Story
History: Goldy is a super beautiful girl who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart with her smile and happy personality. She has her paws crossed to find her forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Goldy is a quiet, sweet-natured girl who’s still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. She came to us in rough shape, and while she’s made progress, she’s still adjusting and will need a calm, patient family to help her continue to build confidence. Goldy does well with other small dogs and is also cat-friendly. She’s not a fan of fast movements and can be skittish, so a home without children is best. She’s learning to walk on a leash, though she sometimes prefers to choose her own direction. She’s not currently crate-trained and prefers to sleep on the couch. She’s working on house training and does go outside, but still has accidents indoors. Goldy thrives when she can be near her person and is happiest just quietly shadowing you around the house. She’s not high-energy and doesn’t need a lot of activity—just time, understanding, and a safe space to continue healing. If you’re someone who can offer consistency, patience, and a quiet environment, Goldy could be the perfect companion for you.

Story
History: Marge is a super beautiful girl who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart. She is working on her trust and confidence and is hoping to find a patient family of her very own soon! A Note from the Foster: Marge is about 12 lbs and very quick on her little feet. She came from a commercial breeder in the south and is one of the most skittish dogs I’ve had so far when it comes to humans. She has been making progress since coming to our house but it takes patience and we go at her pace. Over the last month, Marge has slowly let me get closer to her and give her treats but I still have to toss them on the ground because she isn’t comfortable taking them out of my hand yet. She does sit still and let me pet her every now and then but for the most part she keeps about a 6 foot distance from me in the house and in the yard. She likes to pop her head in while I eat dinner on the couch to see if I’ll share some snacks with her. I try to reward her with food any time she’s in my space. Marge is still working on her confidence with people but she thrives with another dog in the house. She LOVES her foster sister, Mini, a 12 lb female Yorkie. They go everywhere together and love to chase bunnies and hunt chipmunks in the backyard. They take naps curled up together and like to wrestle and play chase every once in a while too. Marge will need a patient family who can go at her pace and I think she would really benefit from another dog who wants her companionship. Her personality comes out little by little and she loves snacks so I’m hopeful that she will continue making progress!

Meet Chewy! 💛 This scruffy little Yorkie mix is as sweet as he is shy. He came to us as a stray and is still a bit nervous, so we haven’t pushed him with grooming yet—but once he’s in your arms, he absolutely melts. Chewy is about 3 years old and weighs just 8 pounds. He’s looking for a patient, loving forever home that will give him time to feel safe and bloom into the happy little companion we know he can be. With kindness, reassurance, and a gentle routine, Chewy is going to make someone such a special best friend.

YOU WILL FIND THE ANSWER TO ALL BASIC QUESTIONS BELOW. Please read carefully Before emailing. *If you have emailed using an “Apple ID” or other relay system you will Not recieve a response as they block Petfinder. All emails are answered within 24 hours. This dog is fostered near Crystal MN. Tiger is a darling 1 year old mixed breed guy. He weighs about 10 pounds currently. He is a total mystery mutt. Maybe a terrier type, maybe a poodle type, but it’s all a guess. Tiger lost his front leg after an unknown accident. He was found with a cast or bandage on the leg, and unfortunately, the leg had become gangrenous under the bandage. Tiger is sweet and friendly. He is good with other dogs. We do not know if he’s ever seen a cat. He’s could be nicely introduced in a new home. He has started to be house and crate trained. He may have accidents in a new home while he settles in. Tiger would do great in a basic training class to help bond with a new family too. A little time and he is going to be your very best friend. *Each pup is spayed or neutered and current on their vet cares. *We do not hold or reserve dogs. We do not ship or fly. Prospective families must come to the dogs location in MN to meet.* *Emails are answered in the order they are received. We are receiving a large number of emails, so answering promptly is our goal. If you are interested in adoption, your prompt responses are the best way to get through the adoption screening* *Adoption fees are payable in cash or money order only. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!         Elodie is the perfect blend of snuggly sweetheart and playful, happy puppy. She’ll curl into your arms, gaze at you with pure love, and shower you with excited little kisses—then bounce off to chase a toy, play with dogs of any size, or proudly parade around with a bone in her mouth. She’s always ready for fun, whether it’s fetch, exploring the yard, or chewing on her favorite toys. This smart girl already knows sit and is picking up potty training quickly with a consistent schedule. She keeps her kennel clean and is learning that it’s a safe and cozy place to nap and enjoy her meals. She may protest a bit when first going in, so a home without shared walls is best, but she settles down much faster now—especially after a good play session or walk and with a chew to keep her busy. Elodie would thrive with an active family who loves walks, hikes, and maybe even wants a future running buddy. She loves praise and beams with pride when she does her business outside—she’ll even trot back to you and gently hop against your leg for a belly rub and a “good girl!” Like many puppies, she’s still learning what’s OK to chew. She’s been known to nibble on shoes (so tuck your favorites away!), and she may mouth tiny kid fingers, but she’s redirecting well and improving every day. She hasn’t chewed anything else she shouldn’t and is wonderfully food-motivated, which makes training fun and easy. Elodie doesn’t need a fenced yard, and she could happily be an only dog or join a home with a friendly canine companion. If you’re looking for a loving, bright, active puppy who will adore you endlessly, Elodie is your girl I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
