Story
Looks like: Terrier mix Male, 12 years old (estimated), 17 pounds Adorable and cuddly like a stuffed animal, Chip is a sweet guy with lots of love to give. This handsome fella loves the affection and company of people and enjoys a good snuggle. Chip is such a happy and confident little guy that enjoys napping, being guided to the best potty spots, and snacking. Chip is fully deaf and mostly blind which leaves him a tad bit disoriented in new situations. He also walks a bit unsteady as he came to us underweight with severe muscle wasting, and arthritic knees. The ideal home for this sweet guy would be very careful and considerate of Chip's ailments to ensure a safe environment. He is the very definition of easy going, he doesn't mind dogs or cats. Due to how small and delicate he is we do recommend his adopter monitor children when they interact with our sweet boy. This wonderful little guy came to us after a shelter that was at capacity reached out for help.

Story
Looks like: Yorkshire terrier/Poodle mix Male, 14 years old (estimated), 7 pounds Sparky is a sweet little guy ready to scamper his way into your heart. This little angel was in very poor condition and clearly neglected before joining POMDR. After a lot of love, care, and a much needed haircut, little Sparky is feeling better than ever! Now that he feels safe and comfortable, his personality is starting to shine through and he sure is sweet and spunky. For such a tiny fella, he has the biggest heart with lots of love to give. His favorite things are exploring new places and taking in all the wonderful smells, napping in the sun, and being pet adoringly. This little guy enjoys the company of other dogs but doesn't pay them much mind. He would be ideal for a home with pet parents that will keep a watchful eye on his interactions with tiny humans or ensure he's in a child free space, as he is quite fragile. Sweet Sparky joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services where he was brought in as a stray.

Story
Looks like: Maltese mix Female, 8 years old (estimated), 13 pounds Dottie is a very gentle and mellow little lady who will immediately invite anyone she meets to give her belly rubs or pick her up. And who could ever resist petting her silky and beautiful coat? Her natural black lipstick is probably one of her most adorable features, along with her serious snoring and wild REM dreams. In spite of her blindness, she navigates her surroundings amazingly well, although she needs a bit of a guiding hand on slow leashed walks in unknown territory. This sweet girl gets excited when she catches a whiff of another dog nearby, then follows her nose to go sniffing for them. She can be a bit clumsy and may accidentally bump into other dogs, sometimes to the surprise of all involved. She does not have any known experience with small children and would prefer to live in a calm and predictable household. Miss Dottie has tons of joy and love to share and is looking for human companions who will make her golden years extra special and are understanding of her needs. She would like you to know that car rides make her pretty nervous and being left home alone makes her anxious. She would love to find someone who is equally content spending lots of quality snuggle time at home, would enjoy toddling around the yard together, or going for slow strolls in the surrounding neighborhood. This 13+ pound nugget needs to get picked up and carried around a bit and she would also appreciate continued potty training. Her foster family likes to brush her luxurious curls every day and, above all, just love her to pieces. Dottie came to us from Hollister Animal Services so that she could get the medical care she needs.

Story
Looks like: Lhasa Apso mix Female, 12 years old (estimated), 20 pounds Lovely Lilly is proof that age is just a number and even the most delicate and adventurous pups can hold their beautiful and fluffy curls. This gorgeous Lady loves to be out and about, explore, and go on long walks, taking in all the sights and smells. She walks nicely on leash and is friendly with humans of all ages and dogs of all sizes. This laid-back girl relishes snoozing on the couch and doing her own thing, interspersed with occasional pets and cuddles. When home alone, she is well-behaved and waits patiently for her company to return. Lilly is very smart, gentle, and confident, and will easily adjust to new circumstances and adventures. Though this charming and loving little lady gets along great with other dogs she prefers to be the princess of the house and may be best suited as a solo dog. Lilly's ideal home would be feline free as chasing cats is a little too fun! Sweet Lilly is very polite and gentle when meeting children at adoption events. Lilly was surrendered to Santa Cruz County Animal Services because of her medical needs that need a little extra TLC.

Story
Looks like: Maltese, Poodle Mix Male, 14 years old (estimated), 19 pounds Buddy Boy is looking for his forever pal. Could that be you? Buddy is a gentle senior fellow who is a little hard of hearing and starting to lose his eye sight, but if you lay a blanket or towel down on the couch, he will see that as his spot and is ready to cuddle up and nap the day away! Buddy does great around other dogs and has lived with many canine companions over the years. He used to live with a cat as well. He has also lived with children, but in his senior years, he prefers a quieter home and would love to find someone with whom he can share a peaceful retirement. He loves riding in the car and gets short spurts of zoomies, running around with his soft toys! Buddy can be quite nervous in new situations and meeting new people, so slow and gentle greetings are a must. But he loves people! Once he's met you and gotten some snuggles, you're in his circle! He'll follow you around asking for pets and will even paw at you for attention. Sadly, Buddy Boy's senior guardian recently passed away after being together for the past 14 years. He came to POMDR to find his next cuddle buddy.
