Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Buddy – Your Dignified, Fetch-Loving Cuddle bug! Buddy is an 11-year-old yorkie that will follow you everywhere. Don’t let his age fool you—this distinguished gentleman still has plenty of pep in his step and absolutely adores playing fetch. Buddy is always up for a game and will happily trot back with pride. He is a big fan of the dog park and while being in new places can stress him out at first, he tends to adapt and relax quickly allowing everyone to enjoy themselves and pet him. He will also let you know if there a intruders/youths/neighbors or dogs near the house -perhaps casually walking by. Nothing gets past him. Buddy would do best in a home with a fenced yard and as the only dog. When playtime is over, Buddy is all about the snuggles and prefers to be in the same room as you, hopefully there is a comfy couch or bed there as well.  If you need a snuggle companion, look no further. Buddy wears belly bands in the house and like the dapper dude he is, takes it all in stride. He has been suffering from seizures however he is now on medication, and they are well under control. His condition will require lifelong management and medication, so his new owners will need to understand this and be committed to this maintenance. He also has a grade 4/6 heart murmur. No medication is needed for this at this time but it is something to also note as he ages. He would thrive in a home where he can enjoy short walks, cozy naps, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a mature pup who still knows how to have fun and melt hearts, Buddy might just be your perfect match. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Zander is a 14&#226&#128&#145pound Yorkshire Terrier mix with a gentle heart, a goofy streak, and a deep love for “his person.” He’s the definition of a shadow dog — wherever you go, he’s right behind you, checking in, hoping for pets, and always ready for a treat. He bonds closely and loves nothing more than being near his human. He’s curious and friendly with other dogs of all sizes, and he loves doing zoomies in the yard with them. He’s respectful of other dogs’ space, though he’ll politely tell overly pushy puppies to back off. He doesn’t need another dog in the home, but he truly thrives with a confident adult dog who can keep him company and help him feel secure. If he’s the only dog, he’ll need someone home most of the time — he’s happiest when he has companionship. Zander is extremely food&#226&#128&#145motivated and will be the first one at your feet when he hears the treat bag. He loves snacks of all kinds, including fruits and veggies, and mealtime is one of his favorite parts of the day. He enjoys toys, loves to run, and does hilarious high jumps when he gets the zoomies. He’s potty trained on a schedule and crate trained, though he’s still working on being fully comfortable in the crate and may have accidents in it. He freezes on a leash and will not reliably potty while leashed, so a fenced yard is required for him. He loves car rides and will curl up in a blanket, happy just to be along for the adventure. Zander is affectionate, gentle, even&#226&#128&#145tempered, and eager to please. When you stop petting him, he’ll look up at you like, “Why did you stop?” — especially if you were scratching right above his tail, his favorite spot. He’s a sweet, loyal little guy who just wants a person to follow, a yard to zoom in, and a home where he can feel safe and loved. Zander is ready to be someone’s devoted companion and bring joy, silliness, and snuggles to his forever family Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  I know you want to meet me! Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Sunday, February 15th from 1:15-2:15 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Cheyenne is an 8&#226&#128&#145pound Yorkie with a tender heart and a blossoming spirit. Deaf and recovering from past ear infections, she’s learning how to navigate the world with curiosity, courage, and the help of the dogs around her. After a rough start to life, she’s finally discovering what it means to feel safe—and her personality gets cuter every day as her confidence grows. When she first arrived, Cheyenne would hide, army crawl when approached, and bark anxiously in her crate. Now, she eagerly approaches the people she trusts, initiates contact and even warms up to new faces faster than expected. She still army crawls when picked up, but it’s clear she wants connection—she just needs time and patience to feel fully secure. Cheyenne absolutely adores other small dogs and learns best by watching and following their lead. A confident canine companion is essential for her continued progress. She also needs a home where someone is around most of the day; being alone, even briefly, is very stressful for her, and she will bark if she can’t see her people. Her silly side is emerging too—she dances on her hind legs at mealtime, proudly carries around toys, leaves, or bits of paper, and growls playfully to get your attention while wiggling her whole butt. She loves car rides and is a perfect passenger, and at night she sleeps curled up next to her foster mom, warm and content. Cheyenne is doing well with potty training on a schedule but still has accidents. She’s learning simple hand signals and would benefit from continued positive&#226&#128&#145reinforcement training tailored to her hearing impairment. A fenced yard is important so she can safely explore, sniff, and enjoy her surroundings. This gentle, goofy, affectionate little girl will thrive with a patient adopter, a calm home, and a friendly dog to show her the ropes. With time, love, and understanding, Cheyenne will reward her family with deep trust, sweet cuddles, and the joy of watching her continue to bloom. