Story
I have had so many chances in my young life. Seriously...I was found with four siblings at about 2.5 weeks old, dumped in a box at the post office... we were so, so sick and close to death. My rescue mom really worked hard to get us healthy and LIVE. And we did! About 6 weeks later, we all got parvo..... and my rescuer was able to nurse all of us out of it! All my siblings have been adopted, and I am ready too! I am somewhat shy and will take time to settle into my new family. But I will adjust. I am best with another dog, calm and confident, because I will mirror that energy. As a gorgeous catahoula/whippet mix, I have plenty of energy and I love to play! Fetch and chase games are my favorite . I am adoptable in Texas, I need to meet my family and you need to meet me! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Animal Information: Handsome Jack (nka Jackson) is an estimated 12-18-month old 35 lb now neutered male Whippet mix with epic ears and a fantastic temperament. He was found as a stray (with Handsome Jack) on a large ranch property and processed thru COH Animal Control. He was given just 72 hrs because the shelter was beyond capacity so PAWHI stepped in and found him (and Charlie) foster placement. In foster care Charlie has learned house-training, crate-training, and leash-training, is comfortable with handling, takes treats gently and shows no behavior issues like resource guarding. He is social and friendly with dogs and people including young children, though he is initially timid with men. He has not been evaluated with cats. This soft and sweet boy is joining Dog Gone Seattle and we look forward to getting to know him in foster care. Foster Profile: Jackson needed a few days to adjust to life on the mainland but he settled into his foster home in stride, seamlessly blending into the pack including several other dogs and kids. He's even respectful of the cat! He's picked up house training and crate training like an old pro and is gaining confidence every day. Jackson is very dog oriented and loves to romp with his dog friends. He will need at least one canine companion in his adoptive home, and he might do better in a pack. He is a soft and sweet natured boy who will bond with people once rapport and trust is established. We anticipate he'll love to chase things once he gets comfortable! He hasn't shown any unwanted behaviors, just an all around good Hawaii dog who crossed the pond to find a forever.  Adopter Profile: Fenced yard required Companion animal required Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from PAWHI in Hawaii, where he was a stray intake to COH Animal Control. He arrived to foster care 6/10/2026 and is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.July 25, 2026, 7:34 am

Story
Animal Information: Charlie Girl is an estimated 12-18-month old 40 lb now spayed female mixed breed (possibly Whippet/Malinois) with epic ears and a fantastic temperament. She was found as a stray (with Handsome Jack) on a large ranch property and processed thru COH Animal Control. She was given just 72 hrs because the shelter was beyond capacity so PAWHI stepped in and found her (and Jack) foster placement. In foster care Charlie has learned house-training, crate-training, and leash-training, is comfortable with handling, takes treats gently and shows no behavior issues like resource guarding. She is social and friendly with dogs and people including young children. She has not been evaluated with cats. This sweet and easy going girl is joining Dog Gone Seattle and we look forward to getting to know her in foster care. Foster Profile:  Meet Charlie!  Charlie is a 1½-year-old Whippet/Shepherd mix with the sweetest personality. She is affectionate, friendly, and eager to please. She settled into foster care immediately, warming up to everyone she met with a gentle, submissive nature and no signs of aggression. She loves playing with other dogs (of all sizes) but would also do well as the only dog in a home with plenty of love and the occasional playdate. She is crate trained, potty trained, rides well in the car, and is wonderfully quiet. Highly food-motivated and eager to learn, Charlie already knows sit, down, and touch. At just a year and a half old, she's fast, fit, and agile, making her an ideal companion for an active family. She'll thrive with adopters who will keep both her body and mind engaged through exercise, enrichment, and continued training—she truly enjoys learning and catches on quickly. Charlie does have a prey drive and has not been tested with cats, so a cat-free home is recommended. She has not lived in a home with children but likely do well in a home with dog savvy older children. If you're looking for a smart, loving companion who's ready for adventures and will happily soak up all the pets and affection you can give, Charlie may be the perfect match. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from the COH Animal Control in partnership with PWAHI, where she was found as a stray. Story
Animal Information: Trixie is a 9.5 year old sighthound/terrier mix with a gentle, sensitive nature. Her world recently changed when her owner of nearly 8 years could no longer care for her due to a medical crisis, but through it all she has remained a sweet and loving dog.  On walks she is calm and non reactive, and she really enjoys being outside. Although she had been spending much of her time in a crate, she has done so well in her foster home and has settled right back into a normal routine. Trixie is friendly with everyone she meets. She can be a little unsure in new places at first, but she warms up quickly and will start leaning in for affection before long. She is house trained, crate trained, and rides nicely in the car. Trixie would fit into many different homes and is ready to find a place where she can feel safe and loved again. Foster Profile: Trixie is a sweet girl, looking for someone who would love to give an older girl a great several years of life! She still likes to play and enjoys walks and loves her people. Trixie would prefer to be an only dog in the home, but has been fine with other dogs in public. Trixie is currently being fostered with other dogs in the home and is doing fine, but she is not a fan of small dogs in her space. Trixie does great in a car and in a crate and is house trained. She's a goofy gal with Lots of life left in her! She's great on a leash and will steal your heart. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. I started life in South Korea on a dog meat farm, and though I still carry a few little scars from that time, my heart has healed so much. With the help of some kind trainers, I’ve learned what love feels like—and now I’m ready to share it with my very own person. At first, I can be a little shy and cautious (old habits!), but once I trust you, my sweetness shines all the way through. I become playful, happy, and full of zoomies—I’ll even make you laugh with my goofy side. I love to run, I love to learn, and nothing makes me happier than knowing I’ve made you smile.I think I’d be happiest as your one-and-only furry friend, since other dogs aren’t quite my cup of tea. But honestly? With a heart as big as mine, I’ll fill your world with more than enough love. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful for me, along with a patient person who’ll keep helping me grow braver and more confident every day.I may have had a tough beginning, but I haven’t let it dim my spirit. Now I just need someone to see the sweet, devoted, silly girl I am and say, “That’s my dog.” My name’s Darcy—and I can’t wait to make you smile too. Darcy was a past Dog of the Month!!  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/darcy-december-dog-of-the-month-3/Sponsored by Angela Kasse Sponsored by Jieun Cho Darcy would love another sponsor while she waits for her forever home.  If this sounds like something you'd like to do, see this link for more info.  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/ Greyhound Pets, Inc. - www.greyhoundpetsinc.org - 877-468-7681 WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT A GREYHOUND? Story
Winnie is a senior pup looking for snuggles and being spoiled. Fenced yard is a must! She is an incredibly sweet dog, does not have a mean bone in her body. I found her as a street dog in Nicaragua when she was about 2, and brought her back with me. She technically has epilepsy, but has not had a seizure in about 7 years. She does however like to “roam the streets”. I recently had a baby, and we do not have a fenced yard. She has become too much for our family as I am chasing her down the street. Her roaming has gotten worse, but with a fenced yard she would be a perfect dog! She is very chill, loves her own space but also loves pets and treats. She is leash trained, potty trained, we did stop her habit of being on the couch. But she does love a nice couch! She connects with almost everyone, and she would be a delight to you and/or your family!
