Story
Gregory is a young, 20-lb Yorkshire Terrier mix with the biggest heart and the easiest soul. He was rescued from a hoarding situation in California’s Central Valley, and despite everything he’s been through, Gregory has come out the other side remarkably well-adjusted, gentle, and sweet. True to his Yorkie mix roots, Gregory is an easygoing little guy who enjoys being near his people without needing to be the center of attention. He’s what we like to call a good dude—calm, affectionate, and happy to go with the flow. He can be a tiny bit wary when meeting new people, but it doesn’t last long at all; once he realizes you’re a friend, he warms up quickly and is all soft eyes and quiet companionship. Gregory would thrive in a home looking for a low-key, loving pup with a resilient spirit and a whole lot of heart. He’s ready to leave his past behind and start the next chapter of his life with a family who will love him the way he deserves. 💛

Story
Rock is a charming senior Yorkshire Terrier with a tender heart and a whole lot of love to give. He spent many happy years with his devoted mom, but due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, she had to move into assisted care and could no longer keep him. Now Rock is looking for a soft place to land and a new person to call his own. True to his Yorkie roots, Rock is loyal, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his people. Yorkshire Terriers are known for their big personalities in small bodies, and Rock is no exception—he’s alert, expressive, and loves being close. Seniors of this breed often make wonderful companions: content to lounge, happy to follow you from room to room, and always ready for cuddles. Rock is missing one eye, but it doesn’t slow him down or bother him in the slightest. He navigates the world with confidence and charm, proving that he’s far more interested in love and comfort than appearances. Like many Yorkies, he enjoys cozy spots, gentle attention, and being treated like the cherished companion he is. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key dog who will be endlessly devoted and grateful, Rock may be the perfect match. He’s a resilient little soul who’s ready to start his next chapter wrapped in love. 🐾✨

Story
Meet Wesley — the sweetest little scruff muffin Wesley is a 3&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old, 13&#226&#128&#145lb Yorkie mix and an undeniably adorable bundle of scruff and charm. A perfect housemate Wesley is crate trained, potty trained, and a total gentleman around the house. He’s incredibly affectionate and lives for snuggles — whether he’s curled up beside his foster parents or cozied up with his doggy foster sister. One of his most endearing quirks? He loves to sleep flat on his back, belly up, completely relaxed and trusting. A sensitive soul outdoors Wesley shines in the comfort of home, but the outside world can feel a bit overwhelming. On leash, unfamiliar people and dogs can make him a tiny bit nervous, and he may bark. With gentle redirection, he’s learning to navigate those moments — and he’s already making wonderful progress. Despite his worries, he’s always the first one out the door, tail wagging with enthusiasm. His ideal home Wesley will thrive in a calm, patient household, ideally with another friendly dog who enjoys cuddles, relaxed hangouts, and gentle play. He’s not a match for cats — our boy Wes finds small, fast creatures far too interesting.   If you’re looking for a loyal, tenderhearted companion who will adore you, grow with you, and snuggle his way into your heart, Wesley just might be your perfect match.   Bay Area Adoption/Fostered in San Jose Area. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for WESLEY is $300. If you are interested in adopting WESLEY, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. Story
BLACKIE came into Rescue when his people had to move & couldn’t take him with them; we are currently awaiting a neuter appointment for him after which he will be ready to move into his new household; Right now he’s a definite lap magnet! Whenever his people present a lap he is the first to hop into it and he climbs doggie steps to join his people on their bed at night; Blackie is fearful of tasty bites tossed to him, but will take them gently from fingers when offered without other dogs trying to grab; return to wrenyorkierescue.org.to print your adoption application form for this sweet boy!

Story
JULY 2025: Luke is a sweet quiet boy who will join in if other pack members start being vocal! He is friendly, but responds fearfully if fast hands grab at him—so we are recommending a household with NO SMALL CHILDREN or anyone who has an aggressive controlling attitude. Luke likes to hang out outside in nice weather or when other pack members are playing with toys (he will join in!). Inside he likes to hang out in his bed under a bookcase or below the raised footrest of a recliner. At night Luke likes to climb doggie steps up to his human’s mattress and sleeps quietly through the night. LUKE is trained to use wee pads to do his business or a dog door to access an enclosed patio or safely fenced yard. He is not a digger so won’t destroy flower beds. He WILL dart out an open door or gate to take himself for a walk, so again, recommending a childless, totally dog-aware household. To be considered to add Luke to your household, please PRINT an adoption application from WrenYorkieRescue.org or request an online application if don’t have a printer.
