Story
Meet Sasquatch Cryptid If you’ve ever wished for a tiny, lovable shadow who believes personal space is a team sport—Sasquatch Cryptid might just be your guy. Sasquatch is a 10-year-old, 7-lb Maltese/Yorkie mix with a charming brown-and-grey coat and a BIG love for life. He adores other dogs, cats and people, and his happiest place is on a cozy dog bed, preferably surrounded by other four legged friends. The more, the merrier! Despite having cataracts, Sasquatch gets around like a pro. He’s figured out the doggie door, uses a stool to climb onto the couch, and enjoys wandering the backyard to sniff out all the good smells. He’s learning to walk on a leash, is making progress with housetraining, and doesn’t mind car rides—bonus points if the adventure ends with snacks or cuddles. This little guy is also a world-class snuggler. Sasquatch loves being carried around like a baby, whether that’s in your arms or tucked into a sling, and he’s perfectly content tagging along wherever you go. Sasquatch does not like being alone and will happily follow you from room to room, barking if he gets left behind. Because of his impaired vision and his desire to always be right by your side, he would do best in a home without mobility challenges, as he can accidentally walk right into your feet while you’re moving. Overall, Sasquatch is an active, affectionate, and resilient little dog who wants to be part of everything you do—on the couch, in the car, or carried close to your heart. He is currently fostered in Vacaville and available for meet and greets. &#226&#156&#130&#239&#184&#143 Medical note: Sasquatch is scheduled for neuter and dental surgery on 3/3. He is eligible for a foster-to-adopt placement if his new family is willing to bring him to our vet in Pittsburg for his procedures. If you’re looking for a sweet, social companion who will happily be your sidekick (or your sling buddy), Sasquatch Cryptid is ready to join your pack.   GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Working on it Crate Trained?: Yes Leash Trained?: Working on it Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Yes Good with dogs?: Yes Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: Yes Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. Story
Betty is a 3-year-old Yorkshire Terrier mix with a tender heart and a brave spirit. She came to Family Dog Rescue from a hoarding situation in California’s Central Valley along with her three puppies, all of whom she cared for so lovingly despite the difficult circumstances she came from. When Betty first arrived, she was understandably terrified of people and unsure of the world around her. But in just a few short days in her foster home, this little girl began to blossom. Once she realized she was safe, Betty started seeking out affection, jumping into laps, and soaking up the love she had clearly been missing. Betty is incredibly sweet and very smart — she already responds to her name and is eager to connect with her people. With a little patience and kindness, she’ll be a wonderful dog to train and will thrive in a home where she can continue to build her confidence. She may be a little shy at first, so her ideal adopter will simply give her a day or two to settle in and feel secure. Once she does, her affectionate and loving personality shines through. Betty does enjoy chasing cats, so she would do best in a home without them. This resilient little mama has come so far in such a short time. Now she’s ready to leave her past behind and find a loving home where she can feel safe, cherished, and part of the family. Betty will make a wonderful companion for someone willing to give her a little patience and a lot of love — and in return, she’ll give you her whole heart. 🐾

Story
Pixie is a darling little Yorkshire Terrier mix with the softest eyes and the gentlest spirit. This petite sweetheart is submissive, affectionate, and happiest when she’s close to her person. At first, Pixie can be a bit shy — new faces and places make her pause and take it all in. But give her a little patience and a lot of kindness, and you’ll see her blossom into the most devoted little companion. Once she feels safe, she seeks out affection with quiet nudges and tender cuddles. Pixie would thrive in a calm, loving home that understands her sensitive nature. She’d do wonderfully with someone who enjoys slow mornings, cozy evenings, and the special bond that comes from earning a shy dog’s trust. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle soul to share your heart and home, Pixie might just be your perfect match. 💕
