Story
Meet Polito Name: PolitoAge: 2 yearsGender: MaleWeight: 9 lbs (4.3 kg)Breed: Wire-Haired Terrier MixColor: White Health Neutered Up to date on vaccinations Heartworm negative Personality Don't let his tiny size fool you—Polito has a huge personality! This little terrier is full of confidence, charm, and character. He's playful, curious, intelligent, and always ready to brighten your day with his entertaining antics. Like many terriers, Polito forms a very strong bond with his people and thrives on companionship. He enjoys being involved in family life and loves soaking up attention. While he can be a little reserved when meeting new people, he quickly warms up once he feels safe. At the end of an active day, Polito is just as happy curling up on the couch or in his cozy dog bed for some well-earned snuggles. Compatibility Good with other dogs (prefers smaller dogs) Good with children Cats unknown, but may do well with slow, proper introductions No resource guarding Alert barker Low-shedding, wire-haired coat Low to medium energy Training Walks well on leash Rides well in the car House-trained and has adjusted well to living in a home Crate-trained for travel Home Life Polito has always lived around other dogs and enjoys cuddling with his canine companions, but what he truly wants is a person of his own. He would make an excellent companion for someone who is home often or looking for a devoted little shadow. Because terriers are known for forming deep attachments, Polito may develop separation anxiety if left alone for long periods. He will do best in a home where he receives plenty of love, interaction, walks, and mental stimulation. He currently sleeps indoors with his rescuer, rotating between his dog bed, the couch, and the bed—he certainly appreciates the comforts of home! Ideal Home Polito is looking for someone who appreciates the spunky spirit that comes with terriers and wants a loyal, affectionate companion by their side. He would do well: As an only spoiled pup, or with another friendly small dog In an apartment or house where he receives plenty of daily interaction With someone who enjoys taking their dog on walks, errands, or social outings A securely fenced yard is a bonus, as Polito is fearless and doesn't always realize how tiny he is. His family should always keep him safe around larger dogs. His Rescue Story Polito's journey began when an urgent plea for help surfaced about a severe dog-hoarding situation in Guadalajara, Mexico. Among dozens of neglected small dogs, Polito was rescued by a dedicated animal advocate who discovered he shared a particularly close bond with another little dog named Pilar. Despite spending much of his life without the love and stability every dog deserves, Polito has embraced his second chance with incredible resilience. His joyful spirit shines through every day, proving that his difficult past hasn't defined him. Now, Polito is patiently waiting in Mexico for the family he's always deserved—a family who will cherish his big personality, celebrate his loving heart, and give him the forever home he's been waiting for. Location: Mexico (waiting for a committed trial or foster-to-adopt home so he can travel to the Pacific Northwest) Adoption Fee: $600 Apply today: www.northwestwagrescue.org   ##2776202##

Dog Name: PhilipAge: 8 months oldGender: MaleWeight: 27 lbsBreed: Wire Fox Terrier Health Neutered Vaccinated Heartworm Negative Compatibility Good with dogs: Yes Good with kids: Older, dog-savvy children recommended Good with cats: No Training & Habits Leash trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes — keeps his area clean and adjusts quickly to household routines Crate trained: Yes Living Situation Philip is currently living in a foster home in the Pacific Northwest alongside other dogs, where he continues to build confidence and learn daily routines. He enjoys playtime, exploration, and being part of a pack. He does well sharing space with other dogs and has shown that he enjoys both companionship and quiet downtime. Temperament & Personality Philip – A Sweet, Sensitive Boy Looking for Understanding Philip is an intelligent, affectionate, and playful 8-month-old puppy with a lot of potential. He loves treats, enjoys learning, and forms strong bonds with the people he trusts. Once he feels safe, his goofy and loving personality begins to shine. While Philip is social with familiar people and dogs, he can be cautious and overwhelmed in new situations. He is still learning that the world is a safe place and needs time to build trust before being introduced to new people and environments. Because of this, Philip is looking for a family that understands the importance of patience, structure, and allowing a dog to settle in at his own pace. Philip's Ideal Home Philip would do best in a calm, slower-paced home that can give him the time and space he needs to decompress after adoption. He is not the type of dog who will thrive being immediately introduced to lots of visitors, busy social gatherings, or constant activity. A home with a predictable routine, patient adopters, and a commitment to positive reinforcement training will help Philip continue to gain confidence. Another friendly, well-balanced dog could be beneficial, but it is not required. His future family should be prepared to keep his circle small at first and allow him to settle in gradually. With time, consistency, and understanding, Philip has shown that he can build strong relationships and become a devoted companion. Rescue Story Philip was originally adopted by a young family when he was just 2 months old. Sadly, due to unexpected medical issues within the household, they were no longer able to keep a dog and reached out for help to ensure Philip's safety. When Philip first arrived in foster care, he was unsure of the world around him and often responded to unfamiliar people and situations with fear. Since then, he has made tremendous progress. With patience, structure, and guidance, he has gained confidence and continues to show more of his loving personality every day. Like many young dogs who have experienced change and uncertainty, Philip will need a family committed to continuing his journey and helping him feel secure as he adjusts to a new home. Location Currently fostered in the Pacific Northwest and ready to meet potential adopters. Adoption Fee $600 Apply to adopt: www.northwestwagrescue.org Philip is looking for a patient family willing to give him the gift of time. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion who is ready to continue growing, learning, and loving. ##2701753##

