Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting Simon and Baxter! This bonded pair of kitty brothers live in a Montevallo Alabama Foster home and will leave us when they are adopted. Transportation is included in every adoption fee. We pay a licensed USDA animal Transporter for every pet that we send to the northeast. We do not own the van service. Pets see a licensed veterinarian the same week of transport for a health exam and interstate health certificate. Fosters FaceTime with the approved Adopter so you can see your pet and learn about them in real time. We have been adopting dogs and cats to families for over 15 years. These kittens were born to what we thought was a feral Mom cat. She was TNR when they were young, then we rescued them and sent them to a foster home with lots of love and experience with kittens. In less than a week, the black kitten, Simon, was purring! It took a little longer for white tabby brother, Baxter, to warm up, but they've done remarkable and are so deserving of a true forever home. They are inside only and have not wanted to leave the comforts of home. They are happy and playful with each other. They love the human teenager in their foster home. He doesn't expect too much and allows them to live life on their terms and just be playful kittens. That's helped grow their bond so we know they can bond again with you. Baxter (white tabby) and Simon are 6 months old now and about 6 pounds each. Both kittens are neutered, Simon is combo test negative, Baxter is "light" FIV positive. Please do your research. We'd be glad to have the conversation with you. FIV cats should live inside, which he does. Both kittens have FVRCP, boosters, rabies, dewormed, microchip, and they receive parasite prevention. They come with medical records. Simon and Baxter eat canned cat food and dry kitten food every day. They have perfect litter box manners. These two kittens could bring a lot of joy to your home. $350 adoption fee includes transportation and a health certificate. Serious adopters should fill out the application online and we will be in touch with you. We prefer a vet reference current or previous to adopt a kitten. Please call your vet to release information on your pets. https://form.jotform.com/232763732515154

Gigi is unbelievably cuddly and happiest when she's curled up in someone's arms or lap. She is fully vetted, gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and children, and is ready to become a cherished member of a loving family. Story
Who Doesn’t Love a Big Orange Kitty? 🧡🐾 Please put your paws together for the amazing, the adorable… Garfield! This handsome boy is now 7 years young and has plenty of love to give. Garfield’s story began as a semi-feral neighborhood wanderer, living outside for years until his foster mom trapped him and brought him to Scruffy Paws for safety. At first, he was understandably nervous—but with patience and kindness, he learned that pets and attention are far better than eating garbage and sleeping in the dirt. Trust has been a slow, steady process for Garfield, so his new family must be patient and understanding. He feels uneasy when someone towers over him and prefers being held while you’re sitting, not standing. During the adjustment period, it’s best to keep him in a smaller room without too many hiding spots so he can acclimate more easily. Garfield currently lives with his foster mom and her friendly female cats, who have helped him build his “catfidence.” Having another kind, welcoming cat in his future home would be a big plus. How to win Garfield over? One word: food. He’s a total foodie—vocal when mealtime comes, purring up a storm, and happy to accept pets while eating. To keep him healthy (he’s just over 10 lbs), we recommend measured portions—because while chunky orange cats are adorable, a fit Garfield is a happy Garfield. Garfield enjoys playtime with his foster cat sisters, relaxing on a comfy chair, and bird- or bug-watching from a sunny window. Once you’ve earned his trust, he may even let you hold him like a baby—while you’re sitting down, of course. He’ll do best in a quiet home without young children, and might be OK with a calm, respectful dog. Garfield is also FIV+, but don’t let that scare you—FIV is manageable, and cats with it can live long, happy lives with proper care. Garfield is still a work in progress, but for the right person, he’ll be a loyal, loving companion who’s worth every bit of patience. Could he be your next best friend? 🧡 https://resources.bestfriends.org/article/fiv-cats-faqs-feline-immunodeficiency-virus Please be sure to read a cat's full bio before applying! We do our best to keep bios updated as we learn more about each cat or as circumstances change. Story
Meet Edina – Sweet, Sassy, and Obsessed with Birdwatching (Upside Down, Naturally) Edina didn’t show up looking for love—but it found her anyway. When this 1 year old dilute calico landed in foster care, she was all hisses and side-eyes. Fast forward a few days? She’s a full-on cuddle bug, following her foster mom like a fluffy little shadow. She’s playful, affectionate, and cat-obsessed—young or old, she wants a feline friend by her side. She’d be thrilled to go home with one of her siblings or foster buddies (Oliver, Azalea, or Fiddle), but any friendly cat will do. A tiny bit shy in new places, Edina warms up fast—and once she does, expect nonstop purrs, head boops, and acrobatic naps in her favorite cat tree. Bonus quirk? She lives for birdwatching… upside down. It’s her sport of choice. Ready for a cat who’s equal parts silly, snuggly, and social? Edina’s your girl. Story
Meet Ren – The Water-Loving, Happy Drooler! 💦 What’s orange, has a tiny motor, drools when happy, and loves playing with water? That’s our girl, Ren! This almost 4-year-old beauty came to Scruffy Paws as a feral rescue, and while she’s made amazing progress, she’s still searching for that special human who will shower her with patience, love, and plenty of cheek scratches. Ren has been waiting for her forever home for 887+ days—she’s more than ready for a family to call her own! Since arriving at Scruffy, she has truly embraced the company of her feline friends—she’s a cat’s cat through and through. While she prefers kitty companionship over human attention, she’s learning that people aren’t so bad (especially when they come with treats and chin rubs!). A confident, people-friendly cat in the home is a must to help Ren feel safe and continue blossoming. 💛 What Makes Ren One of a Kind? 🐾 A happy drooler—when she purrs, expect some adorable love dribbles! 🐾 Obsessed with water! Whether it's watching it, playing in it, or just being near it—she’s fascinated! 🐾 Loves cozy hidey-holes, scratching posts, and perching up high to survey her kingdom. 🐾 Enjoys cheek and chin scratches but can get overstimulated, so a quiet, adults-only home is best. 🐾 Can be a little hissy at first with new cats, but she warms up with time and loves to cuddle her kitty friends. 🐾 Can be held… but only on her terms (a true independent queen!). 🐾 Has the most adorable head tilt when you talk to her—like she’s really listening to every word! 🤣 After 887 days at the shelter, Ren deserves a loving home where she can feel safe, loved, and finally settle in. If you’ve got a quiet home and a heart big enough for this quirky, lovable girl, Ren just might be the perfect match for you! 💛 Please be sure to read a cat's full bio before applying!
