Lady is “the perfect dog.” She is so kind and sweet and never does anything wrong. She is good with other dogs and all people as well. She’s good in the car and on a leash. If you are looking for a dog who will not only be a wonderful and affectionate companion but will also fit in easily like she’s lived there her whole life, Lady is your girl. 11 years old and about 11 lbs she’s the ideal pet for someone wanting instant companionship with very little fuss or adjustment. She’s fully vetted and just had a dental which left her with no teeth, however she eats just fine, wet food or dry. Her teeth were terrible and since they were cleaned she now acts like a puppy! Lady is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will require professional grooming every 6–8 weeks. Adoption Fee: $275 This fee includes at least one health exam with our veterinarian while in our care, spay/neuter, all vaccinations (including rabies, as age-appropriate), a pre-adoption professional grooming, and a microchip with lifetime registration at no additional cost. Dogs also leave with a new collar and/or harness, leash, and a gift bag that includes, among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble currently fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also help us rescue the next homeless or unwanted dog in need. Chango is a sweet lil guy. He was found on the streets and he is a little intimidated by the other dogs in the small dog room at Doggie Tails House. He likes to cuddle by his person and be carried around, and the nice thing is he is only 9 lbs. He is good in a kennel and will wait to be taken out to potty, but will have to be trained to your situation.

The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train. Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Hi! A Home visit is required upon adoption. Colton has a grade 5 heart murmur and takes Vetmedin twice a day.
