The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Hi! My name is Cami, and I am aa very timid, sweet Yorkie girl who was born on 9/20/19, and I weigh 8 pounds. I spent five years in a breeding facility so this bog world is scary. Iam very sweet and get along well with other dogs so a small, furry sibling to learn from is a requirement. An experienced adopter would be ideal.  If you have been waiting for a sweet Yorkie, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. My name is J J and I am a little Yorkie boy who had a very bad start in life. I was mis-treated so I need an experienced adopter who will be patient with me and teach me all about this big new world. I am 8 years old, and I weigh 9 pounds. I need a quiet all adult home with a fenced in yard and a sibling to help me learn would be ideal. I was adopted and my mommy had a family emergency and couldn’t take care of me anymore, so she returned me to BRAS. If you have been waiting for a beautiful Yorkie, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, J J 061524-14April 27, 2025, 2:45 pm

Story
Hey, there! My name is Brady and I am a 7 year old 14 lb Yorkshire Terrier. I know I’m adorable and as cute as can be and guess what? I am smart as a whip, too! My original owner had me since I was a pup, but having to move into assisted living made finding me a new home a must. Thank goodness I came to Forever Loved. I’m going to be real honest with you, because dogs don’t lie, I hardly ever got let out and was expected to potty on puppy pads so my house training needs a lot of work. They say I am wicked smart, and super treat motivated, so if you treat me like I am a puppy, reward me immediately when I potty outside, and limit my freedom when you can’t watch me, I promise I can learn! I am very picky about other doggy pals, but really, being with you and playing with toys and puzzles are the best thing ever. I am good on the leash, and I love to go for walks, but I prefer walking in a quiet neighborhood where I won’t see a bunch of other dogs. Let’s just say I bark at them! Here’s my last quirk - I have separation anxiety when you leave me. The trainer here at the shelter has ways that you and I can work on that, so please give me a chance. I have so much character, spunk, and love to spare…
