Meet Memo He is a sweet, quiet, and gentle dog who spends much of his time sleeping and resting. He is an 8-10 year old toy poodle. He gets along well with other dogs and does not cause problems with them. However, he has some behaviors that may be related to his seizures or possible neurological issues. He does not currently tolerate being touched or petted. When someone attempts to caress or handle him, he may growl, turn around, or attempt to nip. He does not have many teeth, but he will still react as though he is trying to bite. Because of this, we avoid forcing physical contact and give him the space he needs. Likes: • Being around other dogs • Quiet and calm surroundings • Sleeping and resting • Wet food • Having his space respected Dislikes: • Being touched or petted • Being handled or restrained • Someone reaching toward him or attempting to caress him Additional Information: Approximately two weeks after he was found, he began experiencing seizures. He has since been evaluated by a veterinarian and is receiving medication, which we administer in his wet food because he does not allow us to handle him. Although he has difficulty tolerating physical touch, he is otherwise a very quiet and sweet dog. He gets along well with other dogs and appears to be most comfortable when he is allowed to rest and have his personal space. His behavior around handling may be influenced by his medical or neurological issues, so he would likely do best with someone who is patient, understanding, and willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel safe.

*Meet Memo! 🐾* Memo is an 8-10 year old Toy Poodle (found 7/5/26, not neutered / no chip, no owner came forward) and he is the sweetest, quietest little soul. He spends most of his day sleeping and resting, gets along great with other dogs, and just wants a calm corner to call his own. About two weeks after he was found he started having seizures — he's been seen by a vet and is now on medication. Because of that, he doesn't tolerate being touched or petted right now and will growl or air-snap (he has very few teeth) to ask for space, so it's best to let him set the boundaries. He still does great on walks with a leash. Memo isn't looking for a cuddler, he's looking for a patient, understanding person who will give him time, quiet, and safety on his own terms. No one could tell where this dog would have ended up. Thanks to the rescuers in S. Korea, this pup is longer in danger of getting trapped in dog meat trade! DoVE Project has rescue partners in S. Korea who have their own private shelter and/or foster network. Our dogs stay with either a foster family or a private shelter until they are matched with an adopter in the US. Upon arrival in the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. • Current Location: foster home in South Korea • Rescue Story: Meet Louis👋🏻 He was found wandering the streets of South Korea in May 2026. He ended up at a high-kill shelter but was thankfully rescued just in time. Due to a lack of proper care earlier in his life, Louis needed patella surgery on both of his hind legs. The good news is that he has made a full recovery and is now thriving in a loving foster home while patiently waiting for his forever family. • Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Gentle • Affinity with - Dogs: Great with other dogs of different sizes - Cats: Fine with them. Not much interested in cats! - Adults/Kids: Friendly with all people! • Walking Manners: Walks beautifully on a leash without pulling. Doesn't bark back at other barking dogs. • Housetrained: Fully housebroken! He goes potty outdoors and uses pee pads indoors. • Bathing/Brushing: Good with baths and grooming. • Car Sickness: Comfortable with car rides. • Separation Anxiety: None, since she's always with other dogs at home. • Barks/Howls: Quiet • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats well. No food allergies found so far. • Shedding level (1~10): 1-2 • Likes/Dislikes: Loves squeaky toys and tug-of-war! • Health: Louis had grade-2,3 patellar luxation in both hind legs when rescued, so he went through surgery in Jun 2026. The good news is that he has made a full recovery and is now thriving in a loving foster home while patiently waiting for his forever family. Plushy is a 7-year-old Poodle/Maltese mix who may need a little time to show you just how special he is. Once he warms up and learns that he can trust you, Plushy becomes a true velcro dog who loves being near his person.His foster mom says Plushy is housebroken and enjoys the simple things in life—lounging comfortably in his bed, relaxing around the house, and enjoying some quiet time with his favorite people. He likes going for short walks, but for longer outings, Plushy would much rather ride in a stroller and take in the world from the comfort of his own little seat. He also loves squeaky toys and, of course, treats!Plushy has had some health issues that were addressed by our shelter veterinarian. He does have a recurring yeast infection in one of his ears, which clears with medication, and he will need to continue Optimmune eye drops for life. His medications will need to be given regularly, which can be challenging because Plushy is sensitive about being touched on his belly, back end, and ears, so he needs a special person who is in tune to his moods. Because Plushy can become mouthy when he is nervous or anxious, he is looking for an experienced adopter and an adult-only home with no small children. He needs someone who understands that trust takes time and who will respect his boundaries while helping him feel safe and secure.Plushy isn’t looking for someone who expects him to be perfect right away. He’s looking for someone who will give him patience, understanding, and the time he needs to feel comfortable. One-year-old Marcy is so easy to love! She is gentle, playful and affectionate. She spent much of her life tied up outside with limited space, so Marcy needs a yard and a playmate. She loves to tumble and play chase with equally playful dogs her size (12 1/2 pounds) and larger! Marcy rarely barks. Even when dogs have barked and lunged toward her, Marcy doesn’t make a peep!
