Story
Please contact foster parent at federicia13@gmail.comFive-year-old Kash (DOB 5/25/2018) is a happy go-lucky treeing walker coonhound mix. Kash is crate-trained, potty-trained and dog and cat friendly! Kash enjoys playing with squeaky toys, walking on greenways and chilling on the couch. Kash currently lives with two female dogs (lower energy) and has spent lots of time with one male cat. Kash was adopted from animal control as a puppy; however, on December 20, 2023, Kash found himself back at ACC through no fault of his own. Unfortunately, Kash returned to ACC heartworm positive and severely overweight. In January, Kash went into a foster home and prepared for heartworm treatment (2/28/24-2/29/24) which required a six-week crate rest. Now, Kash has completed his crate rest and is ready for his forever home! Kash is on a healthy diet and has managed to lose some weight. Kash will require a home dedicated to keeping him healthy. Kash would do well in a variety of settings, including an apartment. Kash likes his space at times and is not comfortable with people invading his space when he wants to rest so he would do better in a house without younger children. In terms of his health, he should be re-tested for heartworms in August of 2024 and he has a high likelihood of being heartworm negative. Kash does show signs of degenerative joint disease in both hips so while he loves walks, he is not well-suited for higher-intensity activity. I love having Kash as a foster, and I am excited for him to find his forever home!

Story
This handsome boy is Bibby. Bibby came to us from animal control and has been at our recue for far too long. Bibby has the best personality and will always keep you entertained. Bibby hasn't experienced any stability in his life and can be wary of new people so he just needs a little extra time to get to know you. Once he does he will be the best velcro dog! Bibby is very high energy and would love a family who is just as active. Due to his high energy Bibby would do best in a home with no young children and no other pets.He is neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and heartworm tested. If this energetic boy melts your heart, call 803-802-0902 to schedule an appointment to meet this sweet boy! Bibby cannot wait to meet you!• Remember, all family that lives in the household must come to the appointment..If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
Meet TylerI’m Tyler, a beautiful Treeing Walker Coonhound and Boxer mix with a gorgeous smile!I’m about 4 years old, and I came to the Humane Society as a stray. I’m a heartworm warrior who successfully defeated this terrible disease.I’m a good-size boy, around 80 pounds. I love being outdoors on adventures – I’m an enthusiastic trail walker, employing my hound skills to sniff and sniff and sniff all the new smells. I do great on a leash and I’m a well-mannered car rider! I’m also a bit of a gentle giant and would love to curl up on your lap for snuggles.I’m a strong pup and I need a dog-savvy adopter who can help me manage my energy and size. At the rescue I’ve done well with other dogs who match my size and play style.I’m very smart and I learn quickly. A family that wants to continue my training with me would be awesome! I’ve been at the rescue nearly 2 years now and am ready to find my people.I’m up to date on vaccines and preventions, neutered and microchipped.—----------------------* If Tyler wins your heart, call the Humane Society of York County today at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. * Adoption consultations are by appointment only. Story
Katharina is a is 5-year-old Coonhound mix of something who currently weighs around 75 pounds. Katharina is fully vetted, crate trained and ready for her furever home. Katharina is not a typical Coonhound, as she prefers to be a stay-at-home dog, laying in or on your lap the whole day and then next to or on your bed with you! Katharina doesn’t enjoy leaving home, but she loves other dogs, in the home. She will make a great companion dog and due to this would prefer a home with a fenced in yard so she can be let out to do her business and roam a bit and come right back in! In her foster home Katharina has met many different types of dogs of all sizes and ages and she welcomes them in with no issues and shows them the rope! As for children, Katharina has done well with them, but we are noticing she would prefer older kids. If you are interested in adopting Katharina, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet’s age.    **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ** July 26, 2024, 10:50 am
