Cyrano is a very special pup who is a real sweet boy. He is absolutely velcro and loves his humans. Cyrano has now learned how to play with toys and to sit for treats by following his foster sister. Although he loves his playtime with his doggie friends, his favorite pastime is to be a couch potato, laying next to his foster parent. He was rescued from a very high kill shelter of Houston, where he was a staff favorite, that kept him alive. Unfortunately, his then foster mom who was supposed to foster to adopt him, decided to move in back with her ex, who did not like dogs. As a result, he was returned to our foster program, after he was attached to her very much. He cried all the way to the boarding when she had him removed and then he accepted his fate. A month later, he came to his foster home and his foster parents once again, made him trust humans, Three months later, Cyrano was moved to Portland where he found another foster. He is now looking for his forever home, so that he does not need to move again. Cyrano is very loving and extremely loyal, affectionate and adorable. He gets attached very quickly and is always velcro with his humans. Cyrano is also very smart and sensitive. He is extremely well-behaved, quiet, calm, and obedient. He likes to please and hardly ever barks. A home with a fully fenced yard is mandatory, as well as parents with a large heart as he will be their baby. Cyrano is definitely one of the best pups in our program who is very loved. Cyrano is 3 years old, 75 lb, fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative, and kept on proheart 12 that covers his heartworm prevention for a year. Sweet Cyrano is being fostered in Portland, Oregon, but can be transported anywhere, as long as it’s the best home for him. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. Meet Ema! Ema is an energetic girl despite her age and has so much love to give. She's a classic Velcro dog who wants to be right by your side and soak up all the affection she can. Ema will let you know if a stranger is approaching with a quick bark, but once you're aware, she settles right down. She's the perfect mix of loving companion and little watchdog-sweet, devoted, and always looking out for her people.

Animal Information: Handsome Jack (nka Jackson) is an estimated 12-18-month old 35 lb now neutered male Whippet mix with epic ears and a fantastic temperament. He was found as a stray (with Charlie Girl) on a large ranch property and processed thru COH Animal Control. He was given just 72 hrs because the shelter was beyond capacity so PAWHI stepped in and found him (and Charlie) foster placement. In foster care Jack has learned house-training, crate-training, and leash-training, is comfortable with handling, takes treats gently and shows no behavior issues like resource guarding. He is social and friendly with dogs and people including young children, though he is initially timid with men. He has not been evaluated with cats. This soft and sweet boy is joining Dog Gone Seattle and we look forward to getting to know him in foster care. Foster Profile: Jackson needed a few days to adjust to life on the mainland but he settled into his foster home in stride, seamlessly blending into the pack including several other dogs and kids. He's even respectful of the cat! He's picked up house training and crate training like an old pro and is gaining confidence every day. Jackson is very dog oriented and loves to romp with his dog friends. He will need at least one canine companion in his adoptive home, and he might do better in a pack. He is a soft and sweet natured boy who will bond with people once rapport and trust is established. We anticipate he'll love to chase things once he gets comfortable! She is crate trained, potty trained, rides well in the car, and is wonderfully quiet. Charlie is highly food-motivated and eager to learn. She already knows sit, down, and touch. At just a year and a half old, she's fast, fit, and agile, making her an ideal companion for an active family. She'll thrive with adopters who will keep both her body and mind engaged through exercise, enrichment, and continued training—she truly enjoys learning and catches on quickly. Charlie does have some prey drive outside. Animal Information: Trixie is a 9.5 year old sighthound/terrier mix with a gentle, sensitive nature. Her world recently changed when her owner of nearly 8 years could no longer care for her due to a medical crisis, but through it all she has remained a sweet and loving dog.  On walks she is calm and non reactive, and she really enjoys being outside. Although she had been spending much of her time in a crate, she has done so well in her foster home and has settled right back into a normal routine. Trixie is friendly with everyone she meets. She can be a little unsure in new places at first, but she warms up quickly and will start leaning in for affection before long. She is house trained, crate trained, and rides nicely in the car. Trixie would fit into many different homes and is ready to find a place where she can feel safe and loved again. Foster Profile: Trixie is a sweet girl, looking for someone who would love to give an older girl a great several years of life! She still likes to play and enjoys walks and loves her people. Star’s Rescue Story Star was adopted from NorthWest Wag Rescue about a year ago as a companion for the family’s other dog, Luci. Here we ARE!!! The "K" crew ;) with incredibly inventive K names we are taking the world by storm :D Well, in TX right now it is raining alot and we are pretty sure that it is because of US! We are four beautiful pups who have a muddy upbringing (we were found with 2 other pups around Memorial Day)... lost, scared and beautiful...