Benji is a sweet little guy with a gentle soul. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience, his loving personality quickly shines through. Before coming to the rescue, Benji lived life outdoors and had some hair loss, but now he’s on the mend—his scruffy coat is growing back in, and it just adds to his charm! He’s currently learning all the good stuff about being a spoiled house pup, like walking on a leash and discovering how amazing beds and toys can be. If you have a soft spot for scruffy, adorable boys and a heart for helping a pup continue to blossom, Benji is ready to find his forever home and be your loyal little companion Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Earl – A Boy Worth Saving Earl was once in a beloved family, living a happy life with an owner who adored him. Sadly, his owner developed serious health issues and passed away, leaving no one able to care for him. Through no fault of his own, this grieving dog ended up at a local animal control facility with his sister Marley that was forced to euthanize for space. His story broke hearts across the internet—and ours too. They are wonderful dogs who love people, get along well with other dogs, and are exceptionally well-trained. They simply want a soft place to land and a family to love again. Both Marley and Earl are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, 4DX negative, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. If you'd like to give this deserving duo the second chance they need, apply today at www.adoggie4you.org. Adoption fee if adopted as a pair is $400 if just adopting Earl is $300 They are currently located in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $225 transport fee. We are unable to transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 1, 2026, 4:28 pm

Story
My name is Lucas, and I’m a 4-year-old male Jack Russell Terrier × Welsh mix weighing around 10kg. I have a compact, sturdy body — but my short little legs are what everyone notices first. People often say I look extra adorable when I walk, and I think it’s because every step I take naturally makes people smile. 😊 For a long time, I lived in a shelter. I was rescued just before euthanasia, and since then I’ve been given a second chance at life. Now I’m staying in a training facility where I’m slowly learning what the world is like outside the shelter. Everything still feels new to me — other dogs playing freely, interesting smells on walks, toys, and especially kind human attention. It’s almost like I’m finally experiencing what it means to just be a dog. Because I’m discovering so much for the first time, I get very curious about everything around me. But there are also things I still need help understanding. Sometimes, if a hand suddenly reaches over my head or someone touches me unexpectedly, I can get scared and react defensively. In those moments, it may look like I’m trying to bite, but it’s really just fear — a way for me to protect myself when I feel unsure. When people take time to approach me gently, that behavior becomes much less, and my true personality starts to show. Because deep down… I’m actually a very sweet and affectionate boy. 💛 I just need time. What I need most is not quick bonding, but patience and understanding. If you let me come to you at my own pace instead of forcing touch or rushing interactions, I will slowly begin to trust you. It helps a lot when people approach me from the side or below rather than reaching over my head, and when they use calm voices and positive experiences to help me feel safe. Once I trust someone, I become a completely different dog — I love attention, I follow my person around, and I show a very affectionate and playful side. I also need time to adjust because I haven’t really experienced normal home life before. A house, daily routines, leash walking in neighborhoods, being alone for short periods, and house training — all of these are still new to me. At first, I may feel nervous or make mistakes, but that’s not bad behavior. It’s just me learning how to live in a home. What helps me grow is guidance, not punishment. With a stable routine, regular walks, and positive reinforcement, I can gradually build confidence and feel more secure. I’m smart and curious, and with the right support, I learn step by step at my own pace. In the beginning, it’s really important for me to have a calm environment and not too much overwhelming stimulation. If I’m given space and time to feel safe, I will slowly open my heart. And when I do, I will stay by your side with all my loyalty and love. I may not be the easiest dog at first, but I promise I have a heart that is ready to love deeply once I feel safe. I’m Lucas — a small dog with short legs, a long journey behind me, and a big hope for a forever family who will understand me and walk with me at my own pace. 🐾 Lucas

