He can be timid and fearful at first, but once he is comfortable he is sweet, affectionate and playful.  He loves being with other dogs and people, once he is comfortable.  Nyx can be easily startled, so we do not recommend him in a home with children.  He was found chained to a wooden kennel with dirt floors and it seems that is where he had spent his life, poor guy.  He will need a calm, quieter home and environment.  Nyx is not suitable for an apartment/condo/townhome and will need one without cats.Nyx would love to have a sponsor.  If this interests you, please see: https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/ Greyhound Pets, Inc. - www.greyhoundpetsinc.org - 877-468-7681 WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT A GREYHOUND? Story
Hi! My name is Funnel Cake. I’m way sweeter than a funnel cloud. In fact, I was rescued from the Pasadena animal shelter after it was hit by a tornado. That was REALLY scary and at first I was afraid of everything. Turned out that I had heartworms too. But, luckily SAVE Rescue Coalition found me and my foster mom has been teaching me all sorts of things! I’ve learned that people are actually pretty nice and snacks are awesome! I love treats so much that I’ve learned some other things too. I know sit, down, touch, crate, stay, and leave it. I’m potty trained and crate trained too! I even know what furniture I’m allowed on and what I’m not. I like other dogs, but my favorites are smaller dogs (I don’t mind if they’re bossy) and laid back bigger dogs. Now that I’m all healthy and I’ve learned that the world isn’t actually that scary, I’m looking for my forever home. I would love a home with another dog or a human that wants to play with me. I also really love training games and learning new things. My foster mom says I’m smart as a whip and that I’m definitely full of personality! I’m not a yappy pup, but I’ll talk (wooo) to you when I have an opinion to share. I’m probably a shepherd mix between 1-2 years old and weigh about 60 pounds. If you think I might be the pup for you, fill out an application at http://saverescue.org My foster mom will give you a call and tell you ALL about me. You can even find more pictures of me on Instagram! #funnelcakebeatsfunnelcloud

Story
Amazing 4-year-old Rey is delightful and upbeat. She is very playful and friendly - and absolutely adores people. Rey loves to give hugs and get belly rubs. Rey can come out the gate fast (she is a strong girl), but she calms down quickly with clear guidance from you, her leader. Rey is eager to learn and our trainers are working with her. She’s such a very smart girl!!! Rey loves her walks and is very good on a leash and very good walking with you. She is good passing by other dogs and jumps right in the car. She’s ready for any adventure! Rey has a good nose on her and loves to track - she would be a great dog to do some scent work with to keep her occupied. Rey would do best in an active home with no small dogs, cats or young children. She is vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed. Rey is a great companion for you and your active family with older children. She’s so ready to meet you! Please contact Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com. You just have to meet her!

Story
Aurora is absolutely darling!!! She is very affectionate and friendly! Aurora LOVES belly rubs and loves to be outside and sunbathe! She has been in a foster home since the beginning of May and is doing wonderfully. She lives with another greyhound and a smaller dog and does really well with both. Her foster mom says she loves to cuddle and if you sit on the floor with her, she will rest her head on you somehow. Aurora loves balls, not to fetch but to squeak! She has the cutest stretch, and yawns and makes a funny sound when she does. She is so sweet and wants to please. Her foster mom has taught her to sit and is work on "paw". Aurora is eager to please and loves playing with toys. She walks well on leash (most of the time - on occasion she can be quite strong) and loves her walks. Aurora does have a high prey drive when she sees something move outside, so she needs someone who can continue her training (she works well with redirection). There are two other dogs in her foster home and they like to play fight - Aurora doesn't get involved when they do, but if she does she likes to slap with her paws and since she is so strong she could hurt a small dog, but if you tell her to stop, she does! She has done well on her house-training too. She also eats well and is not protective of her food. Aurora is really good in the car and mostly sleeps. Her foster mom thinks she will do well with other dogs and/or children as she has poked and prodded and done all the things a greyhound often doesn't like and Aurora has not reacted at all! What a sweetie! Aurora may be ok as an only dog, but she does not like to be crated. Aurora will need a home without cats and with someone who can manage her strength. This is one special girl - such a cuddle bug - someone is missing out on this sweetheart! For questions and to meet super cutie Aurora, please email Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com.

Story
Meet adorable and active Annie! This Lurcher girl is between 5- 6 years old and was rescued by the American Lurcher Project. Annie weighs approximately 60 pounds. She is a very energetic girl and definitely needs a house with a yard. Annie is outgoing, intelligent and mischievous! Annie is food- motivated food and loves her blankets and playing. Annie adores her chin scratches and everything outdoors. She’ll make a great exercise partner as she digs walking, running and hiking. Annie needs a high energy adopter like herself. Annie lived in a very small apartment and even though the people walked her 3 to 5 miles a day, they just couldn’t wear her out. Annie needs to be an only dog because she is way too energetic for most other dogs and plays very roughly. Annie should not go to a home with children. She is a resource guarder and sees the children as competition for her things and food. Annie also has Separation Anxiety that had improved before the Pandemic but now that everyone is home all the time, she is back to square one. The owners did work with a behaviorist and some behaviors have improved. Bless her little heart, Annie likely has some of these issues as she was confined to a very small space all the time. Annie is such a great girl and really deserves a chance! Annie is very routine oriented and can be anxious if the routine is disturbed. She responds well to mental stimulation as well as physical. And that’s a great way to wear her out! Annie would be a great agility dog or some other activity that really makes her think. Miss Annie is ready to meet you at Greyhound Pets in Woodinville. She is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. For questions, please email Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com or for an adoption application, go to: https://www.greyhoundpetsinc.org/adopt/adoption-guide/. You really have to meet this outgoing and truly amazing girl!
