APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. Gigi is possibly an Italian Greyhound mix. She is tall and naturally skinny. She is very agile but yes only 20 pounds! We estimate her DOB 2/21/24. She is shy but has made giant strides to become friendly and especially playful. She loves to play with other dogs and stuffed toys. She will require a solid privacy fence at least a 5 ½ ft + fence) because of her agility. She does go over our 4ft fence…not to run away… just because it looks fun on the other side. She comes right back over the fence to come in the house. She really should be trained for Agility competition. Gigi could be with children if they’re older… 10+… and understand how to deal with a shy dog. I have total faith she will become more outgoing in a short time. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. She can jump a 4.5/5 foot fence so must have a 6 foot privacy fence. We say 5.5 ft fence but all privacy fencing we have seen is either 4 foot or 6 foot. Yes if you are with her in the yard she likely will NOT attempt to leave but....... We do not have a foster with a 6 foot secure wood fence so we do not have a way to bring her to foster in WA so she must be pre adopted, she adores all dogs!. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
Lucy is a very loving, affectionate, and attentive companion, without being needy. She lives for her “adventures” (walks, runs, hikes) and is always searching out bunny rabbits as well as any other scent left by all critters. At home she will lounge for a while, ask if it’s time for a walk and rest again if denied, then she’ll make her rounds in the yard and rest again until walk time; she wants to please her human. She is not food motivated, and so doesn’t beg, but is curious with all smells Lucy lived with a cat for a few months and, though she would chase and play, she never made an attempt to hurt the cat. Lucy loves to run and play. Lucy is very good on a leash and will listen to commands as well as being aware of the pace of her tethered human, she has on occasion darted after a squirrel so her human needs to be strong enough to hold her when she forgets her manners. Lucy had a tough life for the first 4 years so she will get defensive if a dog snaps at her. Her first priority at a dog park is to run and play with other dogs, but she will defend herself if a dog is aggressive towards her. She de-escalates when pulled out of a scuffle, and she’s tried to make friends again when it’s over. Lucy needs someone who will be attentive to her as well and can intervene if necessary, or just not take her to an off leash dog park. Lucy loves other dogs but is most at ease as an only dog in her forever home. If you think Lucy would be the perfect fit for your family please complete our adoption application. houstonk911rescue.org/adopt Lucy is located in Houston, Texas.

Story
Gigi is athletic and a lap dog, a total love-sponge who enjoys getting rubs. She is warm, snuggly, playful, cheerful, and wants to be with you, on your lap or under the covers. She also loves to run and hike, chasing the frisbee, exploring the neighborhood, or summitting mountains. She likes to play tug and interact. She is smart, with a good vocabulary, and trains easily because she is very food-motivated. (She rings bells when she needs to go out, e.g.) Gigi is also full of personality; she has her own ideas and communicates those. She is shy at first, a rescue who often greets new people with skepticism; anxious around unfamiliar things, and aggressive dogs or tots scare her. She is very alert and curious... no one will sneak up on the house. (Part Chihuahua = barker.) She is 8 now and in perfect health. I am extremely sad to part with her, but cannot meet all of her needs by myself. Ideally, you are in or near Olympia and I can help out if you need to board her.

Story
HI - MY NAME IS BRIE! I'm a 10-month-old Basenji mix in need of a foster or forever home. I weigh only 30 pounds! I was rescued from a crowded California shelter along with my brother Franco (he also needs a home), and it was a pretty traumatic experience for us. But I'm now coming out of my shell, and am ready for a foster or forever home. Like many dogs I'll need some time to transition to a new life, but once I do, I'll be your best friend forever. I am a true medium-sized girl and would do great in a quiet home with a single person, a couple or a family with older kids. Please email for an application.
