You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB: 09/01/2018 Requires another dog in home: Yes, required Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes, prefers small dogs Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Weight: 6.15 lbs Requires a fenced yard:   Yes, needs a fenced yard Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hi, I’m Jamby! I’m a beautiful, sweet adult female yorkie looking for a family who can help me come out of my shell. I take a while to warm up to new people, and I’m still unsure about my foster family, but I’m learning to trust them. My foster mom says I’m getting better, and with gentleness and patience, I even let her hold me every day! Oh, and I’m a bit of a foodie—I love a good meal, and I love my treats. I really brighten up when I smell something tasty! Food is definitely the way to my heart. I like other dogs, especially those around my size. I’m still not quite sure about playing, but I love to snuggle and hang out with other four-legged friends. My foster family hasn’t introduced me to cats yet. I’d do best in an adult-only home, or in a home with calm, older kids who will be patient with me. New things scare me, and I might try to run and hide if my humans are too exuberant! I am crate trained, and I feel safe and cozy there. I’m working on my potty training, and I’ve figured out that if I bark at the door, my foster family will let me outside to do my business. I also do well with a schedule. I really like my fenced back yard, and since I haven’t been leash trained yet, I get most of my zoomies out there. Plus, the fence keeps unexpected, scary things away. Someday, I might be brave enough to go for a walk, but I don’t feel ready right now. All I need is a patient, understanding family to help me conquer my fears. When I get to know you and understand that you love me, I’ll love you right back. I’m a total sweetheart, just wait and see! I’m so excited to find my fur-ever family. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello there! I'm Blossom, the sweet Yorkie with an appetite for treats and a heart ready to bloom. Let me tell you a bit about myself, and I'm sure you'll see the potential for a beautiful friendship. But read carefully as I do have some behavioral issues and will need to go to a very special forever home. I'm a 9-pound bundle of sweetness, and my name says it all—Awesome Blossom! I'm house trained and have the whole crate routine down, although I've recently discovered the joy of comfy beds and couches. My love for treats knows no bounds, and my humans find my little dances and animated antics quite amusing. I'm a quiet companion who loves being your shadow. If food is involved, count me in! Napping in my cozy beds is a favorite pastime, and I hope my gentle snoring won't keep you up. I'm a good girl, but there's a unique quirk – I'm afraid of touch. However, I make up for it with adorable bumps on your hand and leg, especially if you're fixing my food. I love other dogs and currently share my space with two furry friends. Snuggling with them is one of my favorite activities. Did I mention how much I love to eat? Veggies and fruits are on my menu too, all part of staying healthy! It is very important to know that while some might see my fear of touch as a challenge, others believe in my potential to blossom, hence the name. I'm trying my best to trust and be part of a loving family. Due to my fear of touch, grooming requires a bit of extra attention. But don't worry, my foster mom can fill you in on the details. Invest your time with me, and I'm sure the rewards will be plentiful. I might have my quirks, but I'm your Blossom! Let's make memories together. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I'm Joan, a beautiful and very happy yorkie that has made great steps in growing confidence and trust in my people. At home, it took some time, but I've really settled in and love nothing more than snuggling up with my humans. I may be small, but I've got a big heart, especially when it comes time to spending time with my people on the couch. Recently I have started to play with toys. And I have also discovered the great secret of treats – I love a yummy snack or nibbling on bones. I admit I'm not a fan of loud noises but could be in a forever home with kids if they are calm and gentle. I would thrive in a quiet home where I can continue to gain confidence and build a trusting relationship with my people. I also need another dog in my forever home – having a confident and social furry friend will help me get on a routine, learn to be a dog and be brave. Oh, and did I mention I'm almost potty trained? With a little more practice, I'll have it down pat! Want to know a little secret? I was a bit afraid of grass when I first arrived and have been going potty on the concrete patio. And while I'm a pro at crate training at night, especially when my kennel is near my people. But I'm not a fan of being cooped up during the day, I have turned into a little escape artist so I get a little freedom while my people are away. I am still working on leash training, so I need a fence in my forever home. There are so many “dog” things I am learning, so a little time and patience will be key for me. Overall, I'm a sweet little girl who's ready to find her forever home. Yes, I’m timid and it will take time for me to feel comfortable but I’m an absolute sweetheart who deserves a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever home with a family that will NEVER give up on me…like YOU! If you will simply welcome me into your world, I promise I will love you more than you could EVER imagine! