues and is ready to find his forever home. If you’re interested in adopting Taz, please email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com or complete an adoption application here: https://tysonsplacerescue.org/cat-and-dog-adoptions/#adopt (Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application.) Taz is ready to bring love, sunshine naps, and plenty of personality into his new home!

Story
Hi hi hi!! I’m Max! I was in an abandoned litter at really young age, maybe 5/6 weeks old. I’ve become a very playful and pretty needy boy. I wants to be involved in everything, and be with you at all times. I love greeting you when you get home(favorite time of day!) and smell your socks! I know, gross! but i love it. I grew up in apartment with my sister and loved being on the patio watching birds and squirrels. I’m not an outdoor cat, though i have been outside on a leash, many times (and patios!) I LOVE being outside. Over time, I started getting aggressive with my sister. chasing her and biting down on her neck a little. It was fun! But I did not do it for a long time. I moved into a new home with 2 more cats! I did not like this new place or the other cats. I must attack the other! Maximus had a very hard time adjusting to a new life style and we’ve tried many different things an ways, but he’s best kept away from other cats, which has lead to not living life to the fullest.

Story
Meet Lovebug! This sweet little girl lives up to her name. She loves to purr and is so sweet. She was found as a stray so we don’t know much about her past life. She came to us pretty sick, at first we were scared it was cancer. But with some medications and love, she improved! She seems to have some underlying chronic inflammatory condition of her lungs, possibly asthma. Could also be allergies, we are not sure. But with periodic steroid injections, she gets comfortable and has shown improvement.   Lovebug seems to have a sensitive stomach anytime she is given canned food, but she does great on her dry food. She does well with other cats and all humans-children too.    We believe she is older, possibly 10-11 years old. She is a petite little girl, about 7.2 pounds. She would love to find a home to rest in and be around people.  The $25.00 adoption fee (  payable by cash or check only  ) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; senior bloodwork, microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV testing.  Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Cats for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application.  Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption. Story
Our beautiful boy Simba is looking for his fur-ever home! Simba was returned to us. He was adopted from us about 7 years ago as a kitten. He was adopted with his brother (their names were Timone and Pumbaa). Sadly Simba was returned but his brother stayed in their home. He now has to navigate a new life without his family and without his brother The family returned him saying he had an issue with a uti 2 years ago and was urinating out of the box, but after they treated the issue was resolved. But now they have a baby in the home, Simba urinated once out of the box again and they said they couldn’t have him in the home anymore. When we asked if they took him back to the vet to see if he had a uti again and could just treat him again, they said no. Simba has been back with us for a little while now. We have been closely monitoring for any accidents but he has not had any issues, he is using his litter box great. We had him evaluated with our vets and he had urinary cystitis-a painful bladder condition usually brought on by stress. He has received medications and laser therapy and currently the cystitis is resolved. He joined our other cats in the free roaming cat room to see how he does in there and he continues to be a good boy and using his litter box with no issues. Simba is now ready to find a foster home or fur-ever home. He is about 8 years old. He is SO sweet. He loves pets and snuggles. He is also adventurous and loves to explore but appreciates a nice comfy spot with a blanket to overlook everything.   Simba is neutered and microchipped, current on age appropriate vaccines. He has a negative fecal test, negative FIV/FeLV test as well. We also did additional organ screening bloodwork with him since he is over 7 years of age and the bloodwork had no concerns. Let’s see if we can find Simba a place to call his own for the New Year! The $75.00 adoption fee (  payable by cash or check only  ) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; senior bloodwork, microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV testing. Story
Meet Connie, the container kitty! Connie's story is both heartbreaking and hopeful. She was found trapped inside a storage container in a parking lot, buried in a snow drift after plows came through. A father and son heard her tiny meows and rescued her just in time. We took Connie in on a Sunday night when no one else could. She is about 5 months old, petite, vocal and incredibly sweet. She lights up when she meets people! Connie is fully vetted, and through this, we found she is FeLV positive. This means she will need to be an only cat or with other FeLV+ cats. She is also now spayed and up to date on all vaccines. Connie is ready for a safe, loving home where she'll never be left behind again.
