Meet Wendy! Wendy was found matted and VERY hungry. She had been seen hanging out between the Burger King and McDonalds looking for food. She was not about to let anyone catch her. She had to be humanely trapped. Once she was in a home she turned into a love bug! She is happiest when hanging with her person getting belly rubs. She is a door dasher. Something will need to be in place to prevent her from getting out. She walks on a leash but likes to be in the lead so no retractable leash. She is a digger. Not sure where she thinks she is going but she is trying. Pavers/bricks will need to be under the outside gate if it doesn't have cement. Wendy is spayed , UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and 4DX (tick/heartworm test) negative. Wendy is approximately 3 years old and 11 weighs pounds. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train. Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react.