Story
Hi, I'm Vanilla! 🐶✨ A little lovebug with a big heart, ready to start a brand new chapter — maybe with you? I'm a 2-year-old girl, full of energy, love, and second chances. I didn’t always have it easy — I was left behind at an oyster factory in Tongyeong, forgotten and alone. Even after having four puppies, no one looked out for me… but that’s all in the past now. I was rescued, and ever since, I've been learning how beautiful life can be when you’re loved. Now I know how to trust, how to play, and most of all — how to love back. I’ve even picked up some smart tricks like “sit,” “paw,” and “go to your house!” Not bad, right? I’m super friendly and absolutely adore people — men and women alike. I haven’t met many young children yet, and since I’m pretty bouncy and energetic, I might do best with older kids who can match my vibe. Other dogs? LOVE them. I get excited to meet new furry friends and will happily introduce myself first! I haven’t met any cats yet, so I can’t say how we’d get along, but I don’t have any aggression or prey drive — I’m more about snuggles and zoomies than anything else. I’m still working on leash training, and I’m not totally used to living indoors yet, but I’m a quick learner. If you show me the way, I’ll follow. I’m a good girl with my barking, too — I might bark when someone new comes in or if I’m really excited, but if you say “no,” I usually settle down quickly. I love being touched, hugged, and cuddled, especially by women. I’ll even give you gentle hugs to show you how much I care. With male guardians, I’m respectful — if you’re not in the mood for snuggles, I’ll understand and give you space. I enjoy toys but I don’t destroy things in the house, and I’m not possessive over food or toys either. Sharing is caring, right? Health-wise, I’m in great shape — no major illnesses in my past, just a whole lot of resilience and a heart full of love. Now all that’s missing is a forever family. A warm home. A couch to cuddle on. A person — or people — who will never leave me behind again. Could that be you? I’m ready to be your joy, your companion, and your sunshine. Let’s write our story together. 💛 With love, Vanilla

Story
🏠 Currently in a Seattle foster home Hi, I'm Naru. 🐾 My name is Naru, and I'm a 3-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix weighing about 8 kg. People often tell me I'm extra cute because of my short little legs and my chubby body. I have a funny little waddle when I walk, and my black-and-white face looks like I'm wearing a tiny mask. I think it makes me pretty special. 🖤🤍 Before I was rescued, I was living in a shelter where my time was running out. I don't know what my life could have been, but I was given a second chance. Now, all I'm hoping for is something simple—a family to love and a place where I belong. I get along well with other dogs and I'm always polite with them, but if I'm being honest... people are my favorite. More than playing with other dogs, I love sitting beside someone who calls my name, gently pets me, and lets me simply be close. Those quiet moments mean everything to me. I'm a calm and easygoing boy who rarely barks. At home, I'm happiest relaxing nearby while my family goes about their day. I'm not an overly energetic dog, but I do enjoy daily walks. Taking a slow stroll together, sniffing the fresh air, and exploring the world by your side would be the perfect adventure for me. 🌿 You might notice that I'm missing my front teeth. We don't know exactly what happened in my past, but it doesn't bother me at all! I eat, play, and enjoy life just like any other dog. If anything, my little toothless smile just makes people fall in love with me even more. 😊 When we first meet, I may be a little reserved. I like to take a moment to make sure everything feels safe. But once I trust you, my affectionate side comes shining through. I'll happily lean against you, quietly follow you from room to room, and simply enjoy being near the person I love. I don't need a busy life or grand adventures. I just dream of a cozy home, gentle hands, peaceful walks, and someone who will look at me and say, "You're finally home." I've already been given a second chance at life. Now I'm waiting for the one thing I've never had... A forever family to call my own. ❤️🏡