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Blanket (affectionately called Blanky) is a 6.5&#226&#128&#145pound senior Yorkie with a mellow, gentle soul and a heart full of quiet affection. He’s the kind of dog who chooses his moments — he loves to snuggle, but always on his own terms, picking the perfect time and place to curl up beside you. He has two favorite napping spots: by the door and in his cozy corner. He also enjoys sitting on the couch to “watch TV,” though he usually falls asleep almost immediately. At home, he loves cuddling with his foster siblings, often forming an adorable little Yorkie pile. He’s shy with strangers and will retreat to his bed when new people visit, but with his trusted humans he’s sweet, gentle, and devoted. Blanket isn’t much of a toy player, but he loves food — any kind of food. He runs like a puppy when he hears a snack bag open, especially Cheez&#226&#128&#145Its. He also takes his role as bathroom bodyguard very seriously, following his foster mom and keeping watch while she gets ready for the day. He’s working on potty training again after losing some progress during the winter, and he’s still learning leash skills — he tends to freeze when the leash goes on. He’s crate trained, barks a little when excited (especially at mealtime), and then “cries” softly until his food is served. He gets very excited at bedtime and does a cute little dance on the bed before settling in. Blanket is affectionate, goofy, timid, and incredibly gentle. He’s a wonderful match for seniors or anyone looking for a calm, low&#226&#128&#145maintenance companion who enjoys snuggles, soft routines, and simply being near his person. Blanky would make a lovely, loyal companion — sweet, undemanding, and full of quiet charm. He’s ready to bring warmth and comfort to a home that appreciates the gentle joy of a senior dog. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi! My name is Tula, and I am a 7 pound female yorkie and about 6 years old. I can’t wait until I go to my furever home. I am  very brave girl and getting used to living with people, in fact I like the company of people, but I will back away if you approach me. I am a little cautious, but foster mom says I am getting braver everyday!  I love puzzles and treat dispenser toys, but my all-time favorite treat is dried chicken hearts! Yummy! Other than being a little cautious in new situations, I don’t have any other big fears! I’ve never been around young children, but I’m sure I would love them just as much as I love my foster mom! I am working very hard on learning how to go potty outside, and I was doing great, but then it got so cold, and I can’t seem to spend enough time outside to be able to go potty without getting too cold! I am comfortable sleeping in my crate even though I get a little anxious when I first get in. I am not trained to walk on a leash, and I only go potty in my fenced backyard, so I told my foster mom to make sure my furever home has a fenced backyard. I like to bark when someone comes to the door just to make sure they are nice! I also like to bark at night sometimes, but not all the time! I have never been around cats, but am a gentle girl so we might be fine. I like to play with dogs sometimes but I get jealous of them so I'd probably be best as an only dog. Though I am cautious of you and who I play with, I know I am the sweet little girl you and your family have been looking for. I have so much love to give, and I can’t wait until I’m in my furever home singing along to my favorite song “That doggie in the Window?”. Sincerely, Tula Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Fritz is a tiny 5&#226&#128&#145pound Yorkie with a big heart and the sweetest, most easygoing personality. As a senior gentleman, he’s calm, gentle, and happiest when he’s being held or curled up in someone’s lap. He’s a true companion dog—quiet, affectionate, and content simply being near his people. He’s friendly with everyone he meets, including kids, adults, dogs, and even cats. He doesn’t play with toys and isn’t very food&#226&#128&#145motivated, but he absolutely loves cuddling and soaking up affection. His low energy level makes him an ideal match for someone looking for a peaceful, loving little shadow. Fritz is almost potty trained and does well on a consistent schedule. He’s crate trained, though he may have accidents in the crate, so continued routine and patience will help him succeed. He walks nicely on a leash and doesn’t require a fenced yard—he’s perfectly happy going out for short potty breaks and then heading right back inside to relax. He’s hypoallergenic, apartment&#226&#128&#145friendly, and wonderful for seniors or anyone wanting a calm, gentle companion. He also does well with other friendly dogs but doesn’t require one in the home as long as his humans are around often. Fritz is a soft, snuggly, loving little guy who just wants to be held and adored. He’s the perfect companion for someone who wants a quiet, loyal, deeply affectionate dog to share their days with. Whoever adopts him will gain a devoted little friend who brings warmth and comfort wherever he goes. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Visit this link  www.underdogrescuemn.com/donate   to donate.  (Please note: A Paypal account is not necessary to use Paypal. When you get to the Paypal page, just use the link to the left of their login to make your donation via Paypal without an account.) January 21, 2026, 7:36 pm