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there, lovely humans! My name is Tiffany, and I'm here to steal your heart with my sweet and loving personality. I may be small, weighing in at just 9 lbs, but my heart is as big as can be! I absolutely adore being held and cuddled, and I could spend hours sitting on your lap or snuggled up next to you. Belly rubs? Oh, they're my absolute favorite! Just give me some pets, and I'll be your best friend forever. At home, I get along great with my furry siblings, both resident pups and other foster friends. I haven't met a pup I don't like.  I'm still working on being comfortable when left alone, so I might get a little vocal, but I'm making progress every day!  I let my foster mom know I don't like it when she leaves but it doesn't take long and I lay down and take a nap.  My ideal forever home is with someone that is home a lot so I don't get worried.   I think it would be fun having some human siblings that want to play with me.  I am very gentle and love everyone.   When it comes to treats, I'm not too picky—I'll gobble up anything you give me! But my favorite thing in the world? Being held close and showered with love. As for potty training, well, let's just say I'm still figuring it out but I have made huge progress with going potty outside.  I sometimes even go to the door and let me foster mom know I have to go potty.  I hate to say it but I still sometimes use potty pads, but my foster mom is helping me learn to go outside like a big girl.  And speaking of learning, I've made some huge strides with crate training! Eating in my kennel used to freak me out, but now I'm starting to feel more comfortable.  In fact at meal time I run to my kennel as fast as I can.  I love meal time!!.  I have also learned how nice and relaxing it can be to take naps in my kennel.      My foster mom is happy to report I am doing great at leash training.  I really enjoy going for walks with my other furry friends.  I especially love it when we see other pups on our walks.  I want to play with everyone!  My foster mom thinks I don't hear as well as I should.  I only hear very loud noises. Having a home with another pup would be helpful for me.  I learn so much more from watching them.    Overall, I'm just a sweet, cute, and loving girl who's ready to find her forever family. With a little patience and a whole lot of love, I know I'll fit right in. So what do you say? Are you ready to welcome a precious pup like me into your home? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Is your idea of having a dog donning visions of smaller lap dog who doesn’t have the intensity of a puppy yet holds your heart?  Look no further. I’m a senior gal so my energy is reserved for eating and sleeping.  I’m a bit shy upon first meeting but will eventually warm up and show my laid back lifestyle.  I’m a go-with-the-flow type girl unless another dog gets in my face.  I have no problem telling those youngsters to leave me alone (by growling which does the trick). My idea of a great day is to lay on/by your feet or in your lap.  Close enough that I can get pet.  You see I’m not into toys and really can leave outside off the docket if it wasn’t for needing to go to the bathroom.  I do need a fenced yard to make sure I don’t bolt. I also would need more practice on a leash but as I mentioned before, I’m ok just doing my business and coming back inside although I will try it if you are interested in teaching me leash manners. I’ve been working hard on crate training and doing ok but it’s still a work in progress.  I will bark at you when you get home to make sure you let me out of there.  Oh and I do know the word “come?” If you have another dog, I hope it’s smaller, like me.  I don’t play with them or nuzzle with them.  But, if they try sitting on your lap and that’s where I am, I’m a grumble-meister.  But only if your attention isn’t all mine.  Even when you’re getting meals ready, I am clamoring to climb up your leg in anticipation.  I haven’t been around any feline friends but I’m so easy going, I’ll likely be ok.  My foster mom said I’m a wonderful little queen who will make a wonderful companion to some lucky person.  Is it you? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello! I’m Janice, a beautiful adult female Yorkie who is very curious about everything, but I don’t like loud noises like thunderstorms, and I am timid around people. In fact, whenever I begin to get close to a person, I second-guess myself and back away. That said, I happily approach other dogs and I learn a lot from them so I would love to have a doggie companion at my new home. I am one of those independent, not-so-cuddly types but I do enjoy sitting next to mom while she gives me amazing ear scratches…on my terms of course! Hee, hee! I also will let her pick me up after I’ve run to my safe place (my bed) first! I know I’m quirky but that’s the beauty of me!! Anyway, my favorite activities include emptying the toybox to play with all my toys, eating food/treats, going for leashed walks, and simply spending time outside. Oh yeah, I also enjoy shredding paper or cardboard…I know, random right!?! Hee, hee!! I have not met any cats; I do fine with the kennel/crate; and in addition to asking mom to go outside, I will do my business on potty pads. If I were to guess, I would say I'm 80% potty trained on either potty pads or going outside and doing great on a routine. I should mention that I can be a bit vocal if I’m home alone or the other dogs bark. However, I’m a smart little cookie who not only knows what “outside” means but I’ve learned that when foster mom says “no bark” that means I should use my indoor voice (hee, hee). I really am an incredibly sweet little girl who dreams of a fur-ever home of my own with YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving family that will NEVER give up on me. Sure, I’m not going to be a full-time lap dog, but I will love you more than anything in this entire world in my own way and I promise our life together will be amazing! Love, Janice *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
