Story
Are you looking for a sweet and gentle cuddle bug to add to the family? If so, say hello to Handsome! This boy is ready to jump in your lap and give you all the love and snuggles he has to offer. Handsome is happy to just lay on your lap and lounge the day away with you; he doesn't ask for anything but your love and attention. He's not a huge fan of playing or toys, he is much more interested in relaxing with his humans. Handsome may enjoy following you around, joining his family on their daily outings and saying hi to everyone he sees. Handsome can be particular about his doggy friends and would like to meet any dogs in the home before adoption. He would likely do best with a calm, tolerant dog of similar size and energy who will take things slow with him and give him space as he needs it. Does Handsome sound like a great addition to your family? Come down and see him today!Ideal home for Handsome:- not recommended for condo/apartment living due to reactivity towards other animals- must meet dogs, may do well with calm, small dog

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tiny  [called "TeeTee" by his foster mom] was 'found' by someone who tried to sell him instead of search for his owner.  A very savvy rescuer paid the 'fee' so she could bring Tiny into foster care while we searched for his owner.  It's been several weeks, and his owner has never been located. Tiny is a young Yorkshire Terrier.  He has it all in the 'tiniest' of packages: affectionate, friendly, portable, pretty quiet, crate trained, mostly potty trained, likes other dogs and even kids although he is a bit reserved when meeting strangers.  All this, and just a bit of Terrier tenacity.  Currently, he weighs only 3.5 pounds and is underweight.  Tiny had a health exam and received all age-appropriate vaccines.  Bloodwork was done to learn if he had an underlying medical issue to explain his lack of weight.  Bloodwork results did not reveal anything.  However, he does have significant luxating patellas in both knees.  Tiny does need to be neutered but needs to gain at least a pound before he can have neuter surgery. In his foster home, Tiny enjoys following his foster mom around, hanging out with the resident dogs and chewing on Nyla bones. He is a true 'Velcro' dog. He takes cues from the other dogs on how to respond to the doorbell ringing, people coming in the home, and going outdoors to potty.  He is a good student and fast learner! Tiny tends to attach to one person even where others are present.  If he is coddled too much, he will develop the dreaded "small dog syndrome" [ How to Understand Small Dog Syndrome (Plus How to Fix It) (wikihow.com)]   We are seeking a very special home for Tiny where he will never again need to worry about being sold on a street corner.  No children under 12 years of age please due to his small size and tendency to get underfoot.  He would love another canine companion to hang out with....one on the smaller size so he doesn't get stepped on.   https://www.facebook.com/reel/1106305723814041         Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
Roxie~born~May 2013Special BreedI'm a diva. THERE! I SAID it!! And I'm proud of it! And I will LET you KNOW it! AND I will NOT STOP NAGGING you until I get what I WANT!! And I MEAN IT!! (My foster mom used to squirt water at me to "bring me out of it", as she puts it, but now she just shows me the bottle, and I stop.)She squirted WATER at me!! Like I'm a CAT!! There's a few of those here. I've let them know how I feel about THEM! Stupid things. When I got here, boy, I was MAD!!! For a whole WEEK I was mad! So mad that my foster mom gave me my OWN bedroom, with a screen door on it so I could get use to the other critters. Every time she came near me, I'd try to chew off her TOES!! She had to keep a leash on me so she could get me outside. And she had to pick it up QUICKLY, because I'd try to BITE her. But she's really kind. And I was getting lonely, so I asked her politely if I could come out of my room and have her hold me. And, of course, she said yes (but she was a bit scared). She still kept my leash on me, just in case, but one morning she took a chance and QUICKLY unbuckled it. And I didn't try to bite her.I'm from Florida. Oh, FLORIDA!! Where it's ALWAYS warm...and sunny...not like Michigan, where it's been cold and grey and rainy. I had a great life with my mom in Florida, but she died, so I went to live with her granddaughter here in Michigan. But she couldn't give me the life she felt I deserved, so she was brave and gave me to PAAW so I could find another home. And I was SO MAD!!!It's nice here at my foster home. I made some friends (but there's another girl dog here that I don't like, so I start fights with her). AND...I have a boyfriend! ooOOoo!! He's a Yorkie. Like me. I still have my own bedroom . (Sometimes he comes in my bedroom with me, hee hee hee.) My foster mom tried moving my crate and my soft bed (it's my very own, the one I had when I moved here) out of the bedroom, but I didn't like it. So she moved me back into the bedroom. When I want to go there, I ask her politely (I can be NICE when I want to), and she lets me in. Sometimes I go in because I'm tired. Sometimes because I want to be alone. And sometimes because I'm in a BAD MOOD. And then I SULK! With my BACK to the DOOR! Sometimes when I'm in a bad mood, she sings my name to me over and over. And it calms me.I'm 10 years old. I don't know my birthdate. I've had babies (cuz I've got boobies!). I got spayed on Friday (May 5). They looked at my teeth when I was sleeping and said that I need dental work done. They also said that I have a mammary mass, so I guess I'm going to have another vet visit.I have this habit of having little puddles of pee come out of me. My foster mom thinks I don't always have control. She thinks it just kind of comes out. She had me wear diapers for a while, really CUTE ones from Amazon, but I decided that I didn't want to wear them anymore, so now I try to BITE her when she tries to put them on. I do ask to go outside; I'm good with that.My foster mom knows I want a lot of love, and that I have a lot of love to give, and she thinks I might be OK having a brother, but I don't like having sisters. My foster mom thinks I'm just jealous. I LOVE it when she picks me up and cradles me in her arm and "tickles" my belly. I LOVE looking her in her eyes when she does that. And then I close my eyes and just enjoy the "tickling".I'm up-to-date on all of my vaccines, and I'm heartworm negative, and I'm microchipped. If I'm too much of a diva for you, do you know of someone else? My foster mom says that I'm really loving, when I'm not being a diva or in a bad mood. Oh, and I have some mats that are bugging me. But I'll get a haircut when I'm sleeping during my dentist appointment._____The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org
