Scout is a neutered male hound/weimaraner mix (see his DNA results), weighing about 40-45 lbs! He is a sweet, special boy who has had a rough past and really needs an angel to step up and save his life. His estimated age is 5-6 years old, however he has graying on his muzzle which makes him look older than he is. He also has scars on his ears and face.   This boy has definitely experienced trauma and he is slow to trust people, but deep down he just wants to love and be loved.  He is misunderstood and has had people let him down too many times. Scout can do a 1 week foster to adopt trial with an approved adopter so you can see how he settles in before committing to adoption. Scout bonds closely to one person and once he trusts you, you will feel the love and adoration every time he looks into your eyes!  He is a lazy couch potato who loves to nap on the couch next to you and will follow you around the house like your shadow.  Once you’ve really earned his love, he will steal your slippers or other little trinkets that smell like you and take them onto the couch to keep close to him.  He won’t chew them, he just wants to keep a piece of you with him always.   Scout has been adopted and returned once due to fearful aggressive behavior towards men and children. He has been in his current foster home for over a year now and has not had any adopt interest. He is a good boy, but he requires a very specific type of home to do well, and we have not had any luck finding the right home for him   His current foster mom loves him and has worked hard to help him be the best boy he can be, but there is a man in the home and Scout just cannot comfortably coexist with a man. He (the man) understands that Scout’s aggression towards him comes from a place of fear and he has tried hard to earn Scout’s trust, but we feel that Scout would do best in a home with NO men.  Scout’s ideal home: A female only home, no men, children, or cats.  Scout does very well with other dogs and likes to be near them, he also has bursts of playful enjoy and will happily romp around for a play session! A friendly, confident doggo friend would help him to feel safe and to trust, although he would also do just fine as an only dog.  A quiet, calm home environment is best for Scout. He is lower energy and is happy to nap on the couch all day, but he does also love walks (he is strong and tends to pull, so he needs someone strong enough to handle him).   He needs a home that will commit to crating him in a separate room when they have visitors over, as he is not good with new people and when Scout is fearful, he relies on aggression to keep him safe and to keep the “scary” thing away.  Scout needs someone to love him for who he is, warts and all, who will set him up for success and advocate for him. Mister Simba is our resident handsome hunk! He is big, muscular and has the most beautiful eyes. He still has lots of puppy in him and is strong. He will need a strong family that is willing to put the time and energy into bringing out his full potential! He is crate trained, has learned sit and is working on leash manners. Would prefer a home with kids 16 yrs old and up as he is so doofy and doesnt realize his size! Simba is weird with woman and would do best in an active male household that would love to do training with him. He's stubborn but equally loving. He's been thru hell and he just doesn't know up from down. We love this dog and have a long history with him that is NOT his fault. We want to place him into a home that will do right by him and love him forever. He deserves that. A woman nearly starved and killed him. But his foster mom saved him. Dana Darling is one of those easy-to-enjoy puppies who is ready to fit right into family life. She is sweet with people, wonderful with children, friendly with other dogs and always ready for a walk, a tennis ball or a little recliner time with her foster. Whatever her mix may be, she is a beautiful girl with a soft expression and a very good-natured personality. She is fostered in a loving home with children ages one and four, and she has been wonderful with both of them. Dana is gentle, gives sweet little kisses and remains patient when tiny hands are petting her or occasionally grab an ear by mistake. She truly seems comfortable being part of a family and enjoys staying close to her people. Her foster says she even likes to curl up beside him during recliner time, fully convinced she is lap-dog sized. Dana goes on regular walks and already has great basic leash skills. She rides well in the car, knows how to sit and loves treats, which she takes very gently from your hand. She is also getting the hang of fetch and has decided that tennis balls are clearly superior to every other toy available. Dana is friendly with other dogs and has a playful side of her own. Her best match would be a dog who enjoys playing without being overly pushy or overwhelming. She goes slow when meeting a new dog but once she is comfortable, she is happy to join in and have fun. She also did wonderfully meeting our house cat. Dana was respectfully cautious, responded easily to guidance and showed no desire to chase or overwhelm him. We believe she could do well living with a dog-savvy cat with appropriate introductions and continued supervision as she grows. Dana Darling is still a puppy, but she already has so many of the qualities families hope to find- she is loving, gentle with children, social with dogs, respectful with cats and eager to learn. Hola!! Mi amo Winona, como esta??? I am doing pretty well! Except I am still looking for my furever family.... :( I was found as a very very young puppy, with my siblings on the side of the road. No one knows where my mama is... unfortunately in the south LOTS of "people" would rather kill the product of unaltered female and male dogs than actually just get them spayed and neutered......... and very likely that is why we were left so carelessly on the side of a road at 2 weeks old.... just to die...
