Story
Animal Profile: Tiny is a 1-year-old male Chihuahua mix. His owner tragically passed and her family was unable to care for additional dogs. Tiny was born blind and he is used to living with 3 other small dogs and a large male pitty.  More info as we get to know him. Foster Update: Tiny has been a good little house guest. He likes to snuggle and is good in his crate. His potty training has come along well (he was used to using pee pads), and he walks great on leash. Tiny would do best in a home with at least one other canine companion. He likes to follow around his seeing friends using his nose. When he gets turned around, he will start walking in a circle to find the right scent where he wants to go. Due to his blindness, Tiny would be best suited for a home without stairs. He’s quiet in his crate and overall a really easygoing guy.  Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550, which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.  May 30, 2023, 1:14 am

Story
Animal Profile: Koby is a 3-year-old, 16 lb male Chihuahua who joined us from California on 2/14/2021. He was found as a stray in southern CA and rescued from Moreno Valley Shelter. He was adopted to a home that was not a good fit for him, due to this boy's huge personality packed into a small body. Koby thinks he's a big dog and will need structure and leadership typically required of larger breed 'experience needed' type of dogs, but once you have his respect, he's incredibly fun, confident, and eager to please. He loves to play with dogs of all sizes and is now fully obedience trained.  Seattle Foster Update: Meet Koby! He is an energetic boy and affectionate pup. True to his breed, he is trusting and very bonded to his people once he has a little time to warm up but does require a slow introduction with new people. He is looking for an experienced home that can advocate for him and is willing to take the time to earn his trust. Koby does well with other dogs and loves to play, and would do best in a home with a balanced companion. He loves to run around, play with toys and follow the pack. Koby has great house manners and is good at entertaining himself throughout the day.  He has big dog energy and would love a walking or hiking companion. He can easily go 6 miles in a day. He is house trained and does well in his crate. Koby has been thriving in his foster home and excelling in his training. He knows many commands and will need to be held accountable in a new home. He can coexist with cats. Adopter Profile: Dog experience needed Other dog(s) in home preferred (not required) Dog savvy cats considered No kids Willing to provide structure and continue with training Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter in California  on 2/14/21 and adopted shortly thereafter; he was returned to the rescue after over a year and has since been fostered with Dog B Good (trainers) in Federal Way. He is now available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.May 30, 2023, 1:14 am

Story
NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS    Animal Profile: Jack was found wandering as a stray in Bakersfield. We pulled him and his 3 brothers when they were slated for euthanasia. He’s dog friendly and sweet with people. We estimate he is around 1 year old and roughly 10-12lbs. Foster Update: If you're looking for your new best friend, look no further! Jack has come a long way since his short time in foster care, and it's been awesome to see this little guy come out of his shell and thrive. Jack arrived with little to no experience on leash, but he now absolutely loves his walks around the neighborhood, and he has great leash manners! He does well in his crate and is potty trained (with a consistent routine). He is being fostered with another small breed dog and they are getting along well. Jack did need a little direction/correction at first to learn his manners with a new dog (imagine an awkward puppy who didn't quite pick up on social skills) but he is doing much better now picking up on the cues from the other other pup. Jack has met other dogs well on leash, and he can be a little shy around new humans, but warms up quickly if you know to go slow with him. Jack also does great with the respectful toddler in his foster home. What's been great to see is just how much Jack has grown in a short period of time. He is a quick learner and incredibly smart! His foster family has done an incredible job of keeping a consistent routine for Jack, as well as setting ground rules in the home for him to follow. Jack thrives in a structured environment, so his new home will need to be committed to providing that for him. We are looking for a forever home for Jack that is committed to his ongoing basic training and helping this guy continue to grow his confidence. We know there is a big adventure buddy in him, and he is excited to join his new family on life adventures.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Bakersfield California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 2/19/23. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.May 30, 2023, 1:14 am
