Story
READ HIS DESCRIPTION BEFORE FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION King has been through more than his fair share of ups and downs. For years he was found running loose and taken to the pound, only to be reclaimed by his owner—until one day, they didn’t come back. The condition he was left in was heartbreaking: a horribly matted coat, nails painfully overgrown, and several missing teeth. Despite all of this, King’s spirit shines. He is truly a SWEETHEART who adores people and loves to be part of the action. But there are a few things to know about him: 🐾 Age: He is 8 years old, a young Yorkshire Terrier mix, and full of spunk. 🐾 No Cats: King does not get along with feline friends. 🐾 Escape Artist: He must always be leashed or on a secure lead, even in a fenced yard, as he’s clever at finding ways out. 🐾 Dog Relationships: King enjoys other dogs, but he prefers his one‑on‑one time with humans. He can get moody if another pup interrupts his special moments. So he would be better in a home by himself. 🐾 Kids: We do not know how King would be with kids. Due to his tendency to escape, he would do best in a home with older children who follow rules and won't accidentally let him out. 🐾 Currently using belly bands while inside - he's a work in progress and will need someone willing to work with him. King deserves a home that understands his quirks and celebrates his resilience. With patience, structure, and lots of love, he will reward you with endless affection and loyalty. Adoption fee: $350

Story
Video 1: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/_I98d4DP6jw Video 2: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/R4ikj0Xsa10 Rudolph is about a year old and weighs 16 lbs. He was found dumped in a field where he would have certainly died if he wasn't rescued. He is the sweetest little boy who loves cuddles and kisses and follows me like a champ. He was a litte intimidated by all the big dogs at the rescue at first but once he realized that everyone is a friend he joined the gang and now runs and plays with everyone in the yard freely. He is also great with cats, including kittens. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $650 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Meet Benny! Benny is a 6-month-old Yorkie and Shih Tzu mix weighing just 6 pounds, and he’s packed with charm in a tiny package. He came into rescue when his previous owner realized they didn’t have the time needed for a puppy. When Benny arrived, he was matted and overgrown and needed to be shaved down—but with a little care and love, his sweet personality quickly shined through. This little guy is a total people-lover and enjoys being close to his humans. Benny is affectionate, loves attention, and is happiest when he’s with his people. He enjoys playing with toys and has done well with other dogs that are tolerant of typical puppy energy. He has also shown no issues with cats. Benny is still learning the ropes of puppy life. He’s working on his leash manners and had a few accidents when he first arrived in his foster home, but he’s catching on quickly and responding well to a consistent routine. He is crate trained and does well with structure. As a grooming-required breed mix, Benny will need regular grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best. Because of his petite size, Benny would likely do best with dog-savvy children who understand how to be gentle and respectful. He’s still very much a puppy and will need an active family ready to keep up with his playful antics, continue his training, and provide guidance as he grows. Benny does not like being tethered and isn’t shy about voicing his opinion on the matter! If you’re looking for a tiny companion with a big heart who’s ready to be loved, spoiled, and included in all of life’s moments, Benny may be the perfect addition to your family. Benny is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedNeuteredADOPTION FEE: $425 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. ##2610866##
