She has gained confidence as she happily is going up to strangers to say hello and get affection. She loves loves belly rubs ! Yes she is still not super comfortable with nosiy vehicles passing her on walks but she is a very sweet dog! She does love to sleep on the couch if you allow her too, whether you are cuddling with her or not.! lol She is very quiet in general, although sometimes when you leave and crate her she makes some noise. Otherwise she is very quiet, and never makes noise in her crate when she is sleeping there at night. She is still a puppy at maybe a year old, so she can't be totally trusted yet loose exploring on her own if you are leaving the house so we do crate her. . Yes she is too small for a Wiemaraner but when we tested her photo online it came up with this! • The Coat and Eyes: Her unique taupe/silver-brown coat color combined with those striking light, amber-toned eyes are signature traits strongly inherited from the Weimaraner. • The Ears and Build: Her soft, folded drop ears and slender, athletic frame point toward a sporting or hound mix. Rescue organizations have noted that her build and coloring also heavily resemble a Blue Lacy (the official state dog breed of Texas, where she was found). • The White Markings: The white patch on her chest and her white-tipped toes indicate a multi-breed background, likely mixed with a retriever or terrier breed. Dana Darling is one of those easy-to-enjoy puppies who is ready to fit right into family life. She is sweet with people, wonderful with children, friendly with other dogs and always ready for a walk, a tennis ball or a little recliner time with her foster. Despite being a growing puppy, Dana already has a gentle, thoughtful nature that makes her a joy to have around. Whatever her mix may be, she is a beautiful girl with a soft expression and a very good-natured personality. She is fostered in a loving home with children ages one and four, and she has been wonderful with both of them. Dana is gentle, gives sweet little kisses and remains patient when tiny hands are petting her or occasionally grab an ear by mistake. She truly seems comfortable being part of a family and enjoys staying close to her people. Her foster says she even likes to curl up beside him during recliner time, fully convinced she is lap-dog sized. Dana goes on regular walks and already has great basic leash skills. She rides well in the car, knows how to sit and loves treats, which she takes very gently from your hand. She is also getting the hang of fetch and has decided that tennis balls are clearly superior to every other toy available. Dana is friendly with other dogs and has a playful side of her own. Her best match would be a dog who enjoys playing without being overly pushy or overwhelming. She goes slow when meeting a new dog but once she is comfortable, she is happy to join in and have fun. She also did wonderfully meeting our house cat. Dana was respectfully cautious, responded easily to guidance and showed no desire to chase or overwhelm him. We believe she could do well living with a dog-savvy cat with appropriate introductions and continued supervision as she grows. Dana Darling is still a puppy, but she already has so many of the qualities families hope to find- she is loving, gentle with children, social with dogs, respectful with cats and eager to learn. Valor was found on the street as a puppy with a wound on his head and starving, eating pebbles. I think because of this start in life he has some food aggression, so best not with another dog. I have a german shepherd now and they get along most of the time but every once in a while, a switch flips in Valor and he gets very aggressive. Sometimes in this state, he will jump on me as well and he is very strong. He does not bite, but he will paw and scratch me. BUT he is "mouthy" and his teeth hurt. Best not around cats because the skittish ones that run, trigger him and he wants to pin them down. He doesn't bite them but I think one day he will. He understands some commands but very strong-willed. I think he is a hunting dog: so interested in birds, especially. He needs space to run, and I live in an RV. I love Valor but he needs someone physically strong. He pulls badly on the leash. Crate-trained. With an experienced strong-dog owner, Valor would make an excellent companion.
