We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! Story
Dog Adoption Profile: Mochi Say hello to Mochi, an adorable 8-month-old Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix weighing in at just 8 pounds of pure personality! Mochi was found as a stray in Detroit and sadly was never reclaimed, but she hasn’t let that slow her down one bit. This little girl is full of life, love, and happy puppy energy. Mochi is a sweet, playful, and energetic pup who truly believes the world is full of friends. She has never met a stranger—every new person she meets is instantly her new best buddy. Because of her lively nature, she’ll do best with an active family that can keep up with her enthusiasm for life. She enjoys the company of other dogs and doesn’t mind cats, making her a great potential fit for a multi-pet household. Due to her size and puppy behaviors, Mochi would do best with dog-savvy children who understand how to interact gently with small, energetic pups. Mochi is currently working on leash training and learning all the basics of being a well-mannered companion. She is also learning crate training—though she can be a little vocal about it at times if she thinks protesting might change your mind! Like all pups of her breed mix, Mochi will require regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best. This little lady is not a good candidate for a tether system or invisible fence—she needs a safe, secure environment and plenty of time with her people. Above all else, Mochi loves to be with her humans and soak up attention and affection. Mochi is ready to leave her stray days behind and find a family who will love her, play with her, and cherish her furever. Could that be you? Mochi is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedSpayedADOPTION FEE: $400 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. ##2631418##
