Story
Little Guy is a very friendly stray that started visiting my yard last year. I believe he is around 3 years old. I am looking to re-home him because I found out that he is FIV positive after taking him to the vet for a broken leg. I wanted to adopt him but I have an 18 year old cat who can’t be exposed. Little Guy needs to be an inside only cat because his leg break was pretty severe. It is in the last stages of healing, currently. Little Guy needs a home with a little extra love where he is the only cat, or with other FIV positive cats. He can also be around dogs. He does alright with children but can get overstimulated. He loves to look out the window and watch birds and he is very food motivated. He is also playful and sweet. He is updated on all of his shots, de-wormed, no parasites, and he is neutered.

Story
Cheeto was born in September 2017 in Dayton, OH. My sisters college roommate brought him home but then realized they could not have a cat in the dorm. I was living by myself in an apartment so I took him in temporarily; but ending up keeping him until now. We moved to Grand Rapids in 2020, then moved in with my fiance; (and cat and dog) in 2023. We tried to make it work, but Cheeto has not been able to adjust to the new surroundings and animals, as he really wants to be an only child. Cheeto is so sweet and cuddly, loves getting pets and attention. He is silly and will play sometimes, but really enjoys sitting next to you (or on you) while you read, watch tv, or nap. He loves to greet you, and headbutt you (nicely) to ask for more pets. He may be shy at first, but really just wants undivided attention.

Her name is Poco Precioso, Poco for short. She was born in a barn litter, nursed as a baby because she was very young when taken from mom. She has a ton of personality, very talkative and has a nick name of “sassy.” She’s very well trained and clean. She loves attention, very cuddly and social. She will rub against your legs and follow you around, she’s a great best friend.

Story
Meet Lovebug! This sweet little girl lives up to her name. She loves to purr and is so sweet. She was found as a stray so we don’t know much about her past life. She came to us pretty sick, at first we were scared it was cancer. But with some medications and love, she improved! She seems to have some underlying chronic inflammatory condition of her lungs, possibly asthma. Could also be allergies, we are not sure. But with periodic steroid injections, she gets comfortable and has shown improvement.   Lovebug seems to have a sensitive stomach anytime she is given canned food, but she does great on her dry food. She does well with other cats and all humans-children too.    We believe she is older, possibly 10-11 years old. She is a petite little girl, about 7.2 pounds. She would love to find a home to rest in and be around people.  The $25.00 adoption fee (  payable by cash or check only  ) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; senior bloodwork, microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV testing.  Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Cats for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application.  Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption. Story
Meet Vader! Don't let the name fool you-this little guy has already joined the light side! At around 10 weeks old, Vader is a sweet, quiet boy and all it it takes is a few gentle pets to activate his purr motor-and trust us, the force is strong with this one! Vader is currently in a foster home with young children, proving that even this former "Dark Lord" has a heart of gold. He's gentle, affectionate, and would love a family to call his own. His foster mom says he loves to cuddle! If you've been searching the galaxy for your new best friend, your mission may be complete. May the force be with you...and hopefully, with Vader in his forever home! Vader is neutered, microchipped, current on age appropriate vaccines. He is FIV/FeLV/heartworm tested and negative for all. He has had a fecal parasite screen and did test positive for a few different parasites-some which can transfer to other pets and to humans if his feces are orally ingested. We recommend keeping his litter box clean and separate from other animals in the home, cleaning it frequently, and washing hands well after cleaning the litter box until it is known that his parasites are gone. He is currently on dewormer.  The $125.00 adoption fee ( payable by cash or check only ) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV testing. Story
Chewie, aka Chewbacca, is ready to find his fur-ever home! Chewie was found as a stray so we don't know about his past life. We are estimating he is about 3 years old. Chewie is SUCH a sweetheart. He loves cuddles, he loves attention and he is very friendly! When Chewie came to us he had a swollen paw most likely from some wound/injury he had gotten outside. But with some medications and love he is back to normal! Chewie is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, FIV/FeLV/Heartworm negative. We tested him for parasites and he did test positive for roundworms. He is currently undergoing treatment for the roundworms. Roundworms can transfer to other animals and to people (rarely) by ingesting the contaminated feces. We recommend letting Chewie have his own litter box and keeping it clean until he has a negative fecal test. The $100.00 adoption fee (  payable by cash or check only  ) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV testing.  Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application.
